NICE, Very NICE ! It gets my blood pumping just watching. I had small Heart Palpitations and sweating.! Now excuse me. I have to watch the teaser, one more time......... .

Alright I will give it one more try to be a Troll. . Norgies ! Shiiiiiiit, The only reason they can Track half as good as people say. It's just there feeble attempt to Try to Keep-Up with those damn, Fins. ......... . Or how about this one ?: . It just looks like they Take-It -Down to the Basement on purpose on those Long Tracks. Really it's just because there fingers just keep Slipping of the Pilot-Chute from eating Herring and Sardines for lunch...... .

jh: ..."If you're sayng it was an "average" jump for a Norgie or an aussie " ................ Everybody Knows that those Aussy's can't Track to save there Ass. The highest thing they got to jump on that wore-down Continent is a 100 meter high, pile of rocks.......... .

jh: .."And I'm kidding cuz I know yuri knows what he's talking about." ....................... Yuri. Track ? I heard that if you take away his WS. He just falls like a Tool-Box........ .

I would like to see some solid studies on Humans. Not a bunch of Pet Shop .99 cent Feeders that are Experimented on then bagged-n-trashed. Human behavior and Rodent behavior. Humans and some BASE jumpers behavior might be a little more complex than a rodents. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...The mice remembered the experience. However, those with a single copy of the neuroD2 gene did not respond to the tone like the normal mice did, researchers found. These mice did not freeze their movements as often in anticipation of the mild shock. . Are you trying to say that a BASE jumper that has a Genetically spliced in copy of neuroD2 will go back and JUMP the SAME Cliff AGAIN that he just broke his leg on a year earlier ?...... .

failure point on F111 fabric and Darcon lines
RayLosli replied to VictorSuvorov's topic in BASE Jumping
Dude those are a lot of Q's for 3 sentences. Space is more than correct but I will add to it just because I feel Long-Winded today. . It's just like a skydiving canopy to what the human body can endure without losing consciousness (and-or) breaking bones on opening shock. The Tensile Strength on a (individual) on an average is 550 lb. in the Dacron. Breaklines and the loop (LRT set-up) on the risers Is much higher. Usually 1000 lb. spectra on the LRT set-up. Those big beefy break lines are about 1500 lb. . I think that UV damage is the worst enemy for F-111. + dirt and grit in the fabric weave. It's a killer. F-111 fabric tensile strength ? I don't know. If you poke a hole and start tearing it . Its not that tough but I have seen people hanging suspended by only the nylon fabric itself. I have seen it tear quick and I have seen it get drug through the dirt and rock and slammed in a car door and still no holes. Average # of jumps on a BASE canopy before it starts getting shabby/retirement, is about 300 - 800 jumps. There is no set #. it is just in the amount of abuse the BASE jumper puts it through. A good rule of thumb would be NEVER Lend your new BASE canopy for a friend to take out of town for a couple days..... . There is much documentation of Canopy opening shock bending and destroying Hardware on Riser and Harness container systems. You put that all together combined with all the reinforcing/support tape and stitching that ties the line to fabric. The human Body is just a stick of Butter in comparison. . -
I don't think those Wing-Extensions by themselves would do to much for the performance enhancement. . So I thought about it for a while and decided to do more than that. I added on the to the total Tail length. I took it all the way down to the floor with a Ridged but flexible leading and trailing edge. I think adding a flat (non-inflatable) piece of material should make a significant difference, because the trailing edge would be flat. Thin trailing edge = faster horizontal speed = more lift. So I added on about 5 more inches in tail length. The stock GTi tail was kind cut real short also thick in shape. Plus the wing extensions with grippers. I also put stiffeners in them to. Kind of like little stall-tips with handles. The extensions with the Handles do force the wing to a better shape when I put the suit on and give them a pull. Much Better with Total Shape. It pulls the trailing edge of the wing stiffer I will take it out this weekend a do a few hop and pops to check it out. .

Grundleson by the way,how high do you/should you be for specific jumps? is 240 high enough for a handheld in the city? whats the cutoff for a static line/pca/handheld jump ? ....................................... 240' is enough for a PCA or a Hand-Held throw and lower is done all the time . You can do 240" with go and Pitch Stowed, back-Gainer and still live. been done a Lot. For an open landing area with Dirt & Grass. With an exit from pillar or bridge or small tower or antenna. or a building with more softer or open landing area like a Flat clean Parking Lot. That stuff gets done a lot so I would say go for it. But: Your in town. Things in town are pretty hard. walls, streets, sidewalks, poles, wires. etc. For myself. I would Tie-off or someone that I trust PCA me @ least for the First one. . On a good PCA or Tie-off with a marginal Heading on Opening. You will have plenty of time to Pop-Breaks, Slam it in deep brakes, pick your spot. with a couple of seconds to set-up, Flare and Land. But Not Much more time than that. Especially if you had some sort of Drama on opening. . Play it Safe. So you can go back and Hammer out the jumps every night till Ya burn it......... .

Did my very first Aerial on jump # 520 did a double-front from 870 -ft. Antenna. / went pretty fair. - I exited first before D.J. and Dwain did. Latter that night Dwain asked me. ..."what's-up with that ?" I said..."with fucking what." Dwain said ..."You.never do Aerial's and Taking it Down. That was quite aberrant behavior for you." I said..."Fuck dude, Nick H. lived that long and he never trained or skydived. So I figured, Fuck dude I'll live forever." Dwain just Smirked and went on with his business. .

Anyone have any other ideas? - Maybe the cross-ports are much to small for positive inflation you are seeking.@ those low air speeds ? .

Which is the greater killer, skydiving or base jumping
RayLosli replied to LilZilla's topic in Safety and Training
Kelp ..."but people go in. A few are sacrificed." - That is not even a close analogy of BASE jumping. It's not about Cheating Death after every jump. That type of mentality only applies to just a hand full of sick fucks who BASE jump. - >>>>>>>>>>> Kelp ..." I also think about how hard it is to say no to marginal conditions after that much effort. " - That observation is pretty good though. Sometimes it is very hard to step-back and keep your brain in control so you don't do something stupid in BASE. BUT In skydiving Usually you can just catch the next turnaround load if you got some dificulties. Also the DZ owner usually will usually keep you in line to ( His Way of Thinking ) - because He Owns Your Elevator. and the FAA and Insurance costs owns his Ass and also he has love of the sport. Now Kelp You need to understand. That Shit does NOT apply in BASE. The BASE jumpers Exits are only limited to that individuals Drive and Imagination + Skill. Nobody tells you No except yourself. That my friend Escalates the danger factor through the fucking roof. - As far as the original Q. of Which has the greater casualty ratio? BASE or Skydive. The ONLY thing they have in common is that the Jumper of both is in control of his or her choices. Each jumper can also can make the Jump as difficult and Dangerous as he wants BUT the price for failure to complete the end result can lead to cratering-in & a dirt-nap for each. Dude you wont understand BASE until you just go out and make a few hundred BASE jumps but to the experienced jumper they are Very Different. The odds for the Dirt-Nap Increase Rapidly Higher if you BASE. . -
Thanks Tom I am asking because this add in saw DZcom the add was making some claims and I asked a friend of mine who has several hundred WS flights. He said apparently they work and has heard some positive input on Extensions. I sew and it would be very little effort on my part to make some Mods.I'm not trying to change the suit to a V-1 or S3s. I have been flying the GTi for a few years. I am just getting Greedy and just want to SQUEEZE just a little more out of Her. --- For Sale: Classic & GTI Performance Wing Extensions Price: The ZP extensions can be easily be attached to the wing, of the GTI wingsuit or even the Classic wingsuit manufactured by BirdMan, by any sewing machine using nylon or heavy cotton thread or by your local rigger in less then 5 minutes. Testing the extensions has proven to greatly increase performance and maneuverability of the suits, as the extensions act as ailerons. An aileron works by changing the effective shape of the airfoil of the outer portion of the wing. By changing the angle of deflection at the rear of an airfoil or wing, this will change the amount of lift generated by the foil. With greater downward deflection, the lift will increase in the upward direction, and the roll will be faster along with easier recoverabilit ---

I'm not trying to cut in line but is there any info or report on -GTI Performance Wing Extensions- ? I punched it in search and it came up zero .

Which is the greater killer, skydiving or base jumping

Or 10-way speedstar -Vs- 160 ft. freefall - Or turning points on a 4-way -Vs- Going out @ 2 AM with your buddy's and do a Rope assent to gain access to a flight of stairs. Quietly climbing for 1/2 hour. Then waiting for 2 hours while laying on your belly on cold concrete. So you can exit @ the first beam of sun-light in the morning. Then making your way stealthy to the vehicle for a speedy get-away. . Or -
TVPB Hence, if a jumper calls another individual jumper irresponsible, that tag/title/perception/etc will be what people will think all jumpers are. Jumpers should not be using those words in the media. Especially those that are VERY accomplished at dealing with the media and are professional speakers .--------------- I thought you were smarter than this ? There is a -Very Simple Solution- for this Problem. Never Ever talk to the Media. Just do what I do when immediately seeing one of these freaks. Immediately knife there automobile tires (and or) push them down a flight of stairs. . I think the negative perception is Quite Well Attached and Established all ready with BASE jumpers. as example: The first thing that usually come out of the Mouth of your average Human on this earth when hearing about or seeing a BASE jumper jump. " He or She (does or did) What ? " " Jumped off the Top of What ? "... " With What ? " A Parachute ! " . I rest my case. .

What a Ride ? What about Burning Up on Re-Entry on your little free-fall................ .

736 (2) on the only 180 I've had, circumstance and a response which was less than optimal resulted in my using the vents to walk (uninjured) away from, but notably not avoid, an object strike. ------------------------ That's because you are not using your Vents. Your Canopy is using your Vents. You are flying your Canopy and making it do your Bidding. I watched someone when I was growing up do Hundreds of BASE jumps on a Ragged-Out old Pegasus. He did not get by with LUCK or a Vented and Valved wonder machine. He got by with all those jumps because he had Raw-Skill and He worked with and Knew his Canopy. He loved that piece of shit Pegasus. In return it did EVERYTHING he asked it to do. In the Best and WORST of circumstances. - Which goes to advice that everyone should be giving mr. 1k7. Just BUY a BASE Canopy and forge a relationship with that canopy. A canopy pilot that knows and understands everything about his canopy. A pilot that has his BASE Canopy tuned to His liking and Know How To Fly It for all it's worth. It DOES NOT MATTER if it is a beat-up old Pegasus or the most expensive custom BASE Canopy. With all the vents and valves money can buy. You had better be it's Master. Jump it. Learn it. -

No no no. bazzfreefly. Don't listen to them other guy's posting all that -Negative Energy. All they want to do is Sabotage your chances to latch onto a -Bigger Buzz. They are ALL just a little Jealous of your Fresh and Un-Tainted, Enthusiasm in finding BASE.. You Don't have the wrong attitude. Just Jump Right-In (no pun intended). Sounds like you need a good Crash Course in, How to BASE Jump. Its a lot of fun. There's nothin to it. I think if you can catch me on the Right Day with the Right Attitude. I'm pretty sure I can give you what you are looking for. Hey were do you live at ? Just drop me a PM. your friend Ray. .

The wind would be the thing that is most unpleasant. Even though the Sun is shinning bright. I have done a few while passing through during the winter. I would not suggest packing out side if you can help it. I would think the Major thing is -You Do Not want- to end up in the Water. @ that time of the year under a canopy. ..

"Just wondering what the longest delay is that has been done on a base jump? " ------------ I would imagine it would have been BASE Jumpers that have Taken it all the way to the Dirt. . "Also what is the height of the tallest cliff that has been jumped? (not tallest in terms of altitude, but sheer cliff.".... ------------ How do you do that without Site-Naming and angering the management ? .
