Next time any of you are climbing a building stair-well. Look down the center and tell me what you see. . .

When over in Twin on, Mem. Weekend I saw some good jump footage. Started with climbing up the stairs, to gain exit access. Like the majority of building roof-top access you climb up the fire stairs / Spiraling stair well. If your real lucky. You get to ride the Elevator up. I have seen this on other video's as well. When people are climbing (sneaking) they are Putting there hands on the Rail as they go up. I got severally scolded on my first building jumps when I did it and you bastards should to. This is just a good Habit to get into. & just my Opinion. Follow the out-side wall up the stairs and don't run your hands on the -INSIDE- Stair-Rail. That's something that takes a conscience effort, To Do. Bad Etiquette / shame one you/ Don't do that...... Q : If you are on top of the stair well and look down. What do you see Most ? A : You see Stair Railing with HANDS ON THEM. . .

One thing also: If shit goes Bad or Wrong for one of you simple-shits. and there are more than just two of you / for example a small group or Zoo load. There is really No Need for - All - to take the Heat. After the Medical or the Authorities have been contacted depending on how Bad it has (Hit the Fan) If it can be AGREED in the group that only ONE need stay. The duties should be separated if at all possible as to Someone stay with the unlucky victim of circumstance. It is much simpler if One stay / With ONE STORY to tell. While others Take care of all Gear, Vehicles etc. and contact #'s or rendezvous latter. Naw... you can do a 5 sec. No slider and live with no permanent damage He is young and half way flexible. I did a 4.8 or .9 on video. I was a little sore for a couple days but it was not as bad as I thought. I was also Braced for it & had a decent Body Position. also a few years younger. canopy was not high on porosity and was not Vented. Also: I immediately looked up for broken lines or Ripped fabric / None to be found. The canopy was a modified, Crus-lite, 220, Dacron lines / Not a reinforced BASE canopy. Which will just show you how Tuff a 7 cell can be. You will most likely be dead before you can Blow up a BASE canopy on opening Shock. Most seriously . .

Ya , Seth was more than a nice guy. After your around him for any length of time. You could not help but like him . The first BASE jump I ever saw was with him. It was @ Davis skydiving and me and Jerry Loftis were Board jumping. That night we were drinking some beer at a Keg at a party, DZ get-together after dark thing. It was nothing to out of the ordinary of all other advertisement that was taken out by others in Skydiving as a whole. I am self employed and have a small business and I got to say that an add taken out and displayed to the public reflects much about the Owner and there personality. I thumbed through Skydiving Mag. this months issue and looked at each one to get a feel of what kind of add & First Impression that I get & what catches my eye. Hey...also / looked @ vid several times this morning there has been some talk of jumping into a head wind. No fucking way / camera angle / quick step hard push-off If a canopy opens up on a 180 with a tail wind push. On that small of a Free-stander the way it is shaped. I do not care who you are or how fast you are or how good your canopy is set up. You are going to, SMACK it. You will Not turn it around in time. Do not fool yourselves. Ok... without judging him on past performances / This is what I see. I got to give him a little applause on this one. Watch the Vid. he could have been a little faster on it. He fought it and was working it HARD and pulled it off. With a Talus coming up @ him. . .

If I understand this right. It's a Free-Stander. also: not that big. Hey that kind of object is a tough one to have a 180 deg. off heading for any skill level of jumper. A Free-Stander / most if all that go past 200 Ft. tall are going to be Under-Hung. They have a Talus /flair out @ bottom like some cliffs, power towers etc. Even with a light tail wind you better be on it fast. & be lucky With any delay over a hop & pop, on a small free-stander with a talus. the odds start compounding against you dramatically for a Snag Free Jump. . .

Also... think about all those extra lines. When you separate all those cascaded lines into there individual sets. 32 individual lines to figure-eight and stow in the tail pocket + break lines. More Lines, connector Links and more Risers to get More pack volume. All the more possibility of Tension Knots....... . .

Having the C & D's separate for... Rear Riser, Stall & heading corrections would be an ideal set-up. No more extreme distortion when you Yard Down on the rear risers. If you have ever seen side video of a Canopy when doing this ? The canopy is buckling in the center span-wise / like a V-shape. I however can not see the two Risers being split below a downward moving Slider Grommet. ** Big thing is.... Would the Slider let that much Riser Span-Out Freely...? Think about it. A-B-C-D / 8 sets of line groups let free to span ? also: If the front A-B's one Riser & the C-D's which are split on two Risers, are giving a un-balanced or not Welcoming at some point on its trip/slide, down to the Riser Bumpers. / On a 4 Grommet Slider. For No-slider jumps I do not see a problem in splitting the C-D's for deployment or canopy inflation./ just maybe research in Reaction to line-twists and other things. Just keep those hands/fingers away from those 3rd Riser Hits on deployment..Ouch ! .......................... The 5th break control Line helped give this extra power for Rear-Riser stall and turns. While breaks are stowed. With less Buckling between the AB - CD's span-wise on the canopy. That is a big plus that I feel jumpers should not abandon totally. The idea is a sound one but will take a while to work out a nice balance. . .

For instance, if you separate on a canopy the back risers in 2 risers (Cs and Ds) you will have a canopy much easier to fly with the back risers (only the Ds now) easier to fly back word and much safer to land if you lose the toggles. And I can’t see a negative! .......... I like new ideas but what about: More to grab at in a panic situation / Line Twists / 6 Grommet Slider / Toggle placement & positioning .

He was not a BASE jumper yet. If a for example a Formula-One Driver was on the line to start then the Flag goes down to start and then his Engine Blows. He never finished one Lap..... but he still gets a .. DNF... (did not finish)... because he was a Driver. You Must be a.. BASE Jumper ..to get a ...DNF. .

It not that big a Deal.... You just cut your pattern 2 inches larger than your desired size. The 2 inches of / Shrinkage due to thread tension when taping seems to be the Norm. I think all manufactures should Cut so finished size is the stated finish size. A.. 42 or 32.. should be that size when you measure the tape from end to end on the Top Skin.
