...the one advantage to having students bring their own music. Check out freeplay music on the net, download it to your ipod, and go from there--alot of it's not half-bad! (if you don't have an ipod, then I guess you're screwed).

You can always also just crop the overlay image to just off the numbers--tends to be a bit more readable as well...IMHO pope

C'mon now jimmy! I thought you were Miles' friend! and you go calling him the "Pepsi" of BASE jumping! Now what's Red Bull gonna think about THAT?? I've jumped with Miles. We had a kickass time. I have never had a problem with him, his publicity or his personality. As far as his ethics are concerned, I can't judge him based on internet banter. In the meantime, why don't y'all check out some video of Miles and Shane wowing all the gawkers at BD 2004! Sheeesh! what will those crazy kids come up with next?

If not, I can say one thing for certain--I most definitely would not put a post like this on the net saying that you think their gear is second rate--especially if you're considering taking them up on their offer. **(this is why many people call getting sponsored "selling out.") $0.02

seems like the dz is taking on an "extra" liability by letting a TM that is not under some sort of contractual obligation jump with an unlicensed passenger. In this litigious, sue-happy country, I think it's at LEAST fair to either not let you jump--I think charging a bit extra is no big deal.

Well, technically, the PC was NOT in the other guys' face, but close enough. Part of the problem was that the guy that ended up spiraling into the water had his hand on his PC BEFORE he ever left the ramp. If you're going to do 2 or larger ways, it's more than just exiting together--it's planning, sticking to the plan, and being ready to adapt if things were to go awry... any other comments?? pope

In short: no. Here's the long version: FUCK no. at 270' things tend to seem like they take longer to work. If you are used to juping something a bit higher and using a 42" PC, you might be sensing the 46"PC taking a hair longer to inflate. prime-YES peel-NO pope

I second the vote for a mac. more powerful programs, more stable OS, no Bill gates, No virus worries... get a Mac, dude. If you're into a desktop, a dual G5 will smoke just about anything off the shelf. pope

Just because it's a high bridge over water doesn't necessarily make it safe... Watch the video clip triax-BD04-04.mov and discuss amongst yourselves... I think the voice in the background sums up my feelings about this jump as succinctly as possible. pope edit: by request of original poster ~TA
