Knocked out during skydive, what do you do?
Andrewwhyte replied to fasted3's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Duh. First you say, "you're alright girl, you're alright." Then you climb on ones back and run across them like an Aussie sheep dog to the shore. Really dude that should have been obvious. -
Pakistani actress Veena Malik unloads on a Mullah
Andrewwhyte replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
I'm sure they would, but she is famous, so they know it would be a PR disaster. Really? Was it a PR disaster when they killed Bhutto? How about when they killed the only Christian legislator? The forces of repression would consider it a PR coup. -
Well, it did have a watermark.

Can you tell us what kind and size the canopy was? Approx what weight? I am a little concerned about a student canopy going up on a normal flare. Was he perhaps in recovery from a higher flare?
-
You have 50 or more jumps and you cannot do better than a 90% stand up rate? Get a better canopy. Landing is not supposed to hurt. All those slightly rough landings will add up. Trust me I know.

Any DZs in Quebec/Ontario opened in April?
Andrewwhyte replied to lawleypop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Good luck finding a DZ that is open. You might email Tim at Niagara Skydive Centre as he has a paved runway. If you cannot complete PFF for under 2000 you are doing it wrong. -

Nice! Thanks for that. -

What's wrong with an X210? I did my first CRW with one of those. Fine canopy.

Suck it up and drink your coffee black for a month. You will wonder how you took it any other way. I did this twenty-five years ago when my father developed type 2 diabetes. Today if I take a drink of sweetened coffee by mistake it is hard not to spew it across the room. It helps if you drink good quality coffee.

Ron Paul wants to institute a Value Added Tax. I think this is perhaps the best tool Congress has to tackle the problem (that and about a 25% reduction in the defense budget). A VAT has several attributes that make it a good idea: 1. It is a flat tax. Spend a buck, throw a nickle in the middle, no exceptions. It does not distort the economy by picking winners and losers. 2. It is taxed when you consume, not when you invest. American individuals need to reign in personal spending while keeping the productive engine flowing. 2. Exports are exempt. America needs to start producing more than they consume to reduce their dependence on rivals picking up their bonds. This is a weakness that eclipses any military threat. Canada's GST (VAT) is 5%. Most provinces add to that, but that is the Fed's take. If US set theirs there it would not give an advantage to Canada. It would still be lower than every (I think) European country as well as Australia and NZ.

No Job Is Better Than Working A Shitty Job
Andrewwhyte replied to Kennedy's topic in Speakers Corner
For those who voted no: Would you prefer to be a prostitute rather than unemployed? How about your daughter or son? -
Spaceland - This CAN'T be true...can it?
Andrewwhyte replied to popsjumper's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The DZO will relent probably because he knows that in Ontario the policy is not legal. -
Is Ken Clarke playing fast and lose with prisoner plans?
Andrewwhyte replied to Skyrad's topic in Speakers Corner
The point is to have a lower crime rate. Rehabilitation, deterrence and protection of society all have a part to play, as does cost. Punishment, other than its role in deterrence, has no value worth pursuing. -
The rebels are irregular, do not wear uniforms, and when faced with defeat melt back into the population. Are they not terrorists under the US military's definition?

Last I heard they were jumping a Cessna 402. It is a stunning view and Johnny and Jessica are fantastic people. It is a Tandem business though so don't expect a lot in terms of volume or fun jumpers. the local scene is a bit busy on Sunday. You need 500 jumps and to be current to jump there as there is no real designated DZ. The place we aimed for was not exclusive to us so your accuracy skills need to be good as your target can shift due to people on the ground.

Yes, I think it is broken. I checked my bet with Gawain just yesterday. I won't have lost until the end of next year, but I do consider him to have failed on this file.

FAA Moves to Limit Blockout System Hiding Private Jet Flights
Andrewwhyte replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Looks to me like the real time aspect does have the potential for security risks. Requests to keep the info confidential after the flight terminates could be treated differently. -
Will technology ever get advanced enoug that......
Andrewwhyte replied to iluvtofly's topic in The Bonfire
This video contains content from National Geographic, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds. Sorry about that. -
I know I have asked you this before, but why do you insist on referencing the FAA and American Law to people who do not live within their jurisdiction?

Live Ammo Found at Site Where Tea Party Protests Continue

What's the big deal? Just someone needs to tell the lefties that they will have to buy a gun to make them work.
