I don't expect any politicians to tell the truth. If YOU do, I'd like to sell you a nice bridge. Nonetheless, when you catch them at it you need to react. If not slope merely increases. This guy should be impeached. Presumably the prez will limit the damage by demanding he resign, but the effect is the same.

Have a nice life. We will keep a light on for you if you change your mind.

John, I lived/worked at the DZ in Cabo a few years back. It is not cheap by Mexican standards at all. It is however a place that you should visit as I think you would find it very much to your liking. The government/ graft issues in Baja California Sur are perhaps the most manageable of anywhere in Mexico.

When all AAD's are banned, what will you do?
Andrewwhyte replied to JohnRich's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You left out the "jump with a banned one installed" option. -
Is plasma one of them?

AAD vs. Actually learning to be safer....
Andrewwhyte replied to HaroldBoyles's topic in Safety and Training
Not necessarily. I did a couple of thousand jumps before I got an AAD. I went through a phase where I was opening below 2000' on virtually every jump for 2 or 300 jumps. I have opened below 1000' several times. Today I tend to think about AAD height like I used to think about the ground; don't want to scare the opener, need to be open well above it so I can have a mal and still be under reserve and not scare it. Over the last 2000 jumps I can count the number of times I have opened below 2000' on one hand. I am rarely below 3000'. -
DZO's who post classified ads seeking staff
Andrewwhyte replied to stratostar's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I know what you mean. When I was job hunting a few years ago I was surprised by prospective employers who refused to give me a reasonable income estimate. ME: I am interested,...questions,...how much per tandem, AFF,... how many jumps can I expect over the course of the season? THEM: We pay X per,.... last year TMs were getting Y on most weekends in August. ME: Sounds good during peak season. I am interested in what I can expect over the whole season? THEM: (chirp, chirp, chirp) This happened with various centres. -

I love this one. I wonder if they realise that it means the bank no longer owes them any money for their account. "How much food do you have?" or more probably, "How much ammo do you have?" -

In Amerika You Are Punished for being Successful
Andrewwhyte replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Yeah, but when you're 11 the two are more closely linked than when you're 21. Kids grow up at different speeds and I would imagine the prevalence of stand-out athletes is highest around that age. I watched the video and the kid is not "Mongo" just stepping over opponents or anything, but I would agree that letting him play with the next grade would probably challenge him more, and be good for both him and his classmates. It's not too dissimilar to letting kids take math classes of the next grade or two above theirs if they excel at it. Yup. When I was a kid all the kids in one age class (peewee, bantam etc) would compete to be the "rep" team to travel to other towns and play the other "rep" teams. When they weren't traveling they played league in the next age class up. -

The earlier you expose your daughter to new things, the more likely she is to embrace them and to incite her to broaden her horizons more so. France is actually very nice other than all the French people. -
Should Candidates Describe Themselves as Pro-Gun?
Andrewwhyte replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
So the short answer is no. Just because someone strongly agrees with you on one issue does not mean they will vote for you. On the other hand if someone strongly disagrees with you on an issue it stands a higher chance of being a valence issue for them wrt you. This is why so many moderate pols treat the abortion issue as poison. -
Do You Support Assassination or "Targeted Killing?"
Andrewwhyte replied to lawrocket's topic in Speakers Corner
I am. It doesn't seem as though any warrant other than a death warrant was ever signed. Yep. If the FBI or US Marshalls are involved, then a judicial proceeding is involved. Since the CIA was involved in actually executing him, one can rest assured that a court of law was not involved. Article 2, Section 3 of the Constitution specifically deals with this situation. "Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort." Even for a person levying war against the United States, the penalty requires a conviction based upon testimony of two witnesses in court. So what we have here is an American who is accused of committing an act of treason, as is specifically described in the Constitution. There are two slippery slopes. One is that adherence to the Constitution can cause problems. The other is that lack of adherence to the Constitution can cause problems. My personal preference is that the former occur. It sounds like a trial in absentia would have been appropriate. In fact the more I think about it the more I like the idea for people like this guy. If he didn't like it he would have every opportunity to come home and defend himself. Failing that the targeted killing would have much more legitimacy. I suppose there are those that would argue that such a trial would amount to free publicity for the traitor, but I would counter that said publicity would be a modest price in the long war to show the world that the US remains a country of justice. -
Doug, I live nowhere near the east coast, I have no team to champion. However if you have the luxury of mobility and truly want a quality learning experience I would chose to train at a DZ that has a program that works in conjunction with a wind tunnel. Raefort NC and Deland Fla come to mind. The advantage a tunnel plus AFF program offers is not to be passed up. I only wish we had a tunnel close to where I work. Have fun.

Remember that a 550 burns more fuel than a 520. Do you routinely have one or two jumpers getting out low? How high do your high loads go above sea level? If you are going to 14,000 with six most loads you definitely need the 550. If you drop one at 5000 most loads and then go to 11,500 then you probably don't. Skydive Big sky operates a 520 turbocharged at Innisfail AB. They may have some numbers for you, but Lyal from Eden North ran it for longer so maybe he can give you some insight.

Like all jurisdictional issues that is a matter for the courts. Since in many jurisdictions the courts have already ruled in favor of the states, I would have to lean that way. It pisses me off when bureaucrats ignore the rulings of the courts just because their bailiwick is not specifically mentioned. It is practiced widely and serves to put financial stress on law abiding people as well as the system while the courts are forced to clarify themselves in ways that are inevitable.

Actually the author states that federal law does not have an exception for medicinal use and therefor any use is unlawful, regardless of any state laws, for the purpose of establishing lawful ownership of guns under federal law. Yup, that is what is being stated. I believe, however, that the courts in several jurisdictions have ruled that state laws do in fact make them lawful users.
-
Actually the author of the letter is making a ruling on the term unlawful that is nonsensical. If the use is sanctioned by state law it is not unlawful.

neutrinos exceed the speed of light.

Actually a technician published on a blog that there was some results that indicated a Higgs. The press then announced that CERN had found it. If I recall correctly the scientists quickly quashed that notion. It will be a great shame if CERN shuts down due to funding. Another area for the Chinese to overtake the west perhaps. -

If everyone agreed, this forum would be pretty boring. If you can't take the heat why not just leave? ...btw, there was no PA, bub. Yes there is. The basic content of your post was "I don't give a fuck what Normiss said this time, he's an asshole and I hate him."
