It seems like a true but there are some exceptions. I know at least one very active BASEjumping girl -- the real basejumper) -- who has a son. About the solos -- I've done a dozen of solos in the beginning, but only from the regular objects. Then was a pediod then solos seemed too scary for me. Now it's not interesting for me any more. The Atmosphere container is by Atmosphere Gear Company (check the AG logo on this particular rig). AG Company belongs to Dmitry Neposedov -- the ex-chief of skydiving departament of ParAAvis company. At the same time ParAAvis company continues to produce it. Dmitry has slighly changed the construction of the rig after he left ParAAvis. ParAAvis may change the construction as well. I haven't seen any single Atmosphere by ParAAvis since Dmitry left em. But that means nothing probably they're still selling it.

I've done ~60 camera BASE jumps (mostly sub-terminal). I use home-made helmet and side mounted bracket and I cannot say I'm happy with it. Sometimes (especially in the beginning) that's not very comfortable on exits -- I'm always trying to exit from the side there I don't have to twist my neck too much...

Thanks for posting this, Tom... and great thanks to Douggs for all the tips and advice. May I add my experience?) There are some cliffs in the world there you HAVE to track out. I mean the cliffs with the big ledges or less overhanging... Tacking stuff will help you only if you know how to fly it.) If you're going headdown or unstable because of the tracking suit it's always worse than the regular but stable track without any flying stuff. And if you gonna jump some scary stuff hoping that it'll be your tracking pants that will safe your life.... you're probably f***d. These cliff are jumpable with you best regular tracking (and tracking pants will just give you an extra performance for fun) or it's the other kind of cliffs -- advanced stuff for experienced flyers who know how to fly it long and safe and you have no business there unless and until you'll get more experienced (and it's still youself who's saving your life, even with a help of some toys, you're quite familiar with). I voted "Yes, after I had jumped a solid object" too. It was my first BASE canopy. Just some 220 sq.ft 7-cell "for base or CRW". Then I found that the speed after opening is too high I made "temporary" brake loops, even deeper than previous settings. I tried it a couple of times for slider down and then made it that way. The jumper whom I sold that canopy uses that - "my" - deep brake settings for slider down too, for sub-terminal he uses the brake setting which were created as the DBS for slider down and which i refused to jump that time. But I didn't replace them. ) He said since the time he started jump it on sub-terminal his opening became to be better. Now the difference between two loops are not so big (earlier it was way bigger and both loops were much lower). Now then I jump MDV Troll I just use deeper brakes for slider down and another one for slider up. The difference is not big. I just use the canopy without customizing it because i'm really happy with its openings. Between two evils always pick theone never tried

A couple of questions))) If you're filming BASE, please, post your opinions))) 1. Sight on goggles vs. eye-ring? Please explain your choice. 2. Filming gainers: if your partner is doing gainer, like really slow one... for example slow singe gainer for subterminal, and you're going to film him from the short distance what exit style you'd go for? Above (how to hold on short distance while he's jumping a bit up and falling slow on the back), or at the same time from the side, facing to the side, or on the back, or on the side and transition to the back or what.... just for my curiosity))) 3. Just got the new "little thing" on recent weekend! How about this: you calibrated the exposure manually several points "-" -- for the very sunny day. The colors is good, even the very bright colors like yellow or white or silver. But the day is over and you forgot to change exposure setting for the less light weather (it's still in "-" position for sunny day). So... you've got the black screen with voices instead of the best video of your career. I promise myself again -- spend 5 minutes on video gear! Every jump! That's what the other jumpers said to me then. But the "backward" exit scared me much harder and terminal object made me relaxed. Plus my intention to film my friends here jumping on the back from ~1200 ft exit.
