How do you define a stand up landing?

In my lowly 10 jumps I have only had one I would claim as a stand up landing... sort of a deep knee bend... BUT I stayed on my feet. That counts in my book...especially since the one just prior to that was in a gravel parking lot ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ earthbound misfit -

Skydiving was wearing me out!! My arms aren't strong enough to flare, or pull in the canopy in in the wind after I land...lugging the 30lb student rig around was hurting my back (as was arching) I Have to get stronger if I am going to keep doing this. * Not to mention I could stand to loose a few pounds ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ earthbound misfit

* i had one such dive.. i was so scared (jump IV) about jumping out the door.. that the whole dive was surreal. i had told others when i tried to describe it, that is was like an OBE...like someone else was doing it and i was watching... it wasn't a frightening thing just weird. * I dont think this is exactly the type of experience Muenkel is referring to...but i can sorta relate. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ earthbound misfit -
sounds Almost like my problem except i didn't have the temp flux. the temp was always normal. for about 1 1/2 months i kept smelling a chemically ordor when the car was hot. i had my oil changed (routine) and asked my mechanic to check for what was causing the smell. he didn't find anything. (it was raining and the car was all wet... hard to dectect a leak) a week later the odor was worse and i now had a puddle in my garage. i made an apt with the mechanic and he told me to soak up the puddle in a white paper towel and bring it in for hime to ID. definately anti-freeze. knowing this, he knew where to look and found the upper manifold gasket leaking...a slow drip. he couldn't fix it and referred me to another mechanic. 570 $ and it runs great * interesting comment about dex-cool as that is what my car uses. * hope everything works out for you! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ earthbound misfit

Oh, we can only hope. What a wonderful Christmas present for our troops. While they won't be home yet, this will have to be a less stressful Holiday for them, knowing their efforts are paying off and that this whole mess could soon be over. GOD bless our Military!!
