If the bed cover is high enough - why bother to buy a tent, chuck an air mattres in the bed and use it as a mobile home.

Literally -- watched the rain blow by yesterday then the clear skies came (YEAH!) 15-25 mph, gusts higher, OK maybe Sunday. Sun morning - load one -- winds aren't tooo bad (yeah right). it is cold! we could see our breath at 6000 feet - and the heat was on in the skyvan. Anyway we took the spot about .8 miles form the dz and everything was fine -- except one of the stilletos folded in at about 50 feet, luckly re-inflated and everyone was OK. gusts to 25 mph. my fingers were froze (gloves and liners on) -- as were everyone elses (the saving grace - 15 points in time, 24 points total). by the way-- the two crossfires on the load were rock steady - go figure. We decided to sit out and wait... the rest of the day was pretty typical skydiver stuff (Golden Knights had two twin otters come by to pick up the demo team -- gave them a Cross Keys send off) -- Kelly got me with a double titty twister (that hurt), we reverse pied my teammate Scott - it was his Bday so we got him a cake, he actually bent down to pretend to blow out the candles and well, his face ended up in part of it -- it is VERY funny replayed in slow motion. When we decided to call it a day the winds were gusting to 32mph -- arrrggghhhhh. Oh well next weekend is only 4.75 days away!

oh yeah, everyone looked forward to that coming out -- was like the Forum, only your couldn't write back. We especially liked the gossip area. It was a fun little one pager.

FYI... thought I'd pass this along -- as always, your milage may vary. I've taken two trips on commercial airlines in the last two weeks, one into Newark, one into Philadelphia, both out of Orlando. Security was tight, but not overly so. In orlando on Friday I pulled into Satallite parking at 5:15, and was at the gate, ticket in hand at 5:35. The airport was pretty quiet -- no mater when I've been in there, but all flights I've been on have been full - the guy told me they were overbooked 1000 people on Saturday -- I can't figure that one out. Anyway, all carry on luggage, no problems at all. My rig (one of them) came back wiht me today as a carry on -- right through. Newark security is about the same as it was previous to the changes (they didn't let non-ticketed people to the gates before). Philly is a whole different story, waited in the security line 45 minutes, but was able to walk to the first gate and get on an earlier flight w/ 4 minutes to spare. Philly airport was actaully just a busy as I've seen it on a Sunday night in the past. I guess that's a good sign... points to remember -- my rig as a CYPRES, remove your hook knife! shouldn't be a problem carry on. I use a very nondesript gear bag however, which may help. security varies greatly from area to area, make sure you are early enough.

According to the folks that were on the jump -- there was a plan to geek the camera for those few and get some pics. guess they got more than they bargined for. According to the Daily Vibe (newsletter at nationals), they were grounded for the rest of the meet.

my bad I was referring to the big way multiple fire -- a lot of cutters that week eh?
-
ummmm, Paul it happened AFTER 4 way was completed.

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh never mind

Mike, thanks for the level headed response. I for one am interested in hearing the conclusion of their investigation (and not something another manufacturer has to say). Please keep the group informed. Dave

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHAAAAAAAAA. I was on that load (or at least in the boarding area - and no I didn't just run over to talk to Bagel), I remember it well. I guess I know who she is now. Oh, Bagel is the person in charge of the loading area at Cross Keys for those that don't know him.

I would highly recommend you not partially collapse anything when packing... people who have done this report unusual openings (after they catch their breath and visit the chiroprator). who did your line mods and why? short brake lines from the cat's eye to the canopy will cause issues (not to mention result in a very sensitive flare point)

that's not the story Jetstream has.... :)

See, thats a benefit of learning at a C-182 DZ, you're never really weathered out until the ceiling gets below 1800 feet. of course with today's slower opening canopies you may want a little more elevation, we used to go up and stick the tail of the plane at the ceiling base and have accuracy competitions.

i don't think Stacy is going. During the competition, no competitors may make a skydive unless it's in the competition. thems the rules (there will be plenty of fun jumping going on). Oh at our website there are a couple of pictures of Stacy ([url]http:www.teamjetstream.com[\url]) in the images area... I think there may be a couple on [url]http:\\www.frefalladventures.com[\url] also (she's webmaster)

those numbers are very hard to come by -- Stacy had to work very hard to procure that one.... just ask umm, er, never mind. playmate - which attachment?

abso-stinking-lutely aplications with appropriate pictures will gladly be received by yours truely

My teammate works accross the street from the World Trade center... http://www.teamjetstream.com/wtc/ are some pictures he took last week when he was allowed back in. (there are a bunch - he was glad he had a memory stick) Thought I'd share them with you all (he is OK with that).

I'll get you some stickers -- there are a few nice targets around DeLand
-
I was going to grab some for you to hand out :)

Was your canopy on the list that Bob "grounded"?

in reply too: Anyone going to Eloy for Nationals?? Are ya plannin on jumpin while there and if so anyone traveled with there rig?? Not sure yet what days I'll be there but most likely wed, thurs, fri?? ,, Monk??? I bet about 70-80 teams are for 4 way, maybe 10-15 for 8 way, then you got 10 way, 16 way, canopy formation and then freefly, and I think even skysurf. My guess would be a lot of people are travelling there with their rigs (it would suck to only be able to do one round of competition). Actually -- all kidding aside -- if you aren't competing, you'll wish you were, the energy level is quite high. It's fun (speaking from a competitor perspective)!

Fruce - Dave here from Jetstream -I can pick them up and bring them down and hand them out in DeLand this weekend if you want.

I'm pretty sure Ellington (CPI) in Ct has a tuffet -- Marylou practices there most often. If you keep the peas turned over they aren't to bad, but a lot of work. I landed at the edge of the pit once, about broke myself in half

it is scarry.... ancedotal story: the DZ where I learned (cessna 182) you had to learn to spot, it was a pretty tight DZ with weird winds. Any way, there was a guy visiting from a "green light" DZ - he was most experienced on the load, so he was going to spot. Pilot says you can have the door -- he opens it gets out and goes, everyone else waited the mile and gave the left hand correction needed :) it was pretty funny (they did go out and pick his humbled butt up though)
