Solly is an excellent coach, very easy going, Doug Park is also -- he and Joey Jones pretty much developed the tunnel training program when it first opened. They are good. If you have never been to the tunnel -- go with a coach -- you need a plan, just think of all that air going by you as Dollar bills, don't waste any! Solly, Doug, Joey, Shannon Pilcher all work out of DeLand. they are all highly recommended (and sought after). Doug was our coach this year. you can put four people in the tunnel, but you should work your way up to that. You should see Solly -- he got nailed in the eye this past weekend creeping. It ended up closing shut -- swelling -- it's a nasty looking black eye. He kept jumping though -- they actually taped it open on the way up to altitude. The video of that is pretty funny (last load everyone on the plane put tape on their left eye in tribute).

they only moved the cascade down a few inches? That's interesting cause they removed the cascade from mine -- the A/B goes all the way to teh risers. you are right, it made front riser pressure heavier. I've flown mine (intentionally) behind other canopies (for the wake turbulence) and it is solid. Mine's been in every conceivable wind condition and has been solid. I noticed the openings became a little more sporty though after the mod.

DeLand is all about team training, especially during the week. You need to book your coaches (if you're going to use them) now, though. I know at Sebastian "XL" is probably available for coaching. Deland has PD Blue, Majik, and others that can coach floating about. I can't speak about Sebastian as I haven't been there (yet), but DeLand rocks.

I didnt' know you could see the Idiot at anytime given the state of consciousness one is usually at there :)

I think Kelly is on her way to Az (Eloy in specific) and is taking a Northern route. Stacy -- she's been hanging at the Village Idiot and Puck Fair -- I dont' think she can see straight enouhg to drive anymore .

At least you had the sense to turn off your CYPRES

Jump it -- when it's time for a re-line send it to PD, they do a full inspection at that time anyway. If you're concerned about the spots, your rigger could also put patches on. If it passed the tear test you should be good to go. We found a canopy in the woods, had been there over a year, that thing ripped like an old towel -- we had a lot of fun with it at the season ending party a few years ago (ripped it to shreds).

I typically use a pull up cord to close any rig...... Isn't Mel or Stacy or PJ around teh DZ? or Stuey or Tim or Adam? they coudl help you out in person.
-
hey Chris, I tried to go there, but still no connection....

you can find ALL that information and some really good skydiving tips ( and instruction, too), by visiting your local drop zone/skydive center/prachuting club. why dont' you start there? you could also look up prices on teh web.. there are many dealers.

5'11"????? to tall for a chick.... everything else is pretty good though ( in person too ;))
-
what options did you end up getting?
-
I've got a G3 with the backpad and love it (10-12 training jumps per day need a little padding at times). I wish I had the Unisyn option available when we got our gear. I've had a chance to look at it in person, it's using "soft" laterals, and the padding goes all the way around them and also to behind the chest rings.
-
possible yes - practical, no... why bother when you can carry the rig on no problems?
-
wanna bet? my hook knife could be a formitable weapon if you just turn the blades around -- it only takes 2 screws.... my hook knives got checked in luggage (rigs on board though)!!!

gotta watch out for that to, cause coming OFF the thermal can cause you to pick up some serious forward speed. the hanger roof at Cross Keys is black, and farily large, and typically the prevailing wind direction allows a set up over the building, but as soon as you get off the "lift" you get a pretty good dive - alomst like a front riser. gotta watch out for that.
-
wellll... I AM here (for now anyway :)). Dick's sporting goods may have what you need in the camping section also
-
where to find that's easy... just ask you're local ski instructor.... on the web: Eastern Mountain Sports, L.L. Bean, www.fitfanatics.com, reliable racing (inside edge), www.wickers.com, helly hansen, Damart or any number of other outdoor winter activity sites will work. Nike ACG stuff is actually really good, too (although a bit expensive). We were at DeLand once for a training camp, and my teammate Joe was cold -- looked everywhere for the thermals (in DeLand), he ended up buying panty hose, which worked pretty good (for him -- I didn't go near that one).

in response to.... even if there were no proof of x-fire modifications, it seems that this is standard company practice for icarus. jyro stated "well everybody does it" in response to my comment that it is unethical to seamlessly release modifications like this. my response was "well not atair". so Dan, you are stating that you have never modified a particular design after it's release?

Unfortunately, Alex and Seth were at the Steve and Joann's house and the video got in the VCR -- I believe Alex has a copy, not that you will get it mind you, but that kind of scares me... now the one from Geraldo, that's a different story :)

Firestone/Ford for instance....
-
didn't that article also state it was a cross braced 9 cell canopy? that right there should throw up some red flags
-
there wasn't a tweeking opportunity, though, darn it all. But, Kelly started the whole thing anyway (she got me good).

OK, I can't believe the secret is out!!! actually though, there wouldnt' be much notification at all LOL..... to answer the original question. www.omniskore.com will have a running commentary on the show, live scoring, plus pics and photos and probably some video. www.skyleague.com may also have some commentary and scores. Last year Paige was there covering for Dropzone.com, too :).
