  1. http://www.skydiveu.com/ the search is a really good event, you should check it out (and it will get you at least a little warmer in the winter)
  2. well, she tried her best to do a head down exit, but I had a pretty good hold on her, so that wasn't going to happen

    Body Postions

pretty much got it, with the exception of the hands under the breast bone. you actually have them out in front of your face like you're catching a football thrown at your forehead.
  4. Oh no, the kiss was much better.
  5. Yup, I was the lucky one to get her first kiss pass on her 200th jump!!!

    Weekend Numbers

if have that little short circle looking thing (the one page map), it is pretty good at telling you how to add them. Basically you have to get into the set menu and add itin thre somewhere, I just did it a month or so ago.
  7. well, if you were walking I'd say leave now!
  8. There was a guy at CK's that did all seven levels with Kruse in one weekend. It was actaully fairly early in the afternoon on Sunday for his level seven too. I wasn't so lucky, learned in the fall in upstate NY, many wind holds. Of course guys that work in the tunnel can complete all the free fall level requirements in 1 jump (of course actaully pulling and landing a canopy is a whole different story!
  9. and by the same token, baseball, basketball, cricket, water polo, lacross, tennis, and every other stinking sport is illogical. someone(s) at some time decided that the rules, size of court, number of bases, height of the basket, the number of wickets, etc were what they were and would determine the winner. We who actually compete in 4way do not like the proposal to limit rounds, working time, and take the exit out of the equation, it does not make the sport spectator friendly, it (shorter working time) would actually test teams less (take memory out, take mirrors out, etc). you can call anything illogical, it's easy to sit back and say that doesn't make sense to me, but be that as it may, the competitors in this areana actaully can have a voice, and that voice is overwhelmingly in favor of the competitions as is (the latest World Cup is prime example with all the standing changes). Your point is moot because every sport is based on an arbitary guideline and development.

    Pie-worthy

    aaaaccckkkkkkk I can't resist, you're killn me!!!!
  11. oh I'm sure you've heard the stories....
  12. camera flying call me for any of the other needs though. Although it would be nice to be the missle instead of the target
  13. RIGHT! switch to Go Fast! made by skydivers (and formulated to taste good with vodka)
  14. True enough. I had assumed that they would be a serious team, training at least 3 out of every 4 weekends, doing as many jumps as the day would allow each weekend. All that and representing the DZ favorably at competitions. To the original poster, please don't think that my suggestion is the sure fire way to get anything, it isn't, but I still think it's more likely than getting a dime from the manufacturers. - Jim I would add (not directed at Jim) that you must live up to your end of the bargin. Discounts on gear and jumps all year, will require a commitment and give-back on your part.
  15. short answer, not enough to live on.....
  16. But the dive pool itself is arbitrary both in type and number of formations and blocks. It changes from year to year. What is so special about exhausting an arbitrary sized dive pool? If they went to 3 rounds, the dive pool could be smaller and they could still exhaust it. Your argument is not logical. and neither are yours, but that's the way it goes I guess.
  17. esp if you like fireworks... http://www.maylin.net/Fireworks.html
  18. and dont' forget about all the cool people that live here!!!
  19. Absolutely - and it doesn't matter how many rounds. You just prepare for whatever it is, and by definition the winning team is the "best". but to determine the "best" you need to exhaust the whole dive pool (4& 8 way) that lends itself to a 10 round meet. so there you have it.
  20. that stinks, but really, better now than later, you can cause severe enough damage that a knee replacement is necessary, and they only last 10-15 years, so having that done young is not a good thing. curious to see what they find in there (it strikes me as odd that they will scope with all the swelling though)
  21. I hope you're not the dude in that pic -- definately some fall rate there!
  22. not totally work safe.... advice from eBay if you're going to auction something off....
  23. But prepared for what? The 3 round competition or the 10 round competition? the team that's mentally, physically and emotionally prepared the best for one may not be best for the other. Besides, how do you differentiate between team A that's physically the best, team B that's emotionally the best, and team C that's mentally the best; one team may not be best in all areas. When you "and" these attributes, how do you actually combine them and design a contest to ensure that the team with the "best" combination wins? prepared for the competition as the rules are written for that particular event. you train for the event you are going to compete in, if you are not strong in any of those areas it will come out in the end. If you are not strong in those three areas I mentioned you will not win a FS competition against others who are. FS is a combination of everything, mental, physical and emotional -- each affect the other -- nervous? it will affect you physically (get stiff), negative thoughts? -- will affect you physically as well. tired -- may make you mentally weaker.... fail in any of the areas and you will not win that competition.
