Well, that's ridiculous because I saw footage of the naked suspect very much alive handcuffed and being put into a squad car. They had stripped him to ensure he didn't have any sort of grenades or detonators on him. The footage ran on CNN. And it was trustworthy. I saw that too, on foxnews and another channel. (I'm a horrible channel flipper, never watch just one thing). But later there were reports of suspect being in an ambulance. It's been tested and works fine. So does analysis of the material without taggants. Also, please stop misleading people. The taggants in the McFillin/Allen case were used as evidence, but they did not lead LEOs to the suspect. LEOs already had the suspect before the taggants produce results usable in the investigation. They merely were used to track the explosives back to manufacturer and dealer. It helped seal the conviction in court, but was not the vital investigative tool you are implying. The same things could have been done (and is regularly done today) by checking records of dealers to see who they sold to. Finally, you need to accept that gun powder is significantly different from the explosives those studies considered. First, modern powder is not what you would call an explosive. It deflgrates, which basically means it burns. It doesn't qualify as high explosive. I agree, but that's not what the law says. It's "implied consent" and refusing a sample leads to significant negative consequences without any adversarial proceedings or further due process. And, like we've all agreed on, refusing to provide a sample for breath testing is just going to lead to them getting a warrant for blood and you license being automatically suspended/revoked.
