  1. Who says it isn being done? While FBI isn't as famous for its programmers as NSA, DIA, NRO, and other alphabet soup folks, they're no slouches either. For all you and I know, the FBI have every picture available entered into a 3D model of those two blocks and sequenced for time. Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean the Feds don't have it. We know for a fact they have lots of video that hasn't been released to the public. Why should the model be any different? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  2. First, it has been done in plenty of large cities at major crime scenes. Actually I'm pretty sure I saw a system neon set up near the finish line in one of the later pics. As for the Boston scene including all the news and amateur shots, the biggest problem I see is that no one is stationary. The people would all change location depending on time, and most of them probably have enough internal clock variation to make it more difficult. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  3. FLIR isn't the only manufacturer. Draeger, MSA, and other good ones are out there, as well as a bunch of junk. I used MSA with a local volunteer fire dept, and it was high quality. I also used Samsung junk with a pelco system (admittedly years ago) that made me think only DOD had anything worth having. It seems like NV gear advanced faster than IR, though I don't have the back ground to know why. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  4. CNN is going on about your same point right now. (I'm looking back st NYPost and mirror and I can't believe it, even from them) Also The Anatomy of a Misinformation Disaster witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  5. Here's the thing I don't get: Most people who support capital punishment are the first ones to tell you how the government never gets it right and we need less government power. Once they recognize how often the government screws the pooch, why would you want to give them that power? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  6. You're not tearing it up. You're statements are much worse. You're shitting on it, crumpling it up, pissing on the founding fathers' graves, and telling our enemies "job well done, we'll take it from here." Forgive me for saying that's a fucking awful idea, and piss off. Let the law work. That's what it's there for. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  8. For once, it's really not the poitician's fault. Unless you count judges as politicians (in NC they are elected). witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  9. When did things change to where we arrest people for unwise decisions and bad attitude on charges that don't (as far as I can tell) exist in Texas law? Whiskey tango foxtrot, over. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  10. That's cruel and unusual. Sticking a hellfire down their throat is one thing, but siccing extra-jurisdictional lawyers on them must violate all war crime conventions and treaties. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  11. Yeah, that's the "brandishing" law in NC. Without assault by pointing, you still need some conduct indicating he means to terrify people. Walking around with a slung rifle in a place you're not barred from carrying is not going to meet the standard. This officer in Texas lost his composure, was spewing legal gibberish, and made his whole department, and by extension every American LEO, look really bad. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  12. What about citizens of foreign nations who attack American targets overseas? Particularly when the foreigner is citizen of nation A, and the attacks were in nation B. what if A and/or B can't or won't turn over the foreigner? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  13. So theft of information is worse when you do it for foreign handlers, but murder or destruction are not? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  14. What about when it goes from espionage (theft of info) to physical attacks? Not all attacks on people and property are attributed to foreign powers. Not necessarily disagreeing, just asking your view point. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  15. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Pastorius And the difference is they were acting on behalf of, and under the direction of, another nation. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  16. There is a picture of someone (looks to me like the suspect) climbing out of the boat under his own power. Also, the suspect was definitely alive enough to try to poke through the boat wrap liner. I'm fairly sure he was injured in the shootout before the big perimeter, and I'm guessing he caught at least one round in the flurry of shots when he was found. The Feds on site were not going to let the die once he came out alive. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  17. A permanent ban might do it, but I doubt even that would work. I bet he'd just carry on at another victim forum. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  18. The problem is that the Geneva Convention specifically limits its protections to soldiers with certain characteristics. Uniform, insignia, etc. What do you do with non citizen attackers who go after US targets outside US jurisdiction? It's irrelevant to this case; the bomber in custody is a US citizen who committed a crime on US soil; criminal proceedings are in order (I'd rather discuss why he was given citizenship, but everyone seems to be glossing over that) witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*

  20. Nice. Too many bought those cheap POS machines and wrongly branded all rowers as junk. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  21. SCOTUS created the exemption. Judges review it's use. The entire idea is to discover or defuse IMMINENT threats to public safety. They are not going to insert a judge or hearing before allowing questioning. Also, the use of the exemption will be reviewed by a judge, and if it was improper, a judge will exclude the questions. Too broad a use will lead to SCOTUS reviewing their ruling. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  22. His rights still exist. Nothing is suspended. The point of the Quarles exception is to ask about imminent threats to public safety. He still has his Miranda for every other kind of question. Think of the 4th amendment. There are exemptions. Motor vehicle, abandoned property, etc. the gov using one of them doesn't diminish your other rights, or the rest of 4A protections. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  23. At least with the Tinker case, Des Moines stated in advance that wearing the arm bands was against the rules. (they were wrong to make it so, but at least it was an issue of enforcing established rules) With the eighth grader and the hunting rifle shirt, there wasn't even a rule against the shirt. It sounds like someone took issue with the shirt, and that school employee caused the disturbance that interrupted school, not the boy. Unconscionable. witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
  24. Charlie Manson said the devil made him do it. This 19 yr old blew people up. Who cares why. And why better alive than dead. He certainly didn't give his victims any choice. In fact, they were planning on even more killing but plan got interrupted due to being spotted. It was good Feds got him, as if MA got him he'd only get life. MA doesn't have state death penalty for murder, only life without parole. First, take your hate and bloodlust and shove it. I don't like yours any better than his. Second, his motivations are important because you need to know your enemy. Dismissing his motivation is doing your security a disservice. Third, alive there is a chance he will answer questions which could lead to other involved parties or information that will help predict or prevent other bombers. Fourth, you have no idea whatsoever what they were planning. I'm really freaking sick of you just making shit up. Fifth, it's still possible he will only get life. Sixth, don't act like it was a race to see who would catch him; state, local, and federal agencies were working together to catch him, and I'm sure they discussed in advance who would take him once he was caught. Seventh, do you wonder why it is that people here would be happier if you would just go away? Does that ever impact your train of thought? witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
