I thought about it and if I was 20 years younger no way would I even contemplate it but I will be 41 this year. I am also 6'2" 230 lbs and the only realistic way for me to base would be to get my own gear as none of the locals have gear that would be safe for me to jump off the potato bridge with. So I can live with my decision not to and the most important thing my Daughter and Son and my Wife just might live with me a little longer. Rental/student gear may not be the wisest choice to be trying to freefly in. Talk to your/a instructor before attempting to freefly in any gear that you are not 100% sure is freefly friendly. Thanks everyone. As I said I really like my wings rig even though it was bought used and "off the shelf" it fits soo nice BUT since I am being "allowed"(see bonfire) to buy a new container I want to buy one that is not only going to be built for me but has the newest technology and I want to support Bill Booth whom IMO is constantly working and thinking how to keep us knuckleheads alive I think I am just going to go ahead and order the Vector with the skyhook. Ok here is where I am. I am going to order a new container. I have a wings now I bought used and there is nothing wrong it is just green and black and since I ordered a new Sabre2 210 that is black and red I want a new container that matches the canopy and my jump suit to put it in. I really like my wings and thought about ordering a second but the Sky Hook Option of the Vector has been on my mind for sometime now. I also like the Magnetic risers but I don't think they have them for my size container I would be ordering. So what I am hoping is some opinions. Here are my stats 6'2" 230lbs jumping a Sabre2 210 PD 193R Or possibly putting an R Max in this one. Money is not a concern as this will probably be the last rig I buy new for many many years and i want to do it right. Everyone including manufactuers includinh Mr. Booth are welcome to comment/try to sell me on what they think is best. I am ordering a container monday and really want as much feedback to check against what I am already leaning towards.. that is a really subjective statement. I bet for you that sounds like a HUGE canopy, for me that would be a 1.87 wing loading. A better statment might have been "i'm at 1.xx wing loading with 1200 jumps".....Not trying to rip on ya but just throwing canopy size may not be the best approach. :) MAKE EVERY DAY COUNT Life is Short and we never know how long we are going to have. I hear this alot but everything I have heard and read is the reserve is designed to open no matter what your body position is and actually opens cleaner in a feet to earth orientation. I weigh 240 (265 our the door) now but going through AFF I was down to 230. I was on a 240 NAV when I finished AFF and was jumping a Spectre 230 for awhile before I got a great deal on a used 260 canopy which I put 300+ jumps on. I have a Sabre 230 in my rig right now but have a Sabre2 210 on order that should get here the end of march. I really wanted to go with a 190 but my wife said NO. Guess I will have to wait another 400 jumps to downsize again. Anyway what does your DZ have for rental? Saw it live yesterday. Was pretty cool. He was in square one when we was finishing up buying a canopy today. He said he figured he got 270 at the top and deployed around 245 or something like that (don't qoute as I was just listening to him talk). Sounds like he is pretty stoked about the "stunt". Guess his phone is rining off the hook with everyone wanting a piece of him.
