Congratulations! You lucky SOB. No wait not lucky, hard working? No wait, hard playing, that's it. Man, paid to skydive. What a friggin life. Free tunnel time, free gear, free skydives, plus a paycheck. You suck/rock dude. I am so very envious of you right now, I could just spit.

Miami, say it right. Because I am a fat ass and cannot slow my fall rate down I have a butt load of material that is designed to slow me down. Including extra bootie (oh man - that sounds funny).

Again, I gotta ask, A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT? REALLY?
sdgregory replied to quade's topic in The Bonfire
Okay I am going to commit my pet peeve. I am going t0 post my view without looking to see if anyone has posted the same idea because I just can't keep up with the thread Someone asked me how I felt about this because I am a so-called "Born-again Christian". I have had to think about this a lot because I had to wonder what my take should be. Please bear with me I may get long winded but I feel what I have to say is important. Here is the problem I am having. My faith tells me the Bible is true. My beliefs (and they are not up for debate because they are my personal beliefs and I will not change them for anyone other than God telling me to) say that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. Arguments to that are that it was written by man and that it has been over translated, blah, blah, blah. I say, God is powerful enough to keep His Word true no matter how much we humans try to screw it up. That said, this means that when in the New Testament the Bible says that homosexuality is a sin, then it is a sin. WAIT! Keep reading. The Bible also lists about 1400 other activities, omissions, commissions, what have you, which are also sins. It says that if a man misses any one of those laws he is guilty of breaking ALL of the LAWS. He also says that there is not one human who has not broken at least one of the laws. Therefore, according to God we are all homosexuals, sodomites, liars, thieves, adulterers, murderers, etc. And the punishment he deals out is the same for everyone. So what is my point? Well, as a Christian I believe that same sex marriages are wrong. I believe them to be against God. YOU do NOT have to believe the way I do. This is what I believe. Now since I believe that same sex marriages are wrong do I believe that they should be outlawed? NO! I do not. Nor do I believe we should pass some resolution to allow them. Just because someone is gay does not mean I will dislike them or hate them or ostracize them In fact I have a friend who is becoming very dear to me, who posts here who happens to be a lesbian. Why can I do this and call myself Christian? Because when Jesus came to earth to live, he called the lowest of society his friends, not the so-called righteous. I am by no means righteous, and I am by no means right even half of the time. Ask my wife she will tell you I am right almost never. I am a sinner. I say things I know are wrong. I make posts that I know God would not approve of. I do things that are as much sin as homosexuality. I am not proud of that it is just a fact. I am a sinner saved by the Grace of my Father. I am a man who has been so loved by God that He took the steps to reconcile me to Him. I am a human who has been called to love all people, even those that five years ago I would have deemed unlovable. I am not given the power to judge people, nor am I given the power to sentence them, only to love them, no matter where they are in life. For this reason, I am against this Constitutional Amendment because I do not believe it is coming from a position of Love. I have no idea where it is coming from. As I said, I think same sex marriage is wrong, but so is foul language, lying, adultery, excessive drunkenness, hypocrisy, stealing, murder, unkindness, and a whole slew of others I can list that I am personally guilty of. What right do I have to judge any one of you? And what right to I have to force you to follow my will? That is not how Jesus worked, and I do not think that is how I want My Country, who I have defended, to work either. I think this is a waste of our time and energy when some many other more important issues need our attention. And I think GWB just lost my vote. I apologize for the length of this and I hope you all read all of it before you judge any part of it. -

What Is With the Sue Threads?
sdgregory replied to jmpnkramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You are now assuming that the DZ is tking responsibility here. This is what many are saying. The DZ's that are not going to knowingly put you at risk assume responsibility for their employess and aircraft and gear. There are many business owners, however, that are looking to make a buck any way they can, and I would venture to say there are some DZO's who would do the same. Not many, but to say they do not exist is fooling yourself. Your very statement here shows that you trust the DZ to take care of you. You are therefore not assuming certain risks in your mind because in your mind those particular risks (like stoned pilots) do not exist. A DZ allowing their pilot to fly drunk would be knowingly putting your life in danger A DZ that deliberately cuts corners for a buck is definitely knowingly putting your life in danger and is one we need to be protected from. Lawsuits are one way to do that. Unfortunately there are many who would sue for any reason, and it would be the respectable DZO's who would get hurt. I would not knowingly get on a plane I thought was unsafe, or jump gear packed by someone I did not feel was responsible. But if I did do so knowingly then yes I would have to accept that I signed that waiver. The risks I am knowingly willing to assume are malfunctions, possible collisions with other skydivers, honest aircraft failures, hard landings, hard openings, crashes due to wind shear, honest errors by people, because honest mistakes are part of the risk we assume. I am not knowingly willing to accept the risk of drunk or stoned staff during working hours. If I know that is going on I will not jump there, but sometimes it is hard to tell and in that case when everything sinister is well hidden, we should be protected from that. Whatever form the protection comes in. The more we have discussed this issue, the less likely I believe I would be to sue, and I certainly would rip into anyone sueing frivolously. But in a legitimate case of deliberate negligence I would not trash the person who felt it truly necessary to sue. -
when did your latest skydive take place ?
sdgregory replied to gerryfuss's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I just have to say 54% OF YOU PEOPLE SUCK!!!!!!!!! -
Okay, I'm sorry, but everytime I hear skyhook I want to laugh. When I was in the Marines and in the trades I would always send the new guys to go get me a sky hook. 99.9999% of the time they were so green they actually had no clue and would walk around asking people where the sky hook was. One guy actually asked so many people that the word got around and we kept him occupied for over 3 hours before letting him off the "HOOK". So now I must ask . . . and feel stupid later . . . is this for real?

Ditto. Actually I sometimes read the results first because I have no intention of voting but then I decide later, what the heck. Or if it is a poll I could not care less about I vote for the option thast has the least votes just to mess up the numbers BWAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Negative. Catfish MUST be deep-fried in cornmeal batter. The damn fish is just a placeholder for good batter and bacon-fat modified lard. That damn fish could hold up a lot of crispy fried cornmeal batter deep fried in beef suet (sp?) and bacon grease. Oh nummy. Agreed. And usually they are just too damn much work to bother with. Although I bet this one would have plenty of meat on it to warrant the work. As others have said though. The larger catfish tend to taste more like their environtment and the "crap" they eat. I wonder how this one would taste blackened though.

See that because Havoc owners are truly unique people! Even our similarities are different hehe. Actually, the nose thing is there because I have a seriously huge nose that not only creates a lot of drag but is a distraction for my fellow skydivers. That nose thing just helps them keep there attention on the task at hand.

Actually, it is my experience that the written word comes off softer than I intend it. I am an asshat and yet somehow I come off as being nice and tactful, or so I have been told. Why can't you people get my written tone right? I think you are all asshats. Especially the "kermit" people. In fact I fart in your general direction. You filthy wipers of other people's bottoms!

So what kind of accident was it? Did he "nail someone in the rear" while getting head? He musta had his "Head Light" on.
-
Woah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anybody wanna BASE?
-
Because when you can't actually see the person or hear their voice you tend to forget that they are real people with feelings. I think we are all guilty of it to some extent or another. Sucks. I just hope if I act like a jackass that someone will let me know and that I will apologize for any transgression.

Here's one. I faked it once. I was not going to get there anytime soon, I was actually beginning to chaif and well, it began to stop being enjoyable so I faked it. The next day I was in so much pain. That's what happens when I try to get some after drinking a bottle of wine.
