This irks me. Note for anyone coming to my house: If you ever are a guest I have but one request When you pee, be neat, Just sit on the seat You save yourself quite a mess. Now I know, occassionally the flow decides to come out sideways. And you never know when this will happen. Why, when it is clearly NOT a urinal, do you have to stand? Living in my home, before my son was born, I was a man in a house with three chicks. Knowing the propensity for splatter and sideways shots (having to twist my body to get the aim right) I decided it was easier to just sit to pee. Just because I can stand does not mean I have to. This has done a couple of things. I no longer have to clean a mess if I miss or splatter, I never miss, and I never leave the seat up. My daughters and wife have never had to deal with it. When my son was born I trained him with this mentality. Now occasionally we go out and write our names in the snow because we can. It is cool, we are guys and why not do it? We will use unrinals if one is available. But we always sit on the toilet, for common courtesy to the ladies.

Oh I am very happily married. But, well, okay . . . I am ashamed. I could not make up a good excuse.

The natural gas supply is equally as limited as the oil supply. Natural gas pockets tend to be in pockets above the cerrigan (sp?) that is the gooey mess that becomes oil. And to convert all the power plants in the world to Natural Gas would cost a bloody fortune. Not to mention all the recovery boilers that work off coal and wood. To give up fossil feuls would require a bigger change than you can possibly imagine. It is more than just transportation and electricity that would have to convert. It would require changes in design in every aspect of the energy generating proccess. Sootblowers, water lances, boiler systems, recovery systems. Now let's add automotives, boating, aeronautics, cranes, tractors, etc. . . . the list is endless. And you still have the problem of a limited energy supply with natural gas. Many companies are working on changes. And for those who try to throw out those corporate conspiracies, get a clue. You have no idea how many companies are out there trying to make things work with cleaner emissions, cleaner feuls, and better non-fuel motors. There are all kinds of problems with the design process that occur. It is not as simple as changing froma florescent to a halligen bulb by changing a couple of pieces of hardware and a bulb. There are all kinds of physics and engineering problems that must be overcome, especially to do it so that it is relialbe, user friendly, and easily fixable. Also, what may work with a Honda Civic, most likely won't work with a Kenworth W9. And it certainly will not work with an F-18 or a Super Otter. And the chances of that working with a power plant are even slimmer yet. There are many engineers out there that take an oath to do what is right for the environment and the consumer. They work their butts off trying to solve these problems that so many think are so easy but for the wicked evil government and its support of fat cat oil barons. If you think it is so easy then you do it. Show us how it is done. Don't just spout off at the mouth.

I used to only watch the Gators and the Seminoles play in college ball but would watch every pro game I could get my set to tune in. I still watch pro-ball but I find college to be much more fun. Especially now that I am a Buckeye. Of course by admitting that, I immediately associate myself with Clarrett. But we don't give a rip about him anymore. I just like the whole atmosphere of college ball better. To quote DJatLarge my sentiments exactly.

Come sit in the Shoe and watch the Buckeyes take the field. Big Ten Football IS football.

Soccer sucks. Hockey and Football are the best sports out there. NO, wait, skydiving is the best sport. Football and Hockey run second (tied). Now ostriches? They are dumb. So is the dodo bird. Dumb as a bag of hammers.

Isn't global weather shifts the norm for the earth? We just came out of an ice age so by definition the globe should be warming. Good thing I trust in God to provide. I do not have to worry about this kind of stuff. Besides, life is too short to worry about things beyond our control. And who is willing to do the right thing and lower their emissions? YOu gonna give up the 500 needless trips to altitude each year?

Damn that sucks about the beach jumps. Wonder if I can get 160 jumps by March 19th? Oh well, guess I will ride out there and watch you jerks swoop the beach. I'll drink margaritas then. FIFTEEN MORE DAYS TILL MY FIRST BOOGIE!

I have met quite a few low jump number people who are free-flyers. Free flying looks awesome and I would like to do it. My question is how many of you fre-flyer only people actually have done any successful RW dives? The reason I ask is because it seems that most of the newer divers that are free flyers think RW is boring and I have to wonder at 1-2 hundred jumps, how much successful RW can you have done? A question for everyone: What made you choose your discipline? What do you love about it? (This goes for everything, not just RW/Free-Fly). I am really interested. FYI: I really enjoy RW. That is where my focus is for now. The reason? My 25th jump was an 8 point 4 way that was successfully completed. OF course the other three people had over 1000 jumps each and probably did most of the work, but they would not admit it no matter how much I asked. BUt the experience was a blast!. Just to answer my own question first.

I do not care wear I am. I let it go violently. Actually kneed myself in the head a few times. The problem is that my sneezes are so violent naturally that I end up with cramped or pulled muscles in my groin and shoulders. Hurts like a bitch every time. Worse, they always come in threes.

My right, hand . . . definitely my right hand.

And for medium height men like myself . . Shorties are Heaven Sent! My highschool sweetheart was exactly my height and it really was weird to hug. I felt small. When I hold my wife, I feel more like the protector/provider that I am. Besides, we "fit" better that way.

Sorry but I have to comment. This is NOT a long drive. I am out the door at 5:50 to just barely make it to work by 7:00 THAT , my friend is a long drive.

::looks down:: Yep, suffering from dun-lap. My belly done lapped over my belt. Guess that means I got dicky-doo.

My wife is five foot nothing. I am 5'8". I can hug her and place my chin on her head. That is cool. Perfect for me. When we hug, her head lays right in my chest. Right where it should be. like I said in my post 5'0" to 5'4" = Perfect.

I have one cup of coffee every morning. That is it. My Mom drinks coffee all day. From wake to sleep. Probably somwhere around two pots. I do not understand that. One cup is plenty to wake you up. The rest borders on addiction. Do you get the shakes?

Yeah, I must say that even though I have never met her, her pics show one superkalafragilistic chica! Muy Bonita Senorita!

Well, it is not like I planned on eating it . . . at least not until I washed my hands.

Anyone ever been caught doing this? This was a picture taken while working on Future Truck at OSU. They posted it on the website. Boy is my face red.

Most important factor in choosing a DZ?
sdgregory replied to Thanatos340's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Impossible to vote this one because there it is a serious mixture of a few. Also there are other issues like how my family is treated by the people there. IF my family feels welcome and the DZ is safety conscious, and the attitude towards new flyers is one of a desire to help, and the coaches and staff really know their stuff, then the DZ is great. They coould be the safest ever and yet be terrible everywhere else and I would not jump there, or they could be great in everything but safety and I would not jump there. It is a mixture of the list you gave that is important to me. No single thing sticks out. -
Honestly, it depends on whether I pack myself or get help. I am so slow and usually start over twice before I get it done. That is what normally limits me. However my goal is always as many as I can afford. I have done as few as two and as many as 7 in one day. 5 is my average though. It also depends on whether some of my friends are there. Certain people make me uncomfortable so I just jump, no socialize. Others I am so glad to see that I might socialize more and not get as many jumps in. Once I can pack like some people I know, I will be on every plane load unless they are running hot. Then of course, when I have two rigs I might even make those too.

And how do you find out what words they are interested in?

Ha! I had pink hair once, and blue, and green and then this really cool yellow! Then I had a mix of colors. Took forever to do.

Have y'all ever looked at a piece of pineapple from the side?

If it's zero degrees outside today and it's supposed to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold is it going to be?
