I’m so sorry, you must have misunderstood the question, let me try again: Please, oh please tell me what he did to contribe, cause or in any way be responsible for any part of the economic mess. Please be specific and then tell me what he should have done. What by his admin and the stimulus? This is a scattered thought - put it together pls. The lower 50% of all filers collectively pay < 3% of the total tax bill, so their taxes are irrelevant anyway. BTW, that’s 33k gross adjusted, So we’re talking about most people on this board or people just barely over that line. Yes, taxes will increase in 2 ways: 1) Bush’s tax cuts will expire in 2010. 2) There will be additional taxes for those making > 250k/yr. If we do a Hoover and lower taxes / ignore this mess, we will have what Hoover had - 12 mill dead, of course since we have a much bigger population, that would be more like 30 mill+. 1 way to pay for this is to cut our military in ½ so we are only 4 times the spenders of #2. Ok, it’s our mess and what? You didn’t finish your point. Please show me where he said we wouldn’t go past 8%. Oh, like, “They have WMD’s in them there hills….leading to set of wars that have cost almost 5k lives and > $1T. But I don’t see you bitching about that. will you quit being a fucking apologist long enough to see he's mostly blaming the American people who really caused this by thinking we could charge our way through this. -- Rob

The statement wasn't an example of apathy. The fact of the matter is that the judicial interpretation of the Constitution is the only one that carries any legal weight. well those of us who know the difference between the words infer and imply know why I chose the word "inferred". So, you're saying that you inferred something completely different from what I wrote. Fair enough. it appears that way. I didn't want to say "you implied" because I was inferring a meaning from what you wrote. I don't want to assume I know what you're trying to say. I see others do taht here. Your last reply was entirely too classy for Speakers Corner. oh yeah? well eat shit and die you liberal commie bastard! :) -- Rob

and that right there says so much about how this country got to where it is today. Such are the consequences of having our Constitution. That's how the Founding Fathers designed the system. my point was that from the statement, apathy was inferred. Apathy is bad for this country. -- Rob

CDC: Up to 6 million swine flu cases in few months
rhaig replied to warpedskydiver's topic in Speakers Corner
It's not a big damn deal. you were the one hyping "how come they're not even testing for it anymore" my point was that they aren't typing all the influenza-A because it's all H1N1 isn't it all a govt conspiracy? Isn't that your line? They're giving us the disease with the live virus flu shot. We're contagious for 28-days after receiving it right? No it's not a big damn deal. It's only a deal if you're immune or respiratory compromised. My kids had it I've clearly been exposed (3-year old slobber machine) as has my wife. My point (which was missed apparently) is why bother to sub type all of the flu-A positives? They're all H1N1 at this point. -- Rob -
maybe that is one of the amendments that is needed. At what level does the state get to run itself? agreed... how about something along the lines of "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." full reign withing the bounds of the constitution (which defines the rights of the states to govern themselves). so I don't see how equal rights aren't possible if states govern themselves withing the reigns of the constitution. -- Rob

well I actually think that we SHOULD be slaughtering our own meat. We'd get fresher meat, local meat, and people might be a little more self sufficient. and while I agree with updating of the constitution, there is a process in place to do that, and it does not happen here, or on TV. If we as a people think there should be an update, then amend. I think first we should understand and remember. Then look at amendments. We're moving closer and closer to a single point of governance. What happened to the state's rights to govern themselves? -- Rob

so we should ignore ALL that they said? Yes, times have changed. Yes we've changed a lot since the founding fathers. So when it doesn't agree with you, call it cherry picking. I'll do the same. This actually the first Glenn Beck I've watched. I'd rather read local editorials. Same amount of opinion. -- Rob

what that says to me that all the successfully subtyped specimins were H1N1. -- Rob -
you're implying that the DU in an Abrams composite armor behaves like the armor in a T-72 (shattering). I think that is a poor assumption. -- Rob

yup!! as much as we may disagree about other things, I'm with you on that one. -- Rob

"most", in this usage, implies a majority. This implies there is an opposing minority. Given the sample size, even as small as it is, I would accept that there exists at least one dz.com reader that believes your assertions are more truthful than those of the US Army. The reasons behind that likely vary and I will not assume what they might be. -- Rob

wow.... I'm not a cliff apologist, but I'd think a greenie wouldn't be so quick to be quarrelsome over terminology he didn't use quotes, he stated he wasn't quoting, what are you trying to prove? -- Rob

I'd say so. I was born in 69, and I don't recall it (my telepathy) ever working, so the timing sounds about right. thanks for the timeline. helped make 2 things clear. I can't read minds. And you wear a tinfoil hat. -- Rob

well as you cackle on, they're seeming more credible than you (at least to most of us). -- Rob

I'm not typically one to quote verse, but: "A quarrelsome wife is like the constant dripping on a rainy day." somewhere in Proverbs 27 -- Rob

I don't know about shortages, or whether they're genuine or hype for profit. I typically don't get any flu vaccine, ever. Considering it's not particularly deadly, and i don't fall into a high risk group, I opted not to get the shot that my company provided for free. Also, I have been exposed to the disease (both my children, 3 and 6, had H1N1, tested and verified) and did not develop symptoms. I likely developed antibodies during my exposure though. So what I got is better than the shot. (except for the sneezing coughing whiney kids... which is alot like this forum actually) -- Rob

how is that relevant? Pancakes weren't an option. (they should have been... mmm... pancakes) -- Rob

in the quoted context, it looks like you're assuming I'm part of that 47%. I don't know where you got that assumption. You didn't quote any basis for that statement, so I called it a baseless assumption. Now.... reading posts you made later in time, you may have been referring to the legality of the IRS and a national income tax. Since you made no allusions to that in your post that I was replying to, and since my telepathy has been on the fritz since you started wearing that tinfoil hat, I didn't know that might have been what you meant. -- Rob

I think those statistics, are readily available, to a man, like you. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=high+school+dropout+rates -- Rob

nice baseless ASSumption I pay taxes. I'd pay more under the Fair Tax plan (fairtax.org), only slightly more but more nonetheless, and I'd rather be under that plan. -- Rob

never visited Jersey. Drove through once. It was certainly pretty country side. (we were lost and found ourselves in the wrong state) -- Rob
