the super rich not paying their fair share of taxes - and their children not doing enough of the work is wrong. that's what the majority of us think. I'd like to hear your definition of "fair share" that the super rich should pay. -- Rob -
I've had my keys given back to me. That was a mistake that I don't entirely remember. But nobody got hurt. I was lucky enough to just spend the night in jail and pay $$ through the nose. In the above situation, I was mostly an observer. Helped prank the guy, but that was it. -- Rob

we had him convinced to stay, and then he went all asshat and called the cops. then it was between him, the cops and the DZ manager. -- Rob

If that is the case then - why wouldn't it be the case now? Why wouldn't your model of "CO2 isn't the only driver of limate" be universally accepted throughout? It is universally accepted. I've never seen anyone credible say it isn't. However we can now measure the other factors and know whether they do or don't apply in this case. Well yeah - you can after the numbers get thier day at the spa, getting thier massage. the AGW folks lost me (I was skeptical but hadn't made up my mind) a long time ago. http://www.technologyreview.com/Energy/13830/ -- Rob

You're just avoiding the question but that's OK! Here are the facts . You stated that a whuffo showed up at Skydive USA and masde a jump. He hung out the rest of the day .After operations on the day of his first jump he hung around with you and "got drunk",in your presence. Later you let him drive off knowing that your newest Brother in the Sky was heading for police intervention. If that all is true , I want to be your friend. I'm sure I can help you. You may want some mentoring. Fair Winds and Unlimited Ceilings, DJ well anyone who was there knows that the dude wouldn't have let it go down any other way. so I'm choosing not to respond to your trolls. -- Rob

We haven't heard from "Lucky..." in a few months. You signed up a few months ago... hey... that explains it. The troll balance has been restored!! -- Rob

Could this have been handled differently? Was there a way you might have prevented this obviously tormented soul from having even more turmoil in his life? Just curious. There was a time when skydivers, especially first timers, were treated as family. Blues Skies, DJ hey look, you're still trolling. we were joking with him, he took it badly. The cops were not amused. They didn't haul him in for false police report (because we asked them not to), but when he refused to stay on the DZ, they arrested him for DWI. We could have told him to bugger off when the beer light came on, but we didn't. We sat with him and drank with him. He got a little dickish, moved his car onto the tarmac where some people were playing basketball, so when he was taking a leak, they moved his car to the landing area. Skydivers, like family, joke with each other. this guy just didn't take it well. quit being all Dr Phil on us. -- Rob

there was one time a whuffo showed up at skydive USA and was telling us all about what a great skydiver he was going to be (he'd done a tandem and stuck around and gotten drunk). Then he went off on cops to me. I was sitting next to a jumper who was a cop. She nudged me and winked. (I shut up) Dude just kept digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself. End of the night, the drunk-ass got pissed at us (we moved his car) and called 911 on us. The local cops (who knew us) ended up waiting for this guy to turn off the private airport road onto the public road, and then promptly arrested him for DWI. -- Rob

I'm with you up until you're not on a government run airline (subsidized yes, but not owned). You enter into a legal agreement with that airline when you purchase the ticket. You have a right to interstate travel, not commercial air travel. If you want to maintain all of your rights when you fly, buy a plane. -- Rob

You can in Texas. Not self-defense but you are allowed to shoot somebody to protect your property. Even in the back. It's not quite that clear-cut - there are conditions attached to it. If a thief is fleeing, you can only legally shoot the thief in the back if: - It is night time, - The property cannot be recovered by any other means, and - The use of less than deadly force would expose the actor to the risk of death or serious bodily injury. We had a case recently here in West Texas where a couple teen gang-bangers broke into a man's classic T-Bird and stole the stereo. The owner stepped out of his house and saw his car stereo under the guy's arm, running down the street. He fired one time, striking the guy in the butt. The car/home owner, was 'no-billed'. The thing is, the guy who stole the stereo 'could' sue the car/home owner civilly. In this case, the bad guy didn't sue. Chuck unless it's recently changed, TX has a law saying that you can't file civil suit against someone if the event you're suing about happened as a result of a crime you committed against them. -- Rob

I think he's referring to another failed promise. Politicians do that. -- Rob -
present company excepted, I've found that most atheists don't bitch whine and complain about every little thing. Perhaps because they've made a choice outside of the norm which usually requires guts and determination, so they don't give a shit about the little things. -- Rob

nor particularly directed at anyone person here.... don't be blind and ignorant, acknowledge past fuckups of those of whom you are a fan (or not), notice current fuckups of those of whom you aren't a fan (or are). They're politicians. Their job is to take and hold power. Citizens best interests only come into play anymore when it comes to keeping the politicians in power. -- Rob

politicans... all of em (republicans and democrats alike). Their job is to take and hold power. Our best interest only matter when it gets them votes. -- Rob
