  1. so you're agnostic ok. from your absolutist viewpoint you sounded like an atheist. Atheism is a belief. as in "I believe there is no god". -- Rob
  2. one thousand years ago there was no measurable evidence of gamma radiation, yet now there is. Is there a god? Maybe, maybe not. Can I prove it? No. Can I prove there isn't one? Don't try to prove a negative little boy. So the christians (and other theists) have their beliefs. And you have yours. Yes, it's a belief. -- Rob
  3. I have a whole crate of 7.62x54R that is 25+ years old. we can make a dent in that too :) -- Rob
  4. Has anyone checked HIS birth certificate Has Jerry been around any mosques??? Perhaps skyrider could check into that hey look... completely unrelated crap in response to the correct answer. Is anyone surprised? (prediction that this post will be replied to with some comment to my lack of contribution to the thread or pointing out that my post is also unrelated to the OP... anyway... back to my coffee) It is completely relevant based on GOP supporters digging into ANY and EVERYTHING about a persons past, since actually being successful at doing a job is far less important in political opponents than any "moral lapses" or percieved affiliations. Perhaps if you had looked at the past performance of running ANYTHING sucessfully might have given you a clue about how W was going to run the country. really.... I expected more of a "thread drift happens" reply from you. But no wait.... that would be if you could have let it go. sorry. and now you jump to the conclusion that I'm a W apologist. in any case, my prediction was wrong. (btw, thread drift happens. And remove the hook from your cheek.) -- Rob
  5. happy to have been a time sink I'm sure my posts have inspired as much introspection as your posts have. (both values being sufficiently close to zero) -- Rob
  6. you imply that times are better now that much of the American public is so ignorant about firearms that they declare defenseless victim zones. Do you really believe that? I didn't say times were better, just different. Keep on whining. you believe that my simple question was a whine? Have you read ANY of my posts on this matter? keep jumping to conclusions then. -- Rob

  9. I get that. (as you might have inferred from my earlier post had you employed two or three of your braincells) But I still think it's a little hinky. "I choose not to fly today and not to go through your security measures" "Nope, you crossed that imaginary line, you are not allowed to leave without possible civil penalties." Especially considering our agreement is with the airline, not the TSA. -- Rob
  10. mea culpa... been a long day. you did not. I misread. no shit. thus the speedbump in the agreement we have with the airlines (they have an agreement with the airport who has an agreement with the TSA). don't be so fucking nitpicky. -- Rob
  11. The problem I have is that you can't choose not to go through the pat down once you've entered the security area and been selected for the pat down. You may not choose to leave the security area without threat of an $11K civil suit. -- Rob
  12. It's the TSA's aircraft now is it? we enter into an agreement with the airline. Not the TSA. Passing through the TSA security checkpoint is a speedbump in that agreement. -- Rob
  13. but if you were to turn it around and say that the largest and most vocal supporters of sex crimes are christians, it would be more correct. -- Rob

    In 2011

Gee another "original" thought Plagarism is such a wonderful thing isnt it http://teapartyvets.ning.com/forum/topics/state-of-the-union-address-and?xg_source=activity Not only is this an OLD joke, it's actually about George W. Bush who actually did give his 2005 speech on February 2, 2005. The joke was actually first mentioned by the folks over at Air America. The date for the 2011 speech has not yet been set. I love how idiots recycle jokes and don't understand where they come from. I love how the rules are only for the universal some! see he didn't specifically say that you were an idiot, so it clearly can't be considered a PA. Actually I've traded PMs with quade about the definition of a PA, and he's much more sensible about it than the hard & fast rules seem to be. all in fun... -- Rob
  15. Hate to spring it to ya.. but they have been planning on military responses from the US since their country was founded. This is pretty old news .. considering my dad was shooting a bunch of chinese soldiers before I was born. ALL militaries do strategic and tactical planning scenarios. strategic planning is one thing. that's not what I was posting about. I suspect it will be an economic play, such as calling in some foreign debt. Restriction of exports is already an economic play to increase their trade importance (if done right). -- Rob
  16. if someone else wants to be the test case for this, I'm all for it. I don't have the time or money to go playing redefinition games in court. It would bring re-implementation of taxes into the realm of possibility though. meh... I have work to do... can't go dreaming. -- Rob
  17. combine this with recent constrictions in rare-earth metal exports, and the foreign debt that china holds (mostly US debt) and it becomes pretty clear they're prepping to make some sort of move. Either they're going to make an economic play and are expecting a military response or they're contemplating a military play. -- Rob
  18. well... kind of... anyone who doesn't think it's "security theater" made to make people feel good about travel, read this story. http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?section=news/local&id=7848683 -- Rob
  19. they were told to extend loans to people to whom they wouldn't normally loan money. That goes back to slick-willie. This fuck-up goes way back. -- Rob
  20. and they defaulted because the super rich coveted and then accumulated their neighbours money. at the same time they haven't paid their fair share in taxes. next they want to launder their gains tax free to their non working children. result - the economic mess we're in. no, they defaulted because they bought houses they couldn't afford under terms they didn't understand or didn't think through. Why the banks gave them loans they couldn't afford is a whole different issue. -- Rob
  21. he's just a shit stirrer. Likes to watch. I think he should start a gun thread if he really wants to stir some shit. -- Rob
  22. just pay their fair share of taxes. and their children do their fair share of the work same as the rest of us... (now about those tax havens for the super rich - how do they support us) you keep saying "fair share" without having defined it. Until you say otherwise, it looks lik you really do want them to pay 100% of the tax in the US and the non-super rich (presumably you included) pay nothing. -- Rob
  23. paying someone's slot is entirely different than paying them. If someone wanted me to coach them, and they approached me asking for a service, I only asked that they cover the slot. We usually spent 30min or so before the jump with some planning and 15min or so after with a debrief. About half the time I did that kind of jump, I bought my own slot. Almost always, there was beer shared at the end of the day. when the coaches program got launched, my rating was pretty much pencil whipped based on the S&TA's knowledge of my abilities and prior coaching experience. Still think the whole program is a way to get rating $$ from members each year. -- Rob
  24. I've said all I'll say on the matter. to recap. (nothing new here) once the guy called the cops, it was between him, the cops and the DZM, I was an observer. We had him convinced to stay the night at the DZ, then he went all asshat and called the cops because he couldn't find his car that was 100yd into the landing area instead of in the middle of the tarmac where people were playing BBall. we pranked him like we might prank each other. He just didn't take it well. -- Rob
