Electricity: $0.10 per kWh Propane: $2.20 per gallon. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Since it's in the high teens here today, this helps...a little. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

I'm with HW. As far as I'm concerned, a roman candle is a streamer on a round canopy. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Hoop, you couldn't be more correct. Thanks Skratch...for being you. Your friendship has indeed made me richer. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

I give animals human names only. I have a Vincent the cat living with me, and Leona the DZ/hanger cat still lives at the now closed DZ. It'll only take a few days for the proper name to make itself known, once the dog's true personality comes out. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

When I was DZO of the Calhan drop zone, I gave Skratch his own quiet classroom with TV/VCR, dry board and graphics. As soon as a student was cleared to jumps solo's, I made sure Skratch was the very next stop on their skydiving agenda. I don't recall ever having a student that Skratch couldn't relate to on some level, and help them make big breakthroughs. Thanks Skratch, for all you give to the rookies. Forbes list says they were made 57-59. Hmmm, no slam on you JM, but I guess Forbes list should have done some better research before posting those 'facts'. http://www.edsel.com/pages/spotters.htm The easiest way to know for sure that Edsel's weren't made in 1957, is that they came with four headlights. Look closely at the front end differences between 1957 and 1958 US automobiles, and it will soon become clear what I'm referring to. You may want to make a deal for that 1957 Edsel, since they didn't make them until the 1958 model year. (God, I hate knowing that) BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

I have a PrecisionTemp RV500 model in my converted bus, and it's awesome. Burns ZERO fuel until you need it, and is very miserly when in use. Easily worth the $1000 I paid. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Wow David, I see you have jumps out of a Cessna 170B logged around that same time in 1990. And if I recall, your sister was also married in a Cessna 170B flying along the shore of Dauphin Island. Your family must really like 170's! BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Not yes, but Hell Yes! I jumped in the 70s when there wasn't a rigger on every corner like now. I don't worry about that shit any longer. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

He's a handsome lil' rascal! Would you mind if I use him as chick bait at the DZ sometime? BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Might be dealing with his 'manpon'. BASE359' "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

DirecTV carries FOX in HD. Here is the entire DTV HD line up... http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageNR.jsp?assetId=P4380112 I can pick up FOX HD from Colorado Springs with my crank up antenna. BASE359 my friend here has direct tv and doesn't get fox in hd In my part of Colorado, and I'm sure the rest of the US as well, the DirecTV required equipment list to view FOX locals in HD... 1. HD TV, with 2. HDTV receiver 3. DirecTV HD receiver 4. 5 LNB HD DTV dish 5. DirecTV HD subscription I already have three HD wide screen TV's in my 40 foot diesel pusher bus, and regularly watch all the networks in HD, on a crank up antenna. As a gift to myself, I'll be adding all the DTV HD gear and subscription to my mobile package shortly after New Years. Don't forget to drink as much alcohol as usual. The altitude probably won't have any effect on you at all. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

In 1975 when I weighed 140lbs, and jumped at sea level, it was no problem at all. Unless there was really bad turbulence, I could always expect to stand it up. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Regarding Pic 4...You don't see many 5 cell canopies anymore. But, I still have my Strato Star from1976. BASE369 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Merry Christmas - You Old Farts . . .
JSBIRD replied to NickDG's topic in Skydiving History & Trivia
Remind me to kick you in the crotch the next time I see you, for making me watch that video and acknowledge my age. Merry Christmas to you as well, St, Nick. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything" -
Like Jim M said in his very first posts, jammed controls/cables lead to a loss of control, and had nothing to do with the intentional control locks. Here is the NTSB report of the incident http://www.ntsb.gov/ntsb/brief.asp?ev_id=40565&key=0#/ Hope this will help settle the cause issue. I never bitched about Sugar Alpha being slow on the climb...I usually needed the nap time. Looking back on it, I realize it gave me more time to hang out with some awesome people, some who are no longer with us. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"

Pic 2, in the center with glasses, white tee and shorts, is Bill Wenger, D3774. He's now serving a stint as Skydiving Coach for the US Air Force Academy. BASE359 "Now I've settled down, in a quiet little town, and forgot about everything"
