Through the 70-80-90's I dated a lot of servers (One reason I tip VERY well for good service) and learned from them that the ultimate insult to a poor server was 2 cents, left face down. I don't recall the entire insult associated with the two pennnies, but besides the amount, sharing such a pisspoor tip put you in bad stead with your coworkers. I've only felt compelled to do this once, as I usually know what I'm getting into as soon as I drive into the parking lot at a certain time of day. Riding with HIGH Main mean on is considered rude where I ride. Dipped main beam should be sufficient. Riding with your high beams on is a poor replacement for defensive riding, a hazard to other motorists, and as Shrop stated, just plain rude! If that's what it takes for a rider to feel 'safe' when sharing the road with others, I sure hope I'm not out there with you. Blinding everyone opposing you on the roadway in the name of 'your' safety comes across as quite selfish. Good luck out there. A jump pilot who reduces power below the green arc for decent, and then has to add power in the pattern, wouldn't be working for me very long. Without some more training on the proper operation of a (jump) plane, this pilot will wind up bending an aircraft...and sit there wondering "Why?" When you find an old geezer to fly you for your jump onto the homestead, be sure you have a parachute for him as well. If while climbing out of an aircraft not regularly configured for jumps, you manage to snag a handle, have a premature deployment and damage the aircraft to the point it is no longer flyabale, how would you feel watching that good old boy plummet to his death on your nickle? A buddy of mine in lower Alabama bought a Leo helmet back in the late 80s to start doing vid with. He lost it one day and the decent tape would make you sick to watch...it spun and oscillated all the way down. When he found it, it was sitting upright, running with zero damage.
