For my Canon Rebel, a 28mm f/2.8 lens is ~$230. It is very compact and light (6.5 oz 1.7 " long). On Cameraworld they have a Sigma 28 mm f/1.8 for $230 also(it is sort of big (3.1 " long, 16.9 oz). Does anyone think I should buy that "twice as big" lens for the same price just to get a bigger aperture, or will I be happier with a tiny lens with a pretty good aperture. (Girls need not answer ) all opinions appreciated. disclaimer (I am not even sure what "f" means except that I will get more light and the lens is usually more expensive if the number is lower) ramon

You do have an angel on your shoulder. I had (past tense) a friend who didn't bounce as high as you and had a lot more jumps. and modesty. Don't 1. "I have to hook every jump" this will kill you deader than Ceasar if you don't take an out. Don't 2. "I'm really going to hook it this time". Showing off will do it too. Don't 3. "The swoop lane is just a little farther over there"...target fixation..will make you low Don't 4. "I always do right hand hooks"... one day if you don't preplan your landing you may have to turn towards an obstacle and if one thing goes wrong,you plow or you collide. rule. 1 plan your hooks and outs on the ground when you see the wind direction. rule 2 if the wind changes or things are not right...turn early and take an out (or early swoop)..taking a turn low or cutting another jumper off just to get to your intended landing area is shitty, rude, and will not get you any respect only comments about when you will biff (I've been there). ramon

thanks alot....cheap laser pointer...dummy head...good idea. Hopefully the carbon top mount will fit and or fit after some heating so that it won't warp after I find the aim spot on the helmet and screw it down. ramon

Assuming I get the mindwarp top mount....for my Canon EOS. 1. The top mount probably wont mate up to the helmet properly (typical bonehead). 2. my video camera (mounted) is probably not perfectly mated since the side of the helmet is not flat. 3. How am I going to get my still camera mounted on this mess and aimed the same as my video camera? ramon

and pack it like a round.... I am guessing it will at least be slightly stable but you will have a fast descent rate with reduced flare and maybe instantaneous stalling/colapse during a flare attempt. or it might never get square due to lack of internal presssure in the now non-existant airfoil,, and might event be violent. maybe even potato chipping like old models of rounds without a port at the apex. ramon

hm....think round... try it without the slider. maybe make a diaper..... it makes perfect sense to me that it would not open without a nose as the slider is stealing air from the bottomskin but not the nose. ???? c'mon...try it ramon

I like a hop for the same reasons that you do. The worst is doing a 2-way with someone for the first time and not communicating the whether that persons steps or leans out. for a 3 or 4 way flower though you need to roll out.
