  1. hmm.. getting your feet just below the entry gate at maximum centripital force pulling the risers out of your hands at the same time must be a beautiful thing. You know there is a thermodynamic and aerodynamic limit to swoop length. 418 is really freaking long. I wonder how long it will be before someone in a gravity powered, freefall deployed, life saving device manages to beat that one without a catchnet or giant airbag. Right on Shanon...like catching the perfect wave..really ramon
  2. I don't hang out with people that 'Meek' every weekend. yuk yuk ramon
  3. I launched one this weekend out the casa with Hook n'swoop. we made a 7 way hybrid dive briefly. hahaha

  8. Eric Butz is in Houston. He told me this weekend he is tired and taking a little break this summer. He was doing tandems and freeflying with us and of course the mad swoops under his Cobalt. Big dude, little canopy...watch out...He really shuts that little thing down though. ramon
  9. there are 3 times as many good stories as bad ones...except for one un named manufacturer who we can all figure out..hahaha but I have at least one bad story on every american freefly suit manufacturer (even my favorite). ramon
  10. I'm sure many of you have heard complaints about jump suit manufacturers. (I ordered this and I go t this..etc). This is a challenge ... Last week I ordered a pair of pants on the phone (no paper no measurements) from Dakine. (specific stock model..503). Verbal phone instructions were size MM+ but make the waist 33-34, inseam 32, for heavy faller. I specifically asked about the thickness of material in the legs and stated I wanted a lot of drag (220 with gear..not fat) for big way pants. I was told that particular model had lots of material. I have seen very thick Dakines and thin ones. If That phone call produces exactly what was discussed they will get a thumbs up. [trophy] If not, I will get the vietnamese lady down the street to fix it for $20 and I will spread the rumors and my finger. Disclaimer: I have heard complaints from almost every major manufacturer lately, I am not picking on Dakine.
  11. actually if you see me now. I do a gradual 90 building speed watching the ground, and the traffic and then make adjustments for the last 90 which is my steep carving dive. And I may put more opposite riser if I am a little high and get a little off target, to put me back on track and maintain dive. ramon P.S. If you watched Eric Butts this weekend (bad example as he was doing a very advanced maneuver) He would carve hard one way then change directions and carve the other way to final. (like 360, 360)

    Dock Block

try a knee dock next time with another skydiver that is more prone to try and fly the position than cork and bail. thing is you try and fly it also. We'll dock this weekend Official team name for the Spaclenad thing shall be the "Zoom Dweebies' until you can dock ramon

  16. except all belly . ramon
  17. Any records I think must be docked, anyone can throw 10 sitflyers out of a plane (no skill is needed except at breakoff ) According to the new VSCR (Vertical SCR). You may launch a maximum of 4 way (that means grips belly or FF). The other 4 must freefly the exit. Only 4 people in the dive may remain on belly (of course all may be on their head). Everyone else may fly in any orientation desired. Grips must be held for 3 seconds (maybe it is 5) We did it this past weekend (4 way belly, two hangers underneath to speed it up, 2 HD stingers docked on belly flyers legs), but we only got 7 in for the amount of time the eighth managed to dock for a split second, but then break off happened. bloo skies ramon
  18. there are a bunch of 3 way combinations docked out there (Levin, you , Robert, Goat were all docked on the 8 way too). I guess we need a couple DZ com members from each DZ to show up. ramon GRat # 39
  19. I'll be back....... J/K If you are worried about riser strikes you may consider one of the TRVs with a top mount. if you can figure out their product line, they have the same features as the PC series, but....they have a bigger aperture...which means more light. If you put one on top of a mind warp or Optic or a hawkeye it will be fairly low profile too. Look at everyones camera on the dZ (big ass fuckers and PC5s talk to them about camera position and quality. Eventually you will hone in on what is best for you. For me it was a little PC5 side mount with a .5 wide angle lens. good luck ramon My PC5 gets mild slaps every once in a while and it starts to worry me. Of course I freefly with my chest strap tight. The risers spread out a lot more whne I am belly flying or hop n pop' n and it doesn't seem to slap (mild hit because I always expect it) my camera then.
  20. also you need to post photos of Jed and Trent at the competition in San Marcos...oop...they didn't go Gotta make those boys go out and get their names (and Sland) out there, They are missing the Texas freefly scene. bloo skies ramon
