    Hi John, Both my folks had 7 siblings [ 8 kids in each family ]. I had 43 first cousins with 14 younger than me. Most of my first cousins are also now dead. Times indeed do change, Jerry Baumchen PS) Out of those 43, one had an Associates Degree, one had a Bachelor's degree [ me ], one had a Master's degree & one became a medical doctor. In my family, on both sides, the ticket to success was getting a union job; or marrying a guy who was in a union.

    Hi Ken, I think Bill has been a DZO since, at least, the mid-60's. in 1964, Bill and his partner, at the time, Dick Simon ran a dz at Alta, Utah. They hosted the 1964 US Nationals there. I'm not sure when, but Bill did buy the dz at Pope Valley, CA. Dick Simon had left the business by then. Later, Bill moved to Lodi, CA. Some trivia: Dick Simon got into auto racing; he owned a trucking company called Simon Trucking. Their logo was a skunk painted on their trucks; I used to see them a fair amount while going up & down on I-5. Dick Simon raced many times in the Indy 500; he never won but, he was competitive.     OK, this site is doing some strange stuff. Once again I am unable to Reply to your post, Bill. => So here I am trying my best using Keith's post. As for nuclear accidents: I want us to do the best we can to prevent them. However, I accept them as a cost of doing business. To me, it is like aviation; we no longer have fatalities on commercial airliners every year. When, we do; I accept that as a cost of doing business. And, back when I was a working stiff, I flew just about every week on a commercial airliner. My one & only concern is the waste. I for one, do not want to have my grandchildren [ and their heirs ad infinitum ] dealing with it. The waste is deadly and is, for most discussions, forever.     Hi Sky, We all accepted the pardon at that time. I am no legal scholar; but, I do not believe it is possible to actually pardon someone when they have NOT been convicted of a crime. Nixon was never convicted of anything. Jerry Baumchen
