Hi Joe, Re: there are any number of pitfalls for Trump A number of posters talked about Trump's lies at the debate. I say, 'So what?' Did anyone expect him to do anything else? Trump lost no voters from his debate experience. Re: if a solid replacement This is what I am saying. However, that does not address my question. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Ken, Thank You. You have nailed it. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, From Bob Woodward: I sat there and watched it and I could not believe it. I said, not only is this a political hydrogen bomb for him Bob Woodward brands President Joe Biden's debate performance a ‘political h-bomb’ (thehill.com) Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, This country is faced with one issue. Do we, all of us, want Donald Trump to win the election on Nov 5th? IMO that must be the most important thing going forward. When those troops stormed the beaches of France on D-Day, do you think anyone one of them was wondering whether they should gotten a haircut three days ago? No, of course not; they were focused on one thing & only one thing. For me, that is the defeat of Donald Trump. Everything else is in 2nd place; and, so far back that you cannot see it. I posted this before: One question for everyone on here: Can Biden win over Trump in Nov? I have not seen much in the way of answers. The silence is telling. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, You are not facing reality. This election will be decided in 6-7 states by the 'undecided' voters. Many of those that have been on the fence about Biden's age, had their minds made up Thurs nite. You cannot push water upstream. Joe Biden had one chance to show that an old guy can do the job. He failed. Even his speech on Friday, the next day showed him slurring his words at times. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, A couple of months ago, US Sen Jeff Merkley [ D-OR ] was in the news criticizing the Biden admin about something that bothered him. I went to his website & sent him a message that said, 'Knock it off.' I went on to tell him that the No. 1 issue in this country today is the defeat of Donald Trump. Stay on that & do all the criticizing you want after Nov 5th. What do you think is the most important issue in this country at this time? Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Not at all. Joe Biden is running for the most powerful job on Earth, he should be held to a higher standard. If you've been watching him for the last yr or so, it is easy to see the decline. If he is still on the ticket in Nov, I'll vote for him. As winsor says, turn over any rock and what you find will be better than Trump. My vote is not going to make Biden the winner in Nov. Hi Ken, In May 1954, Roger Bannister cracked the 4-minute mile; when some people thought it was impossible. I remember it well as I had a paper route at the time. In subsequent articles, I read one about human physical peaking. It said that the male human it at his physical peak at 27-29 yrs of age. After that, it is all down hill. The decline is not linear, it is exponential. I doubt that Joe Biden will ever celebrate his 85th birthday. I hope that I am wrong; but, it is what I think. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, These continue to come out: Opinion: Dear Joe, it’s time to go | CNN There will be more as time goes by. I fully expect more & more newspapers to call for him to step aside. Jerry Baumchen PS) My mantra is: I've been wrong before & I'll be wrong in the future. One question for everyone on here: Can Biden win over Trump in Nov?

Hi Joe, Money, at this time, is not the issue. This is: 'Time to Go Joe': Liberal Columnists Turn On Biden After Debate Disaster (msn.com) His base is leaving him. I just watched tonite's Washington Week; most informative. The belt-way reporter's phones are blowing up with input from Democrats who know what last nite means. They are in panic. There is no way to sugar coat it. I do not believe it is possible for him to overcome last nite. I truly wish he could. Jerry Baumchen PS) I've been giving the Biden campaign $200/month for 4-5 months now; I have to give some serious thought to continuing.

Hi Phil, In 2012, Barak Obama was 51 yrs old. Joe Biden is 81 yrs old. Yes, it makes a difference. As it was shown last nite. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Nobody can win an election with their head in the sand. The DNC must face the truth. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Phil, I appreciate your thoughts. However, not everyone is in agreement: In the early hours of Friday morning, a string of high-profile Democratic strategists, pundits, and former officials joined the call for Mr. Biden to bow out. Katty Kay: Reality sinks in as Democrats weigh Biden's future (bbc.com) I would like to have been the proverbial fly on the wall during those calls. I would really like to see Joe Biden defeat Trump. Trump is one of the most worthless people this country has ever produced. And, Joe is a really nice guy. However, that does not win elections. Jerry Baumchen PS) As regards 'defeatist,' I prefer realist.

Hi Robert, From your link: the fact that Trump lied and rambled incoherently, ignored questions to say whatever he wanted; refused to acknowledge the events of January 6, 2021; and refused to commit to accepting the result of the 2024 presidential election Did anyone expect anything else? Her thoughts are more of a, 'Hey, look over here' than acknowledging that Joe made those on the fence about his physical & mental condition, reach a conclusion. Maybe if Joe wins the decathlon this summer in Paris, he can salvage last nite's peformance. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, IMO opinion, there is very little data to support that. Others may disagree. And, of course, we need to define 'malfunction.' With side by side problems, I'll take the round to survive the landing. YMMV, Jerry Baumchen

Hi Mark, If Joe Biden is the DNC nominee, I will support him & vote for him. However, he will not win. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, What I am reading, the DNC is not going to like it. Jerry Baumchen PS) Can Biden be replaced as Democrat nominee? Who could replace him? (bbc.com) Democrats backed into a corner over Biden's performance (bbc.com)

Hi Bill, Sure, go ahead & wait until Nov 5th & see what happens. Jerry Baumchen PS) I just got a text from the Biden camp; it ends with this: 'Because as you read this, Trump is hammering Joe Biden.' No shit!!!!!!!!

Hi Joe, Not going to work. IMO the only way to beat Trump is with a whole new team. At this time, Biden is far worse than a lame duck. Jerry Baumchen
