Hi Bill, I've been wondering when [ or if ] you would join this discussion. Two questions for you: 1. Did Trump gain or lose votes due to his debate performance? 2. Did Biden gain or lose votes due to his debate performance? Jerry Baumchen PS) Re: He'll have better debates than this He will only get worse. It is Mother Nature doing her thing. Oh, and just when will these [ multiple ] debates occur?

Hi Joe, I just read this: Hold two forums for candidates who meet a threshold, do a straw poll and the delegates pick,” Rybak wrote. He is: Former Minneapolis Mayor RT Rybak, a former Democratic National Committee vice chair Biden speculation swirls as White House, allies fight off calls to drop out (thehill.com) Jerry Baumchen

Hi Mark, I was thinking about something similar earlier today. If Trump wins & gets the Senate, kiss it all goodby. This is why this election is so important. Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi tk, In the DNC rule book, I think that is in Section 37.b.6. And, she will not get on the ticket if they want to defeat Trump. I would think that somewhere in the DNC rulebook, there is what to do when the s*** hits the fan. Probably under The Nuclear Option. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Pelosi on debate: ‘It was a bad night. It was a great presidency.’ Nancy Pelosi doubles down on support for Joe Biden after debate (thehill.com) Notice the tense she uses; It was a great presidency. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John Some time back, tk hayes said he would bet $500 [ I think that was the amount ] that Biden would beat Trump in Nov. See Post #55 above. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Keith, Please excuse me for taking so long to respond. As I see it, people simply do not know who Wes Moore is. IMO, it is too late in the game for someone who is not a national figure. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Mark, That carnival barker only wants that last $5 you have in your wallet. Trump is far, far more dangerous. Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi Joe, IMO she is one member of the Democratic Party that cannot beat Trump. Not a snowball's chance in hell. Forget all the niceties; focus on who can beat Trump in Nov. The job of POTUS is the most important job in the world. Does this nation [ and the world ] want to Trump to get it again? Jerry Baumchen PS) One more paper taking a stand: Atlanta Journal-Constitution editorial board calls for Biden to exit presidential race (thehill.com) It is NOT going to go away.

Hi tk, Thank You. When Joe Biden starting speaking at the debate, it took me about 1-2 minutes to conclude that he was toast. Oh, and that cold he had; interestingly how it suddenly cleared up on Friday in Charlotte. Jerry Baumchen PS) OK, who's up next? PPS) Looks like he might become the Grand Old Man of the DNC: Jamie Raskin: DNC needs Biden to play vital role at convention (thehill.com)

Hi Joe, Just pay no attention to her; she will get the message. Or, which is the thing that will probably happen, is that no one in the DNC will listen to her. Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi Joe, As I have posted before: She could not win an election for turd catcher. Her days in the limelight are over. Maybe she can get appointed Water Commissioner somewhere. Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi Bill, This is no surprise to me: Biden meets family at Camp David as calls to exit the race grow (msn.com) My son gives Biden until next weekend. I'm thinking before the 4th. It's too bad as I really like Joe as a person. Even a favorite pet has to be put down eventually. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, The DNC powers that be need to look Harris in the eye & tell her that this is what is going to happen. No further discussion. Same goes for any pledged delegates. No brokered convention, just tell people this is how it is going to be. Some would consider it a coup. Those people need to make a decision regarding if they want Trump in the WH or not. It is called taking charge of a problem & solving it. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, As I have mentioned before, dump the primaries, circle the wagons & select the team that can beat Trump. And, as I have mentioned before, my choice is Gavin Newsom for Pres & Gretchen Whitmer for V-P. Kamala Harris could not win in a vote for turd catcher. Jerry Baumchen PS) You're the guy who has consistently said that it is time for the Dems to quit being the good guys & go for the throat; or something to that effect. I agree.

Hi folks, Yesterday, I spent a lot of time trying to send a message to the White House. I could not get past this: No matter what I did, the window 'select an item' would not work. Maybe they do not want to hear from us. I would not be surprised. Jerry Baumchen PS) I was able to send a message to V-P Harris.

Hi Joe, Re: there are any number of pitfalls for Trump A number of posters talked about Trump's lies at the debate. I say, 'So what?' Did anyone expect him to do anything else? Trump lost no voters from his debate experience. Re: if a solid replacement This is what I am saying. However, that does not address my question. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Ken, Thank You. You have nailed it. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, From Bob Woodward: I sat there and watched it and I could not believe it. I said, not only is this a political hydrogen bomb for him Bob Woodward brands President Joe Biden's debate performance a ‘political h-bomb’ (thehill.com) Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, This country is faced with one issue. Do we, all of us, want Donald Trump to win the election on Nov 5th? IMO that must be the most important thing going forward. When those troops stormed the beaches of France on D-Day, do you think anyone one of them was wondering whether they should gotten a haircut three days ago? No, of course not; they were focused on one thing & only one thing. For me, that is the defeat of Donald Trump. Everything else is in 2nd place; and, so far back that you cannot see it. I posted this before: One question for everyone on here: Can Biden win over Trump in Nov? I have not seen much in the way of answers. The silence is telling. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, More fuel to the fire: Carville on Biden’s dismal debate: He relies on ‘employees’ not ‘advisers’ (thehill.com) Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi folks, This is just the beginning: Six political cartoons that sum up the presidential debate (msn.com) Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, You are not facing reality. This election will be decided in 6-7 states by the 'undecided' voters. Many of those that have been on the fence about Biden's age, had their minds made up Thurs nite. You cannot push water upstream. Joe Biden had one chance to show that an old guy can do the job. He failed. Even his speech on Friday, the next day showed him slurring his words at times. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, A couple of months ago, US Sen Jeff Merkley [ D-OR ] was in the news criticizing the Biden admin about something that bothered him. I went to his website & sent him a message that said, 'Knock it off.' I went on to tell him that the No. 1 issue in this country today is the defeat of Donald Trump. Stay on that & do all the criticizing you want after Nov 5th. What do you think is the most important issue in this country at this time? Jerry Baumchen
