    Hi 615, I do have to disagree with this from your link: Until the “invention” of the skydiving boogie in the 1970s, skydivers only really got together in multi-dropzone-community groups to participate in USPA-officiated competitions. Specifically – at regional and national jump meet Here in the PacificNW, we had competitions that were NOT PCA/USPA sanctioned events. They were put on by any local DZ. They were held almost every other weekend from early Spring until in the Fall. Actually, the first one of each year was the competition in Snohomish, WA in Feb each yr. Sometimes that one would get weathered-out. When the square canopy became the game-changer in accuracy is when the Boogie's began. Those competitions were a lot of fun, Jerry Baumchen

    Hi Winsor ( again ). Re: I grew up in a town adjacent to Skokie Illinois, where Nazis were allowed to parade as supported by the ACLU. Not a big fan of Nazis in general, I support the ACLU's stance, which denied the marchers the illusion of victimization on which they feed. I have been a member of the ACLU for more yrs than I can remember. When they supported the Nazis marching in Skokie, I nearly came unglued. Then I read about denied the marchers the illusion of victimization on which they feed. I changed my mind & agreed with the position of the ACLU. I say bring all of these dufusses into the light & see what they really are. Jerry Baumchen

    Hi Keith, During my four yrs of enlistment, I found dipsticks of every race there was. The worst was a white guy from one of the Carolinas; as lazy as the day is long. And, just as sloppy. Opposite of that, were a lot of great guys *; a few I still get together with every year or so. Just as it is in civilian life. Jerry Baumchen * There were no women enlistees in any unit I served in. However, there were a few female nurses I would have liked to have 'gotten to know' a little better.
