Hi Robert, From your link: the chairman of the Fairfax County Republican Party, said last week the allegations were “a fluid story” I'm thinking the only thing 'fluid' were the body fluids that were exchanged. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Re: Which will make those expensive extraction processes less viable. When the anticipated costs are more than can be recouped, you will not find any investors. It is simple economics. Re: I know a couple guys who made a lot of money working those oil fields. They were smart enough to limit expenses, bank the cash and when the jobs disappeared, they were good. And, one who invested & went broke was John Connally of Texas. The last that I heard was that he was having a 'garage sale' on his front lawn. John Connally - Wikipedia Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, Not to sound all Doom & Gloom, but don't get your hopes up too high. As with any commodity, the price to harvest it will determine the retail pricing. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Robert, From your link: “There was nobody in that room that was not angry and upset about this,” They were angry and upset because he got caught. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, If the Dems to not turn out to prevent a GOP takeover of Congress, then they deserve what happens. Don't like the reversing of Roe v Wade => then vote; that is your only recourse. Jerry Baumchen PS) Seems that the GOP wants to talk about something else: But in a state where abortions are legal up to 24 weeks . . . the campaign prefers to move on to other issues. Threat to Roe puts GOP on defense in 2022 battlegrounds - POLITICO

Hi folks, Another one had that Come to Jesus Moment: Jan. 6 defendant, who prosecutors say chased Officer Goodman, has cooperated with committee - POLITICO Jerry Baumchen

Hi Robert, Having watched #3 the other nite, I found it interesting how Big Oil likes to do the old Bait & Switch on the issues; 'Hey, look over here.' One I quite liked was where they said something about, 'Methane is not the problem is used to be.' When, before they were denying that it was any problem at all. FRONTLINE is always interesting to watch. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Don, Re: Unfortunately in the US people seem to be mostly unable to see the distinction Once they go thru a divorce, they will see the distinction. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, Whenever I come across someone who thinks like I do, it makes me scary. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Just another GOP 'Hey, look over here.' You will notice he only is going after the messenger. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Wendy, Yup. But, do not throw out the baby with the bath water. Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, At the beginning of every year, I sit down & write out checks to those organizations that I believe in. Two of them are: NARAL Pro-Choice America 1156 15th St., NW Washington, DC 20005 Pro-Choice Oregon P. O. Box 40472 Portland, OR 97240 I would hope that anyone who disagrees with Alito & his elk, would do the same. Just find out what organization within your state for the local donation. It will not turn back the tide, but it will help. Jerry Baumchen

Hi John, While I might not be around, it will be interesting to see what those anti-Roe folks think when their tax dollars go towards supporting those unwanted children. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Phil, As Lyle Cameron once wrote in his SKYDIVER magazine: 'At this point I am simply numb.' Jerry Baumchen

Hi Bill, No, I do not. What we really need is some GOP senator's granddaughter to get knocked up by her long-gone boyfriend. Preferably, by a boyfriend of a different race. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Re: a full throated rebuke That one caught me by surprise. While it is still not a done deal, I did expect some re-interpretation of Roe. Maybe more states should do this: Connecticut looks to expand abortion rights in response to restrictions : NPR And, with modern medicine, there is still the Morning After pill. While it is not much, there is hope on the horizon. Jerry Baumchen PS) This is why I do not vote for anyone associated with the GOP.

Hi Rob, Re: History books are written by the victors. In the early part of WW II, Hitler's generals told him that he was violating the rules of war. The above is, almost verbatim, his response to them. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Joe, Would you? Jerry Baumchen

Hi shadeland, Re: Both the PDR and PD Optimum both have waivers My post, which you quoted above your post, was based upon a discussion held in 2005. I was told in that discussion that the PDR line of canopies had no such waiver. I have nothing factual to present on this matter. Jerry Baumchen

Hi 17, The first person to actually be grabbed like that, an R & D effort by the Army, was J. Scott Hamilton, the former Pres. of USPA. Jerry Baumchen
-
Hi Robert, From your link: some companies put more effort into the pursuit of federal student-aid money than into teaching or learning IMO this is the crux of the problem. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Robert, It worked in 1945, why not now? Jerry Baumchen

Hi folks, Re: Student Loans & Re-payment Let us not forget that a LOT of these student loans are from, what I call, bogus/sham schools. The ones that seem to advertise a lot on tv; usually ads that seem to be directed at people of low income & who probably would never consider a formal education. I cannot remember when I last saw an ad on tv for Oregon State University and/or the University of Oregon. * Jerry Baumchen * Nor my alma mater, the University of Portland.

Luke Aikins planning new stunt.
JerryBaumchen replied to Erroll's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hi Ken, IMO: 1. The money 2. The fame that would lead to the next 'event.' Jerry Baumchen PS) For Luke to remain on the USPA BOD sullies any reputation USPA has.
