Hi Jakee, Re: Kids ask things, right? When my son was about 5-10 days old, the wife was bathing him. My 6-yr old daughter was watching. When she asked, 'What is that?' my wife calmly explained it to her. Some how, I doubt that this traumatized my daughter for the rest of her life. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Peter, Re: Did you miss the video? I have watched a few of them. My question was more to the individuals involved rather than the spectating public. Jerry Baumchen -
Hi Phil, Re: Russia and the Russian people adore and respect strongmen. For over a 100 yrs now, they really have not had a choice. There were a few short-lived exceptions, but, for the most part, that has been the history of the USSR and now, the Russian Federation. Jerry Baumchen

Hi jakee, And, that is why Uncle Joe would not have any 'neutral' countries. He knew exactly what he was doing. The west was lucky to get what they could in their meetings with him. Jerry Baumchen

Hi Ken, Re: I think the error was . . . Not long after Rod Pack made the first chuteless jump, 1 Jan 65, the pilot was fined $10,000. A LOT of money in those days. The article in SKYDIVER magazine that had the photos of the jump & the info on the pilot's fine, also said that they should have merely done it south of the border. No fines & no problems. As mentioned earlier in this thread, that would have IMO been the smart thing to do once the FAA gave them the thumbs down. But, that is all Monday Morning Quarterbacking; and we are all good at that. It will be interesting to see why one of them did not make any attempt to get near the aircraft that eventually crashed. Hi Phil, IMO the US needs more Republicans of the type that were in the GOP when I joined back in the late '60's. Those folks you could have a civil discussion with. And, they got legislation passed that was acceptable to the majority of this country. Hmmm, maybe I should join the current GOP and wish for 'the good old days.' NOT!!!!! Jerry Baumchen
