    Hi airdvr, Re: Gas prices like this will kill an economy. As others have said, not so. I first went to Europe in '61. The English paid very high prices for fuel & an insanely ( what I thought at the time ) high road tax. I could not understand how they could live with taxes like that. Boy, what I did not know. While these high prices will slow the growth of GDP, it will not will kill an economy. At least, not as I define it. I am quite sure that it will have a negative effect on one's stock portfolio.     Hi Wendy, You have spent a substantial amount of time in Brazil. Back in the 90's, I made 6 trips down there on business. One thing that I noticed early on was what seemed like a total lack of maintenance of their infrastructure. It is everywhere. We cannot let something like that happen here. Jerry Baumchen

    Hi Joe, I am definitely no expert. However, I believe that we all have a very dark location within our psyche'. The vast majority of us never get to that point where it surfaces. We control it without ever knowing that we are doing so. I have always thought his avatar was very strange; and not in fun.     Hi Ken, I was thinking about just what Bill writes in his OP the other day. I concluded that it is very possible that this country is headed for another Civil War. IMO it will not be state vs state, but brother vs brother. It could easily become open warfare in the streets. No police dep't. is populated to stop such a problem. Jerry Baumchen

    Hi Robert, Those 'mandates' are not absolute. Here in Oregon there are some exceptions for children having to be vax'd to go to school; religion for one, comes to mind. Or, one can merely do home-schooling to get around them. Jerry Baumchen
