You support it if you get something else in return or you are happy to say fuck it then: the antithesis of Kennedys antimetabole which defined the true meaning of patriotism.
-
Absolutely right. So why not join the snowflake brigade and support Biden's desire to take many more out of mothballs and send them to Ukraine?
-
Maybe we need to ditch the idea of immigrating to the US and give a temporary approval to individual states. Maybe after 5 years of working hard and contributing there was an opportunity for US citizenship. Texas cries and moans but they need a lot of immigrants to do crappy jobs like a lot of other states. Instead, let's have job fairs at border check points. States can have desks and booths and vie for the best candidates. Jobs would be filled, labor costs and inflation would go down, and fruit wouldn't be rotting in the fields.
-
And, as a coastal state, Texas is also impacted disproportionally by beach erosion. Another so what in my view. Besides, doesn't everyone want to move to Texas for cheap housing and low taxes?
-
And he still can not put any original thought to his claim and tell us what he would do to solve the border "crisis". Why? Well, because then he would find himself leaving behind the binary world of Fox News and entering the multifaceted world of liberal thought where zero sum solutions are as rare as rational republican politicians these days.
-
Maybe he thinks deporting is like transporting on Star Trek. Just push a button and they're gone.
-
Deport them to where? Where do we house them while waiting for the next flight, bus or boat? Or do we simply drive them back across the Texas border singing Roll 'em, Roll 'em, Roll 'em? Maybe we can get Mr. Peabody and his Wayback Machine to transport them back to the better days of gentle Republicans and real easy solutions. Two answers you've given, both empty of solutions or even a dribble of insight. It must be taken as an admission that you are without ideas or understanding. Thanks for playing.

Bullshit answer. You barked, not me. Flesh it out if you can. Think through the problem of just enforcing it, for one tiny issue. I do not think it is right for trains of people to freely transit through several countries to our border. No one I know disagrees, the problem is enforcement. Please tell us how you would do it or agree you don't know what you are saying when you cry about the border.
-
Is that it? Is that your comprehensive plan, put the GOP in power?
-
Clearly they did not teach the concept of governance in undergrad at Liberty U.
-
Elucidate, please. Because, as you know, you'll be able to shape shift if your correspondent gives substance or definition to your posit. Be brave, spell it out for we poor ignorant fools.
-
Do you mean the current Republican approach of using human beings to score cheap political points and electoral ambitions? Nope, I do not. What are we supposed to do, machine gun them all in the river? Sanction the piss out of Mexico until they machine gun them at their southern border? Let the sanctions on Mexico and Costa Rica and El Salvador and Nicaragua and Panama shrink the US economy instead of letting in low level workers of which we are in short supply and actually grows our economy? We've listen to you complain and toss out sound bites on the topic now please give us your step by step plan on what you would do including how you would deal with the inevitable hiccups and screwups. How much time would your plan take before showing measurable gains, how much will it cost and who will happily pay for it all? You're up chica, put up or something else.
-
Obviously. It's called extortion. It's called a demand for capitulation for the sole purpose of weakening the counter party. If not, then why doesn't the Republican house take the $14 Billion for border security already offered? Moreover there is simply no equivalency between supporting Ukraine to the fullest by recognizing that allowing Russia to win will harm all Americans and some amorphous wish for "Border Security" without knowing how to achieve it. Honestly, you really do not understand it more than most because you attended a college course.
-
No you're not. But you don't need to be a one trick pony. Truly what you just wrote is lame: "Concede to my EV argument/CO2 argument (give me my version of border control/abortion rights) and I'll happily support world democracy at the real cost of pennies". Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you aren't who you think you are.
-
Have you written your R representatives explaining the simplicity of the problem? Have you told your SF buddies to get in line and support the party that knows attritting Russia with surplus equipment we will never use and pay to store is smart, as in smarter than worrying about too many taco trucks in America or how many EV's are bought and sold each year or even the effects of any PPM CO2 number in the atmosphere and whatever, by comparison, is the trivial effect on your current economic situation? No? Well, except in skydiving, it's never too late to make the right decision.
-
Make it 1001% and be a real hero by changing party affiliation to the folks who aren't functionally supporting Vladimir Putin and are trying their best to keep Ukraine armed. Call your representatives and your friends and tell them why you are doing what any right thinking should do which is learn to prioritize national policy issues.

BERLIN — Tesla will suspend most car production at its factory near Berlin from Jan. 29 to Feb. 11, the company said on Thursday, citing a lack of components due to shifts in transport routes because of attacks on vessels in the Red Sea. Bull-F'n-Poop! They cant's sell the damn things to the bumper car ride people much less discerning consumers and everyone knows it! Fake news!

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers
JoeWeber replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
Absolutely if Trump prevails on absolute immunity. Also the eminently whackable , Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and last because he should know when he's next, Roberts. Then MTG, Johnson and just for fun George Bush. -

Not lately. -
I miss the days of character and integrity.

That's right. The school is the chicken and the student is the egg, obviously. It's truly surprising the MIT motto isn't :"We fix stupid!"
-
And still may be. It's all good, for all you know the bastard had it coming.

Yep!
