Absolutely. Of course the option of actually paying for desired content is always an option.

We’re too busy learning how to text with both thumbs and take selfies of ourselves.

When they go low we ought to be hitting them on the backs of their pointy heads.

What an unbelievable kerfuffle all because someone is bussing packers to Chicago.

Where’d he get his card? Craigs list?

Good deal, there is at least one cryptic Republican grown up congress person. We’re saved! Take down your Biden lawn sign, regain your connection to your inner bubble, and rest easy knowing that everything happens for a reason, and trust that someone, somewhere, has this under control.

I also give to family first. 1.4 Billion Chinese can't be wrong, I think. Since Amazon, and online shopping I only shop local if I cannot wait until tomorrow so it's mostly hardware sort of stuff and food. I think there is more of that than not for most folks now on examination. I take "virtue signaling" as just another right wing pejorative term to describe snowflakes so I don't necessarily believe there is a perfect way to do it. I suspect your version is more sensitive, and generous, than that of others.

So in that sense, and with respect to climate change and EV's too, when Brent charges us with virtue signaling he's not completely wrong. I suppose theres a difference between that which is predestined and that which is going to happen no matter what we do but if so it ain't much. In any case, those who are fortunate enough to have a few tricks in their bag and a dollop of ambition are probably better off focusing on leaving a better world for their own kids and simply wishing the best for any others. But we won't, we'll continue to spread our resources liberally while the selfish conserve theirs for themselves: the true difference between liberals and conservatives.
-
Bill, seriously, what are you doing and spending to save your kids from a Trump second term? Are you thinking that it's much ado about an improbability?

Yes, that's a perceived concern. The real problem is that we have a Supreme Court that has zero integrity, no real touchstone legal philosophy, believes it is immune from any regulation, has the minority party for backstop, and has 6 votes to quash any sensibilities. Truly, we are Banana Republic. -
He's a master at corralling the votes he can't lose: that's the 1/3 you correctly identified. Given the liberal, young voter, and suburban housewife propensity for just not wanting to talk about it and then be too busy to vote because as everyone selfish knows it doesn't count,1/3 is a very good number.

I think it's slightly more accurate to state that it's the people who don't vote who have given us the leaders they deserve. -

Rather strange what qualifies as a cheery projection these days, no? -

Yes, the system can be saved if young’uns and suburban women come out in force and vote D. I am not holding my breath. I also listened to the arguments; a charitable description at best, and was unimpressed. Even Kagen was off target. The all let the office vs. official crap get totally overblown. The only focus the liberals should have had was the textualist and originalist arguments. They blew it. -

On several occasions I pushed back on skydekkers, too glib I thought then, assertions that the US was just another banana republic. I was wrong. We truly are becoming a world class embarrassment and on a daily basis I feel more and more removed from my American identity. I have options and no kids so I can simply check out. But every one with kids and a vested interest in the future of America out to be spending most of their free time on getting out the vote and spending whatever money they have to spare on the process. -
But there is, they are forced to suffer your acerbic wit, again, and again, and again.......

Ain't that the truth. Ginzburg's selfishness really screwed us.

Anybody else listen to the SC arguments on the Colorado case today? Unbelievable that shitty lawyers are going to lose this case. Alito saved Trumps lawyer from a major f-up and even Jackson wasn’t smart enough to focus on the originalism argument. What a joke. -
Nah, I think he's just burnt out.

You're simply being trite. I am not in full agreement with Winsor, probably owing more to my life experience than any definition of right or wrong or good or bad or up and down. But then I consider definitions to be changeable and, I suppose, fungible. I think Winsor would not agree with that position.
