But how do you get her to go away quietly?
-
Great. What to do about Kamala?
-
Makes sense. At a certain age your post concert date expectations are easily met, I suppose.

Totally useful information for everyone in a modern society; way more useful than just banning both or knowing when to put the bay leaf in the spaghetti sauce.

The Continent’s Consensus on Climate?……Crumbling
JoeWeber replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
What really cracks me up is we're Skydivers. Who better knows that the best way to know the weather isn't to read about but to get out into it. We tell newbs that all of the time when they want to know if the weather is good for jumping. Of course, getting outside of ones beloved Zorb ball and collecting real empirical data that supports, or refutes, ones thesis can be mighty scary. -
I can get behind all of that. Thank you Bill.
-
You mean that dastardly MSM that is ruining the world? Okay, sensei, here's another (made up, bullshit) take: like the right wing has learned, saying or showing the same thing over and over diminishes it's importance in the eyes of the electorate. So, no shit, you get CNN in the Zorb ball?

McGovern replaced Eagleton with Shriver and lost in a landslide to Nixon by 18 million votes who also won 520 electoral votes. Democrats are in disarray and cannot be trusted with the presidency was the cry. Maybe now, and swapping bout the top of the ticket, is different. Also, if Biden drops out because of his diminished capacity shouldn't that also trigger a 25th amendment removal and wouldn't the right be justified in calling for it? What a shit show.
-
Outstanding! So in advance of November how will you rid America of all of our racists, misogynists, and homophobes?

The Continent’s Consensus on Climate?……Crumbling
JoeWeber replied to brenthutch's topic in Speakers Corner
You live, apparently, in a Zorb ball so no doubt the answer is no negatives, no nothing. I live on the oceans. I'm seeing a different set of data. -
Others might call it a Putsch. Harris will need to be brought on board and as we've seen separating power from selfishness is difficult. That said, if the DNC was in a Seal Team 6 mode maybe they could convince her to resign so Biden could appoint Newsom, if he's your choice. Then Biden resigns and Newsom chooses Harris as his running mate. Easy peasy and everyone keeps their fingers and toes.
-
Right, I’m that guy. I’ll take your ticket and I’m happy with getting dirty hands to win. Aren’t Biden delegates pledged for the first round? Are you hoping for a brokered convention? How do you get Harris to leave quietly?
-
We're on the same team. What mechanism and timing do you think gets us to a better candidate and who are they?
-
Jail time from Merchan might change it. A Chutkan decision to hold a very public "mini trial" to determine which documents Trump stole would be admissible following the coming USSC immunity decision might sway public opinion. Those might work. I'm not against him leaving the race, I wish he's have bagged before all of this mess, I'm just not sure how Kamala would handle walking away from the one and only chance she'll ever have to be President.
-
Yes. Not because I expect a rejuvenation event but only because, as we didn't foresee his botch job debate, there are any number of pitfalls for Trump. Logic as we used to know it indicate Biden's chances are reduced now. Again, if a solid replacement, and a way to do it can be divined, I'm in. In the meantime every alternative needs to be open for discussion and I'm going to look for the guy who wished that I live in interesting times.
-
I get that, we see the same things. I'd be happy to trade him for a steel penny if it would win in November. That said, not electing Trump is the big picture item and asking Kamala to walk away from what she'll believe is a real chance to be President will be a hard pull. So I will continue to hate it and continue to think about potentials. Bottom line: more people will vote for an age disabled Biden that Harris on her best day, just the way it is.
-
Sometimes the best solution is full speed ahead. Might be Biden needs to just beat the drum: Okay, I blew the debate. I was sick and I’m also 81 and I stutter. So freakin’ sue me. Look, here’s the deal, this has always been a race between the lesser of two evils and nothing has changed because of one tv show. Trump is still a felon, a traitor, a non stop liar, a convicted rapist, a fraud, a failed businessman, and a total jerk. That’s just 7 things to remember and 4 more than that moron needed to remember for the Alzhiemers test he aced. So let’s relax, work together and remember one thing: elect me and it’s 4 more years if I’m lucky, maximum. Him and his MAGA criminals you’ll never be rid of.
-
Er, um, see, the thing is recent history includes Trump. Just saying.
-
I’m being struck by the irony of posters here, me included, arguing that old folks need to go at the first major screw up.
-
Should be good for pollution stocks, in general, I guess.
-
The tricky bit here will be taking advantage of the positives. How, as an example, do we convince the MAGA hordes the deep state is now kaput und they no longer need Trump?
-
Are you just plagiarizing us, finally coming around, writing another song, or are your functional years behind you now?
-
I will vote for Biden if he remains the nominee and has a heartbeat.
-
Those opinions get advertising eyeballs. I am freaked out over how he looked in the first 45 minutes. That said, if America likes that sort of thing, well, beating Trump is the end game not me being right.
-
We're on the same page, for sure. But if it looks like Biden can overcome this I'll not cut off my nose to spite my face. My huge advantage in this debate is I'm used to being wrong.
