    I occasionally listen to mine on the ride up, but I only put the headphone in one ear so I can still hear what's going on around me in case there's trouble. Then it gets turned off and goes into my jumpsuit pocket a few mins before exit. I listened to it a couple of times on cross-country jumps, but it's just too unsafe if there are others in the air. Hell, I have enough to focus on without needing another distraction on my jump. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

    Just bear in mind that you may not always have time. Getting stable before deploying your reserve is a bad habit to get into, and people have died trying to get stable first. Reserves are designed to be deployed while unstable. Congrats on saving your life though, there's no feeling like it the first time you do it.     For me, personally, if i get out above 1500 I'm going for my main, below 1500 and it's straight to reserve. I know my Stiletto and I've done enough hop&pop's with it to know how fast it opens, and how to speed up the opening if I so choose. Either way, if you're required to get out and *immediately pull*, you shouldn't have a problem with anyone around you, as you should still have decent separation, even if you're all exiting immediately right after one another. Watch video of CRW dogs exiting if you want some reassurance. Just be ready to get on your rear risers immediately, as someone or yourself may open off-heading. As for the 45-degree rule, forget it, it doesn't work. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

    Seconded... Macca, with your body type, you would absolutely kill it in a GTi, man. Pour your tall, lanky frame into a GTi and you'll have an all-around suit that can hang with classic's or go balls-out with some S-series suits in mixed flocks. I'd thought about getting an S-3 once I hit 30-ish jumps on my GTi, but like Chuck says, if you can't jump an S-3 every weekend and keep that level of currency, it can be a dangerous handful. Just looking out for you, bro.
