Yeah, it's the "out to prove something" "I'm more macho than you" people that annoy me. I give the same level of safety to all of my students, but a student who is respectful will get the bonus package which includes me doing everything I can to calm, ready, and reassure them before it's their turn. I get what Superman is saying, to a low # jumper, having someone else going on about the end of the world is awfully disconcerting, especially when that student is possibly trying to gather their nerves and readying for their next jump. It's discourteous. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -

Easy...the lanyard can break, the clip can break, the ring on the riser could come off, or you can snag it on something and undo it. Nothing is infallible. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Awesome! That's a great area. eenR took me there to go eat and look around when I visited last year and there's definitely tons to do around there. Add me to that list of people who may use you as a crash pad sometime. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -

Well, there's a whole host of other little things as well... Have you been checking the tension on your chain and cleaning and lubing it at the proper intervals (I do mine about every 500 miles)? Checking the sprockets for wear when looking at the chain? Checking oil and coolant levels? Changing the oil every 1000 miles and the filter every 2000? Checking the throttle, clutch, and break cables for wear/fraying and adjusting the play? Checking the inside of the gas tank for rust & sediment? Changing the airbox and fuel filter? That's just the things I could think of off the top of my head, and I usually go over those when I change the oil, except for the chain which I checked every couple of weekends. Bikes, especially sport bikes, are very maintenance intensive machines by their very nature. If you're going to have something that high-performance in so little a package it's a given. Here's the part where I repeat my suggestion that you shell out the money to get the service manual for your bike. They're really handy to have and cover all of the maintenance in extreme depth, along with other troubleshooting and repair info. It's basically a Chilton's manual for the bike, but you'll get it directly from Kawasaki and it's specific to your Ninja. Good bikes though. My first sport bike was an 85' Ninja ZX-6.
