Seconded. It's nice to have an unbiased mag to read. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

You're on! But only if you pack it and if I can to wear my camera helmet so I can keep it on my alti.

It's probably closer to 500-600 feet. My psycho-packed Stiletto snivels forever, but I have yet to get one over 800 feet (usually 500-650), and that was on a pack job that was 3-weeks old. I was just about to give up and go for a cutaway if a final tug of the risers hadn't brought the slider down. What most people think is 1000+ feet of snivel is usually caused by your altimeter playing catchup. Also, don't forget that as soon as the bag starts opening and the canopy comes out you are slowing down and not eating up altitude as fast as you were in freefall. I checked the crossports on mine. They are semi-rectangular ovals as well. They don't have to be perfectly circular, they just have to pass air. However, the fraying could be an issue depending on how severe it is. You may want to have a rigger take a look at them. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Yeah, but they kept me updated, and I got to chat with Lolie, so it was for a good cause.

You may want to put this in the Gear & Rigging forum. You'll probably have a much better response there instead of here in the Greets forum. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Innocent? Didn't I read about your upcoming debauchery fest coming up at the Z-Hills Easter boogie?

Whoops. That's what I get for skimming instead of reading. You can't tell from the video. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
Are you sure you would never do that, Libido Rodriguez? Kris (I wonder if that fake tattoo snafu will be on the DVD...) Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I don't know about that...the last two times I spent any serious time around Stacy she was either bloody or shirtless. That's too much of a risk for a 50-50 chance. But, I would pay money to see her trick cow-swooping skillz! Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Yes. It will even shut down as you are screaming through 800 feet with nothing out if it happens to hit the 14-hour mark at that point. If your Cypres is on from the day before, turn it off then back on. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Nicely executed, Kelly! I like how you never had to touch the toggles to plane the canopy out, very safely done. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
The convention is always the first full week of August. It falls on the 1st-10th this year. And I doubt CrossKeys will have a C-130 and C-130 bar. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Rolling the nose doesn't work on all canopies, even canopies that are the same make & size will react differently. Make sure you are properly rolling the tail. The rolls should be a nice, tight and thin, usually no more than 4 or 5 are required. Keep control of your slider at all times. Make sure it isn't slipping down the lines while you are packing. Even an inch or two will get your attention on opening. Cloverleaf the slider and pull it out in front of the nose a few inches to help catch more air. Do not push the nose all the way inside of the canopy to the tail. Just nestle it in a bit. Pushing it all the way back can bite you when the tail whips open and forcibly dumps the nose into the air. Make sure your line stows are the proper size and tight in the bands. It should take 12-14 pounds of force to unstow your lines on the ground. Have a rigger check your PC to make sure it isn't too big for your canopy. If the PC is too big, the snatch force will be higher and can lead to harder openings. If all that fails, talk to a rigger about making a pocket for your slider. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

RPS during the plane ride definitely helps pass the time in a piston Cessna.

I wish I had remembered to take a before pic but here's what she looks like after drying. Not bad at all... Long Live The Purple One! Edited to add: I did find an older pic. The white is really dingy here and looks grey compared to the white on my FF suit. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I load my Stiletto a hair under 1.4:1 and I get closed end cells on about 1 out of every 4 jumps. No biggie as it is always on both ends and the canopy stays on heading. After the slider has come down I just give a quick tug on the rears to inflate them and I'm ready to go. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I know of a 4-person caterpillar that has been successfully launched from a 182. Now that was interesting.

From Bill Von's "Top 5 RSL Myths" article here on DZ.com: 1. You should get stable before you open your reserve, and so you should disconnect your RSL. First off, you should _not_ be stable face-to-earth when you open your reserve. The Racer manual spells this out explicitly - you should be head-high if possible to ensure a cleaner reserve deployment. Fortunately, you are head high the instant you cut away from your main, and that is the point at which an RSL will open your reserve. Secondly, there are two universal truths in skydiving - you won't do it if you don't practice it, and you _will_ do what you trained to do. If you practice "cutting away and getting stable" you _will_ do that in the air, even if you someday cut away at 500 feet. If you do that, the only thing that will save your life will be your RSL. Finally, before you decide that it's a good idea to cut away and then get stable, I'd recommend you do an intentional cutaway from a rapidly spinning canopy and see how long it takes. (Hint - it does not take just a second or two.) Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Ouch, no kidding. I am on a smokin' fast broadband connection but I dislike sites that are done entirely in Flash so much that I still avoid them, bandwidth or not. Let me know when you get that HTML version up, Shell. Kris Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
That's the second time this weekend I've heard that about relined Stiletto's. The first time was from a friend when I was discussing new canopies I was thinking about demoing because I am looking for something with a longer recovery arc than my Stiletto. He mentioned that after he recently got his Stiletto 120 back from PD it was an entirely different animal. He has several thousand jumps, most on Stiletto's, and he could really notice a change in the recovery arc. I may have to give PD a call tomorrow and find out what's up.
