You know....if she wasn't so damned cute, I'd be miffed. Don't worry, I'll let you try it so you can find out what 120 feels like too. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Eloy? What is this Eloy that they keep speaking of? Sounds sandy and cold. Don't worry, Bo. I'll definitely be at Z-Hills with my new Freefly, RW, and BirdMan suits in tow. I'm down for any kind of jumping we can think of. Mead Vikings Kick Ass!!! Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Nah, he'll be okay. They cancel each other out. Even evil itself is looking at that serial number and sayin', "Nope...not even gonna' go there." Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Step 7: After donning appropriate gas mask, kick Dave's ass for kicking my ass. Step 8: Take my car back from Dave, remove his country music from my iPod, and replace his Aggie stickers with OU decals....by way of CrazyGlue. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Step 3: Throw away the Roxio software. Step 4: Go to www.ahead.de and download Nero Burning ROM. Although I do agree that the burning software in XP is absolutely hideous. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I have to add in on the Samsung lovin'. I have the S-105 and I love it. Great color display, easy to use with the web, and the ability to use Java midlet apps is great. I have mine through T-Mobile and I'm a happy camper.

Shhh!!!! Don't tell anybody! I'm supposed to be just an "Okie", remember? The car wash method can work great, I've used it before. Just make sure you check to see if they reuse their water and be careful with the nozzle. It's really great, especially with grass stains. Don't forget a plastic hefty bag to take your newly soaked rig home in.

I got the nickel plating on my Mirage Unisyn and it looks absolutely incredible. It always gets compliments. I chose it over the stainless because I think it looks better. The fact that it was $150 cheaper didn't hurt either but it wasn't my deciding factor. Don't confuse nickel plating with chrome plating. Nickel is much more durable and looks a lot better. It's more of a glossy satin finish. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS!!! Many car washes recycle their water. Also, the water pressure can be extremely high. If you get teh nozzle too close you can damage the nylon and/or the stitching. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

In my experience, yes. The demo Samurai I tried a few months back left me positively slack-jawed at how fast that thing would pirouette through the sky. It easily chewed through 3 revolutions where my Stiletto would be trying to complete the second. The risers weren't as bad as the toggle turns, but it was still nonetheless impressive. Spinoff thread: pros and cons of soft links (main or reserve)
Kris replied to The111's topic in Gear and Rigging
I love my Slinks. I have them on my Stiletto and on my Tempo reserve. It makes changing canopies very easy as well. I'll inspect my slinks every couple of months and I'll take them off during my reserve repack to really give them a once-over. The set on my Stiletto has 250 jumps and one opening hard enough to shred my Stiletto. They still look brand new. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™ -
Sorry, Remi. That wasn't directed at you. That was directed to a couple of people I know personally that ranted up one side and down the other about it. They also read DZ.com so I had to throw that in. I do agree with your point on newer jumpers though. When I had my initial problems with the first release versions of the Neptune SW it wasn't a biggie since I know what the ground looks like at pull altitude. But for a new jumper it's a different story. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Don't damn me! I haven't even been to sleep yet since I found that damn link. Those little bastards are eventually going to stay down. must....keep....clicking... Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

Mine two weekends back wasn't bad at all. It was in-between the outside & 2nd cells on my Stiletto (loaded about 1.35) and it was a pretty gentle turn. I popped the brakes and it cleared pretty easily with a quick flare almost to stall. Too bad during the opening the 2nd cell in on the other side got shredded due to the hard opening. My rigger went buzzing by the staff golf-cart a few years ago. Full-on swoop, hair on fire. His AFF student's mom was in the golf-cart. When he went screaming by he scared her so bad she wet herself. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

I agree with you 100%. Since I've been running the 1.17 code my Neptune is always within a couple of seconds of my ProTrack, the setup is easy, and the display is very easy for me to read in FF. Also, whether the Neptune bashers care to admit it or not, Alti-2 has been nothing but outstanding in the customer service dept. As soon as a serious gripe came in from the field they re-created it and released new code. You can test a device over and over, 100 ways from Sunday, you think you've got the bugs worked out, but.... once that product gets into the field users will do things that you've never dreamed of and will make you stay up at night with the cold sweats. How you handle it is what's important and I think Alti-2 did an impeccable job. Besides, the ProTrack can't hang with the Neptune when it comes to BirdMan. That's the reason I got my Neptune, to overcome the 119 second limit on the ProTrack since I will have my BirdMan GTi next month. My ProTrack will always have a place in my helmet, but my Neptune stays on my wrist. Oh, and Pablo, change your colors, you can't have the same color Neptune as me. You're almost there. An EPROM is burned the same way an EEPROM is. It can be reused, but you have to use a UV light to reset the chip back to its default config. An EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) is a better choice as it can be done inside the device. EPROM, EEPROM, flash... It's a Neptune thread and we're geeks. 'nuff said. The 2.0 code will be nice, but mine with the 1.17 code is rock-solid. It's always within a second or two of my ProTrack and the display is easy to read in FF. I can't wait to try it with my BirdMan GTi when it gets here next month. Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

The Skytronic a hassle to use, customer service is non-existant, and I went through 3 of them in a matter of a year, with 3-4 months being the average time to get one repaired or replaced. I got to use it a total of 15 times in the year that I messed with one. So now I keep a ProTrack in my helmet and a Neptune on my wrist and I couldn't be happier.
