Lady Blue is SO smart, and a really fun dog. I feel so guilty for leaving both of them with Jesse for nearly a year. Glad to have them back though. They're so starved for attention.... It has been such a stressful time that, embarassingly, I gave Jesse the benefit of the doubt on taking care of the dogs. I do regret that. In this little bitty house I'm renting, with a huge back yard, NO PETS are allowed. So my dogs, Lady Blue and Bosco, stayed with the ex. But....I couldn't stand it any longer, and today I brought them to MY house. Bosco's limping, I think because his toenails are so long. I doubt they've had a bath in a year....stinky. But today I ordered 10 new frisbees for Lady Blue.... She's an awesome frisbee dog. Got new dishes, leashes, and treats for the dogs. We now have 4 pets where there should be none, but WTF.... You're doing a helluva lot better than I am....and I haven't had surgery.... However, God-willing, my ex will REALLY be my ex in a few more weeks....and though the custody brawl has drawn out much longer than I expected, I'm getting kind of excited about letting him make an ass of himself in court....on public record.... I bet that if YOU were the innocent person being convicted of a crime you did not commit you would feel differently. If you're the innocent person being abused, raped, molested, by a stranger or your father or whomever, it's easy to feel angry and want someone to pay for the crime that was committed. Not everyone accused is guilty of abuse. Maybe your situation skews your view of people accused of sexual abuse. But thank God that jurors are screened so that people who are so hell-bent on sending someone to prison aren't chosen as jurors. -- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. I was a social worker before going to medical school, and my undergraduate degree was in psychology. I worked for OGC up in your area for a while. It's really tough to make a living with just a bachelor's in psychology. Unless you're pretty resourceful, it's wise to consider furthering your education. I froze when I realized I was going land on the taxi way, having ground fixation and not flaring has been one of my bigger problems in the past, but the last 15 or so jumps, it hasnt been a problem, my landings were spot on About 100 jumps ago I screwed up a landing and scraped my knees really badly....however, I was under a high-performance canopy, and I'm lucky that I didn't break my femurs or worse.... That was just a couple jumps ago, in the learning curve. 15 jumps is absolutely nothing. It might be a good idea to sell your gear and buy some gear that is more appropriate to your experience level. Now is a good time to really evaluate what you are doing and to realize how unforgiving and deadly what you are doing can be. No matter what factors have contributed to your current situation, you WANT to be responsible for yourself. It'd suck to die because somebody else was in control of your fate.... Given your post....the hazard you have been unaware of, what you believe to be substandard student instruction, and your very low jump numbers coupled with the injuries you have already sustained due to problems with canopy control, I have a suggestion: You could NOT quit the sport and instead listen to what all these people who should be fucking off are trying to tell you....and proceed with safer skydiving! linz -- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Don't you know that it's not discrimination unless you're on the "list." If you're white, then you're definately NOT on the list. It's the power dynamics of our world. By keeping you out, the black social workers somehow (I'm not sure if it's real or imagined....probably imagined) moderate the power among the social worker class....
