I don't think it's any worse for a man to have sex with a 14 y/o than it is for a woman to do the same thing.....given that the 14 y/o's have the same degree of willingness. Girls may want to have sex with a hot male teacher as much as boys want to have sex with a hot female teacher. I think a lot of people have that same reaction as you. My problem with her not going to trial doesn't have to do so much with punishment for this crime, but rather concern about the ease with which she may offend again. I think that a lot of people see this as less criminal than if she were a man and the victim a girl. I think age of the child and willingness on their part is as much a factor as gender, though. Even though it's sick on her part to WANT to have sex with a 14 y/o boy, a 14 y/o (whether a boy or a girl) who sees himself as involved in a relationship with this adult is probably less scarred than a younger, pre-pubertal child who doesn't willingly participate. I think in this case, the boy is probably more harmed by the backlash than by the act itself....and the same if the genders were reversed. But society as a whole is harmed by allowing adults who prey on children to go free. I know she's under house arrest and then on probation, but I don't think she'll be followed seriously....and she'll likely reoffend I'd guess. linz -- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Know what I REALLY love? That THIS year....will never happen again....because I paid out the ass for medical school tuition, am a single mom, and only worked half the year I got back more money than I paid in. I benefited from the Earned Income Credit, and was awarded $3,000 more than I paid in taxes last year. So thanks to y'all who afforded me this benefit. The atmosphere here is very different than it was a few years ago. I've seen that happen with other topics too. Things that were funny as hell before are now fuel for the fire. We keep a hammer behind the seat of the 182 just in case a student doesn't want to let go. This algebra implies you're talkiing in general about all religions of the world. In fact notions of "salvation" and "damnation" are not universal at all and mostly pertain to Christianity (and to a lesser extent Judaism and Islam). A girl I knew in college said this once: "I like black people. I think they're nice." She was absolutely clueless about what was wrong with that statement. If research is showing that homosexuality (or in this case, feminine behavior) is caused by an under-exposure to certain hormones... then it is definitely up for debate on whether or not it is something that should be treated. Feminine behavior should not be confused with homosexuality, I don't think. It might approach being some kind of measure of gender identification....maybe, but not of homosexuality. I do LOVE my road bike. I love riding every day when I can....but I've only ever ridden road bikes. Don't know how well I'd handle (lol) "rough" terrain....but I think I'm gonna have to give it a go :) Hope Morgan likes her new ride. I'm sure she already does though.... Jay's little Trek bike is pretty awesome for a kids bike. It has Shimano Sora and Deore....which I think will hold up well for him. In public or at a private party is the key there. Think about what I actually said. I was replying to this comment by you: Anti-gay I think implies trying to put a stop to them. All I have said is I don't want to watch them in action. For that they have the privacy or their own home or gay clubs where they have an environment of like-minded people. That is the key like-minded people. Because people like you will otherwise try to suggest that since there is nothing wrong with the bride and groom kissing in public then why not them. Still its clearly a different story, no matter how much you wish it was it was the same. It IS okay for two adults to kiss in public....whatever their genders.
