Well, we do have a need for Vitamin D. Comes from exposure to the SUN! Like most things in life, moderation is the key I think. OMG!!!! I forgot all about THAT aspect of turning 40. What fun. Our birthday was GREAT. I share a birthday with a lot of great people: Banjobill, my friend Emily, my friend Jimmy's mother, my friend Duncan's daughter, my residency director's brother, my cousin's son, my child's best friend Austin, and my friend Lauren's nephew. I think that's all. We had a REALLY fun birthday party on Saturday that led to the mayor of Camden issuing a proclamation that from now on April Fool's day will be held on April 5th in Camden...lol. In what state is this? This is Bum Fuck Arkansas...lol. Arkansas is a beautiful place, and the Buffalo River is awesome. Did you see the rest of the pictures, though. Lost Valley/Eden Falls Cave are so cool. I think I'm gonna have to go bump them so they're not buried pages and pages deep. We just now got home to our little South Arkansas abode. We camped at Kyle's Landing. No ranger station at the campground. Maybe you're thinking about Steel Creek. There's one there. Today was going to be the canoing day, but it was just too windy with storms moving in. Last time I canoed, I totalled the canoe, so we were prob'ly better off coming home...lol No Rick....we didn't shoot the Buffalo...lol. Finally, these pictures are from Eden Falls Cave. This cave goes back a couple hundred feet....with the fit getting tighter and tighter :) Then, two hundred feet back, the cave opens up to a *room* with a 40-foot waterfall. I tried to get a picture of the waterfall, but there's so much water in the air that it's hard to see. These pictures are from the hike at Lost Valley. The first is from a natural bridge. There's one from inside Cobb Cave. This cave is a big hollowed out area in the side of a mountain. It looks pretty small until you have a reference. The kids' size in the cave give a pretty good idea of its size. There's also a picture from above Cobb cave. You can see the cave on the left and the bluffs ahead. Eden Falls cave is above Cobb cave. I'll upload a few of those pictures next. -- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. Britt and I took my little boy and a friend's teenage son camping on the Buffalo River this week for Spring Break. Thought I'd share a few pictures. I did a lot of backpacking up here 10-20 years ago, but my son's just getting old enough to really enjoy it himself. It's kinda fun to do some luxury camping now that I'm *cough* older..... As citizens of the US, we need to believe that our country is, or has the potential to be the greatest. If not, we'll never do what's necessary to achieve that status. It's probably also good to look at what the word "greatest" entails. Why do you WANT to be the "greatest" nation. Why are so many of us so hell-bent on alienating us from the rest of the world by touting our superiority??? I think it'd be swell if we'd acknowledge that we aren't so damned special, and certainly no more special than the rest of the world's people. Argghhhhhh. With higher education/career, I'd make the same decisions. My problem has been with men. I think I'd make different choices where they're concerned. ***Growing up in a day care, then baby sat until old enough to go about my own= SUCKED. Then maybe your parents didn't work too hard to make sure your situation was a good one for you. You not being happy in your situation growing up does not equate with "mothers shouldn't work." **she says when he's in school full time=she wants a job. I wonder about Summer time. A whole LOT of moms here work for the schools, so they're off in the summers. That's a pretty nice deal for them.
