Holy cow, Billy - I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! Looking at people's comments, I think it's one of those things that you have to see or, better yet, experience to appreciate. Those things always frightened me. I've seen the squatters and, while odd from an American standpoint, I can accept them. These shelf things, though, are peverted. Let's face it, a guy (or gal - admit it) can take a pretty mean dump sometimes. When I felt it might build a pyramid rather than situate itself neatly on the shelf I tended toward doing the hoverbot. Something about the short distance just never did please me. I've looked around; we have to find a photo so other folks can see what you mean; the pics you found originally just don't do it justice. We have a host of prisons ranging from an honor farm for income tax evaders and supporters of white collar crime to the maximum security Rock with the likes of World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef (the '93 bomb, not the jetliner attacks) close to our DZ. On occasion folks have dropped into the farm on their way back to the DZ. The last time it happened, the lady who landed out didn't realize where she was until the lieutenant who gave her a ride back to the DZ mentioned it. I didn't know a soul when I went there at Thanksgiving, Heather, and I had a blast anyway. It was a laid back, friendly, fun atmosphere. I tend to be something of a wallflower a lot of times but I had no problem finding jumps to lurk or join. You'll have a blast. Blue skies and happy landings!

We have this game that tends to be rather popular in America. It's called Baseball. There was this pretty important game being played not long ago to determine who would get bragging rights for the year. At this game, a dude on one team smacked the ball really hard. A dude on the other team was way out by the wall and jumped up to catch the ball. As things sometimes tend to happen, a young fan sitting in the crowd stuck his arm over the wall to catch the ball and the player trying to catch the ball hit his arm. The player didn't end up catching the ball, his team didn't end up with bragging rights, the fans of this team considered the fan with the offensive arm something less than a hero and, if I remember correctly, the fan in question was escorted out of the stadium for his own safety. I believe he was receiving so many threats that he ended up moving to another state but can't be certain of that. This picture is of that fan. See? Ain't it a gas? I thought it was pretty amusing; I'm hoping it didn't lose some of that in the translation. Cheers! Blue skies and happy landings!
