When your student lands with the plane
Nightingale replied to EricTheRed's topic in Safety and Training
I rode the plane down on my level 2. The main JM stayed with me. The reserve JM snagged a solo student and did a jump with him. I was fine with that. I think I'd have really freaked if both JMs had jumped and left me all alone in the back of that big skyvan with the door open. -
what we learned from Stuart at safety day at Perris- he said "if you've pulled anything, you need to cut away, because the pilot chute could still pull the pin, and cause a 2 out situation." he also said something about when the reserve is out of the container, the pressure on the main pin is less, because there is more room in the container, so it could be easier for a pilot chute in tow to pull the pin once the reserve has left your back. ask your instructor or S&TA for confirmation, as always. This is just what I was taught yesterday.

Good thinking, and good job listening to your instructors! -
Arghhhh...I almost forgot!!! It's Skyyhi's Birthday today!!!!

Happy Birthday, Darcy!!!!!!! Can't wait to jump with you! -
They had stuff going on all day... canopy safety stuff, emergency procedure reviews, and a lot of other misc. stuff. was more in the morning, though.

ouch! bruised ribs are awful!!!!! I had a pretty nasty opening yesterday too. Canopy didn't have much snivel and slammed open, whipped around in a circle, and somehow the riser slapped me in the arm. I've got some pretty colorful legstrap bruises, and if you look at the bruise on my arm, you can see a perfect outline of the three rings.

it is... but its true. a lot of people think they're "safe skydivers" and blew off a lot of the safety day stuff. If another incentive were offered, those folks probably would've shown up.
-
Perris' was good. They had lots of seminars. I went to the one reviewing emergency procedures. edit: lots of people didn't attend the seminars because they were jumping... if the DZ offered a free jump ticket, I bet lots more people would've gone.

omg both you and Rosa are so sweet!

standing up for the underdog usually involves taking the ethical high road. nothing wrong with making a little money while you do it. go for it.

Great Post! and why are you on here PWing instead of at the doctor's?????
-
your aunt needs to be in court immediately to try to gain legal custody over the child. Only then can law enforcement act to ensure his return. hugs and vibes to your family!

Part of being a friend is accepting them for who they are. I, for one, will not be responding anymore to this hijack. Best wishes to the newlyweds!!!!!

and don't say you can't get an appointment for today. if you tell them you are having seizures, they will either: 1. see you immediately 2. refer you to someone else who will see you right now 3. refer you to the Emergency Room regardless, GO. Please????? You have us all very worried.

Lany- Go to the doctor. TODAY. and then let us know how it goes, because we're all thinking about you!!!!!!! -N-

LOL. first pic is one a friend of mine shot on his grandmother's front porch. second one is of me at the karate world championships last year (I think... might've been two years ago).

NO WUSSES! Its kinda funny, but I've spent my life surrounded by martial artists and very involved in the art myself. A guy who falls into any of the below categories just isn't attractive to me: someone who: 1. I could toss over my head with no problem, or 2. couldn't keep up with me fitness wise (if we're hiking or skiing, I don't want to be waiting for him to catch up!) 3. wouldn't jump out of a plane even once just to try. a sense of adventure is a MUST!

Spunk is also a word for a spirited, slightly mischevious attitude. Pippi Longstocking and Laura Ingalls could be described as "spunky". Also, if you remember the 80s TV series "Punky Brewster", Punky's name came from the word "spunky" which described her attitude.

that was awesome of them.

I got them all... maybe I'm weird. the trick is to ignore the words and look at the letters only.
