is there anything in the above guidelines that could help him?

I looked it up. Looks to me like you could fight it on the grounds of the time frame. Denial, Suspension, or Revocation of Ambulance Driver Certificate 13372. (a) The department shall deny an ambulance driver certificate if any of the following apply to the applicant: (1) Is required to register as a sex offender under Section 290 of the Penal Code for any offense involving force, violence, threat, or intimidation. (2) Habitually or excessively uses or is addicted to narcotics or dangerous drugs. (3) Is on parole or probation for any felony, theft, or any crime involving force, violence, threat, or intimidation. (b) The department may deny an ambulance driver certificate if any of the following apply to the applicant: (1) Has been convicted during the preceding seven years of any offense punishable as a felony or has been convicted during that period of any theft. (2) Has committed any act involving moral turpitude, including fraud or intentional dishonesty for personal gain, within the preceding seven years. (3) Habitually and excessively uses intoxicating beverages. (4) Has been convicted within the preceding seven years of any offense relative to the use, sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or addictive or dangerous drugs, or of any misdemeanor involving force, violence, threat, or intimidation. (5) Is on probation to the department for a cause involving the unsafe operation of a motor vehicle. (6) Within the three years immediately preceding the application has had his or her driver's license suspended or revoked by the department for a cause involving the unsafe operation of a motor vehicle, or, within the same period, has been convicted of any of the following: (A) Failing to stop and render aid in an accident involving injury or death. (B) Driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor, any drug, or under the combined influence of intoxicating liquor and any drug. (C) Reckless driving, or reckless driving involving bodily injury. (7) Has knowingly falsified or failed to disclose a material fact in his and her application. Applicants refused certification under this provision shall not be issued an ambulance driver certificate within 12 months of that refusal. (8) Has been involved as a driver in any motor vehicle accident causing death or bodily injury or in three or more motor vehicle accidents during the preceding one-year period. (9) Does not meet minimum medical standards specified in this code or in regulations adopted pursuant to this code. (10) Has demonstrated irrational behavior or incurred a physical disability to the extent that a reasonable and prudent person would have reasonable cause to believe that the ability to perform the duties normally expected of an ambulance driver may be impaired. (11) Has violated any provision of this code or any rule or regulation adopted by the Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol relating to the operation of emergency ambulances during the preceding one-year period. (12) Has committed any act that warrants dismissal, as provided in Section 13373. (c) The department may revoke or suspend the ambulance driver certificate of any person who gives any cause, before or after issuance of the certificate, for either mandatory or discretionary refusal of certification.

its stories like this that make me re-evaluate my death penalty opinion. This is someone I'd like to see fry.

oh good lord... are you sure this little one doesn't have "brittle bone disease"? A friend of a friend went through all kinds of awful accusations (and arrest!) because their baby had broken ribs, and it turned out it was brittle bone, and the ribs were broken just by picking Amy up. I'm not sure whether to hope its brittle bone, because I don't want to think about a parent doing that to a child, or hope its abuse, because then the child can be placed elsewhere and have a chance at a normal life... either way... its just AWFUL!!!!

a few extra pounds is ok. too much weight to the point of unhealthiness is unattractive. Its nice if a guy takes some pride in his appearance and tries to look good. That's attractive. Also, personally, I find the guys who are in the gym too much very unattractive. you know, the ones with veins bulging out? that's just nasty.

I was a leasing agent. I always tried to be friendly to my residents, whether I was with prospects or not. I also always made sure that maintenance stuff got taken care of within 24 hours, and that the residents had the phone number of the district manager if the property manager didn't return their calls. (the DM was good. the property manager was a flake!) That's what the good ones do. Unfortunately, I was the only one like that in my office, so when residents wanted something done, they just asked for me whenever someone else answered the phone. The easiest way to make sure your leasing agents like you, though, is to make an effort to get to know them, and get to know the maintenance staff. Sending cookies or something is always nice too. If they know you, they'll make sure you're taken care of.

those are usually children or the elderly with careless caretakers. They either scald themselves very badly or overheat.

check your e-bay account and make sure nobody's listed anything in your name, and nobody bid on anything you didn't want using your account. If the account looks fine, just delete the email. its just stupid spam.

Perris puts their tandems in jumpsuits. Although it may not always be necessary, I think it adds to the experience a bit for the student. Makes em feel like a "real skydiver"

My votes: YES on 55. I've been a teacher. I've had a classroom where my students textbooks were infested by bookworms because we didn't have funding for new books. My ceiling was falling down because of rain, and we couldn't afford to fix it, so we had class in a corner of the gym while the PE classes played basketball. Anything that gives funding to schools gets my vote. NO on 56. I don't like making it easier for them to raise taxes. YES on 57 and 58. I don't like borrowing from the future, but without the bond money, we'd have to cut too much from too many important things. I didn't vote for Arnold, but I'm willing to give him a chance here. His plan is better than the alternatives I've read. I figure we can give it a shot, because our debt can't get much worse.

well, for a few of my friends who've done tandems, its not that they lack the commitment, its that they lack the money.

I'm not sure about tandem canopies, but I know that as a student, I couldn't do front riser turns on the 260. I was lifting myself up in the harness, but having no effect whatsoever on the canopy. I was basically doing a one-handed pull-up, but my full body weight wasn't enough to make it turn. Rear riser turns weren't as much a problem, though.

oh! My instructor at perris told me that about 10 out of every thousand tandems go to AFF 1. (1/100). About fifty percent of those (5/10) drop out after AFF 1, so now we're left with 5/1000 About fifty percent drop out after AFF 2. Now we're left with 2.5 About 1/4 drop out after AFF 3. That leaves us with approximately 1.8. After AFF 4, he told me most finish AFF. So, we have about 18 out of every 10,000 tandems finishing AFF, or around 1 in every 500. I think my math is right. I don't know if his numbers are, as they were based on personal observation rather than actual statistics, I think.
-
I was told that tandems count. nobody said anything about a limit, and I couldn't find it in the SIM. thing is, if all you do is tandems, there's no way you can do anything on the A card except get 25 skydives. (I think... maybe there's one or two others, but not much)

I have the silhouette and love it. Personally, I found it much easier to land than the spectre, but that's just me. you might be different. I like the way the silhouette handles, and its really easy to pack because of the hybrid fabrics (ZP topskin, F111 bottom). Jump a bunch of canopies, PACK a bunch of canopies, and then decide.

don't shave. if you want to remove the hair, wax. I don't know how well you'd tolerate Nair, but it usually doesnt' work well on coarse hair like chest hair. Gave me some nasty burns when I tried it on my legs.

I've heard good things about the Days Inn in Perris, and the Pechanga Casino near Elsinore. Dunno how much the Pechanga is, tho.

Much love and hugs to you and your son! Glad to hear it!
