Should gays be allowed to marry? This isn't the standard poll, honest.

Not the low road here. The road of a personal friend who's used to having his balls busted for using the word "gay" in vain. Owned by Remi #? -
Yup, sorry. My bad Owned by Remi #?

Sure. The alternative would be skulking around in bed hoping that I didn't fall asleep and accidentally smother myself with a pillow, eh? Until we die from old age, the next largest chance of death comes from accident. Live a little, eh? Owned by Remi #?

My point is that being homosexual means that you can't have a heterosexual marriage. Owned by Remi #? -

I'm going to expand on this a little: I have two close friends who are both about as gay as you can imagine... but not so much notice on the surface. They married not long after graduating from Annapolis. Him continuing on the become an aviator in the US Navy (Hornet pilot) amd her going on to commit most of her career in the USMC working to make joint CSAR a reality. They used both the tax benefits they realized as "married" to help afford their real, homosexual relationships and to afford raising the children they had (yeah folks... being gay does not make you sterile) Do these two people deserve to be marginalized? Are they stealing your tax dollars? They are two decorated veterans, a man and a woman, who have deceived you. Should they be punished? Jeez..... Owned by Remi #? -

You're dead on right there. What's making my head spin is this: The DOMA folks insist that marriage should be reserved for one man and one woman. I know 3 couples who meet that oh so biblical requirement but both members of the couple are homosexual. Those marriages don't forward the rights of same sex couples who wish to marry and want the same rights given heterosexual couples, granted.... But they are "gay" marriages. Riddle me the difference? John, seriously That reeks of the stench given off by the idea that when you approve of something, it's evolution and when you disapprove, it's hijacking. Owned by Remi #?

Seriously.... all the prop 8 stuff is making my head spin. I'm gay (lesbian) but I got married (to a man) when I was young. Was that or should have that been against the law? I know several women and men who have married and both parties have been "gay". Question to the folks who insist that marriage be reserved for one man and one woman then... Is it okay for two queers to marry if their genders are different? Mods... no offense intended at the use of the word "queers". It's a common enough word amongst us.... Owned by Remi #? -
Eh? What the text states is that CA will issue a new (not ammended) birth certificate on completion of a sexual reassignment. Are you saying that you agree that a person assigned the sexual identity of male at birth who then undergoes sexual reassignment to become female is then born female in your opinion? If so, thanks for being progressive and open minded. If not, duck. You're still standing under the large whoosing sound. Owned by Remi #?

Kevin Costner....... water....... end of the world as we know it..... Hell, that works for me Owned by Remi #?

All yes, regardless of country or creed. Any countries veterans deserve thanks. I think of all of them on Veteran's Day. I think of all those who fell in battle on Memorial Day also. It is not the same. Owned by Remi #?

Given that some people waste resources that appear to be on the brink of extinction in the next few years, and that some resources have become extinct in recent years, I think you're placing unfortunate faith in the idea that immortality would make the most people care more about the resources around them than themselves. Starship Troopers. Not a "great" book but I'll never forget how much it made me think when I was a teenager. Lonesome Dove. I've read it half a dozen times and I'm sure I'll read it many more. No matter how familiar I feel with the story, it's just a wonderful read. Le Morte d'Arthur. There are dozens of books that I could choose as a third.... so I'm going with this one because I dearly love Arthurian literature and this one is the foundation for most of them. Owned by Remi #?

With due respect and thanks for your service, Jeanne. We pay our respects to those who have fallen every day and even more so on Memorial Day. Veteran's Day should be about thanking veterans... all of them... regardless of whether or not they gave their lives in battle or gave a few years of service and moved on with their lives as civilains afterwards. It's kind of a pet peave of mine, I guess. Memorial Day is Memorial Day and Veteran's Day is Veteran's Day. They don't mean the same thing. Owned by Remi #?

No, you are correct, it's not preventing anyone from voting, but it is making 5 other opposing votes meaningless. Regardless of what the dictionary says, how does illegally rendering another person's vote meaningless differ from preventing their vote? Owned by Remi #?

Silly French k-niget. I have a bannana here with your name written all over it. Go away or I will taunt you a second time! Owned by Remi #?

I agree with you. Regardless of whether or not the scenario given is possible, if it did happen then one person voting six times would decrease the value of the votes of people who only voted once. Even if it's by a mere fraction, it still a measure of disenfranchisment. Owned by Remi #?

Yeah but... 100 years ago it would have been common practice to describe most newly married couples as "gay". Words change meaning, huh? Owned by Remi #?
