  1. I had an experience last week that raised some questions in my mind. I did an acrobatic ride and helicopter jump from 10k. I was wearing a Neptune, audible, and CYPRES. The acrobatics were really fun. Barrel rolls, hammerheads, positive Gs, 0 Gs once or twice.... What concerns me is that my Neptune and audible seemed to lose track of reality during and after the manuevers. By the time I exited my audible was stuck on flatline and my Neptune was off by almost 2000 feet. I didnt think about what the CYPRES might be doing until after I landed but after I consided the possibilities, I thought I remembered hearing or reading that it would not arm if it had what it calculated was bogus data. Thats how I would hope it works, anyway. Am I rememering this correctly? Either way I am uneasy about the idea that I turned on my AAD for a special situation jump without thinking through the details. Owned by Remi #?
  2. I’ll tell you what I believe, I believe you gotta find some better lookin friends Johnny. I have a lot of male friends that I think are handsome or attractive by social standards.... but I am not attracted to them, turned on by them, etc. Same goes for many female friends.... Owned by Remi #?
  3. How was the trip home from the wedding? Endless. Its a lot farther from the keys to ohio than it is from ohio to the keys. Owned by Remi #?
  4. Actually, it means we don't have the Church of England the United States. Thank God (pun intended) I struggle with tbe whole "Cake or Death?" thing. Owned by Remi #?

  6. I cant think of a reason it would not be possible as long as you have a hang glider that can fly with a pilot plus 2 passengers with rigs.... Or a hang glider that can release a pilot and passenger with rigs who are willing to just crash land the glider..... Owned by Remi #?
  7. The odds might be good, but not good enough to justify calling the US the United States of Christianity, There are odds, and there are ethics. You appear to favor the odds over the ethics. I do not. Owned by Remi #?
  8. I think that the material you reference makes it reasonable to assume a Somalian is probaby Muslim in the absense of knowledge, Mike, but I also think that its irresponsible to substitue one for the other without facts. It seems to me that the intent of the substitution is to inflame.. If 99% of Americans were Christian would you be okay substituting one for the other? Owned by Remi #?
  9. Did you ask for a one day registration? I did.$20.00 included a boogie t-shirt....so that's a good deal. Owned by Remi #?

  13. Or it could be that someone was dumb enough to think that scheduling a wedding for the last week of December was a good idea The wedding is the the Florida Keys. Pretty cool place to invite Ohio friends to visit in winter. Owned by Remi #?

  17. Can you be more specific? Month and article? Was this a statement of USPA policy or some random person's opinion? Owned by Remi #?
  18. Where did you get that information? The 2011 SIM hasn't changed. They still recommend either option without favoring one over the other, except that they only recommend chopping if there's no interference or possibility of entanglement. Owned by Remi #?

  20. I bought one at Best Buy today. It was $140 cheaper than a 16G iPad with 3G and no contract service from VZW. The only thing it lacks compared to the iPad I have at work is screen size. The other benefits Mark mentions more than make up for it because one of the things that I dont like about our iPad is that it's a tad too big to be comfortable to hold in one hand. Owned by Remi #?
  21. What's fun about Pete is just exactly that. His romps usually end up being a great laugh. It's love/hate, ah fuck it.... Lets see where this goes. Owned by Remi #?
  22. I'm going to go easy on you and offer a hint. Look at the words in the thread title. Consider the response "Beer" If it doesn't click for ya, you might not be spending enough time with skydivers. Owned by Remi #?
  23. I have the same comment that Billvon had up-thread. It strikes me as odd that you approve of the federal regulation of private industry. Owned by Remi #?
  24. I don't need to Google it. I already know what both words mean. I was suggesting that you might educate yourself so that your comments actually make some sense.. Owned by Remi #?
  25. Putting square pegs in round holes is a bad idea. Canopies are life saving equipment and when you're learning, you need to learn with the proper tools. Buy a large, used skydiving canopy and learn to skydive on skydiving gear. If you still only want to have one canopy when you're ready to start practicing for BASE, you can always sell that, probably with little or no loss as long as you keep it in good condition, and buy a BASE canopy. Find someone to mentor you into BASE. They'll probably be willing to share gear for a few jumps. Go take a course that provides gear. Learn what skydiving gear is best for you from skydivers you trust and learn what BASE gear is good for you from BASE jumper you trust. Owned by Remi #?
