BRADLEY MANNING: POSTER BOY FOR 'DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL'
labrys replied to skyrider's topic in Speakers Corner
The statement is ignorant. Gays have been, are, and always will serve in the military. The repeal of DADT has nothing at all to do with allowing gays in the military. What a lot of people are missing in these discussions is that DADT actually allowed gays to serve without having to lie to enlist. The repeal of DADT is about allowing gays to serve openly. Why has no one else asked: Which part? Owned by Remi #?

Aside from the military, I've always worked for small, private companies and I've always felt that my job mattered WRT to the bottom line. When I'm contributing, my efforts are helping to provide the funds that pay the unemployment insurance. In that respect I'm paying in, even as an employee. Owned by Remi #?

I wasn't going to open any of your threads... And if I did I certainly wasn't going to admit it by replying to one of them.... But yeah, I just had to agree with this one. Owned by Remi #?

BRADLEY MANNING: POSTER BOY FOR 'DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL'
labrys replied to skyrider's topic in Speakers Corner
Mike, I served as a lesbian in the somewhat darker years before DADT and I was fully prepared to go to the brig, because that was a not entirely uncommon parking place for gays awaiting dishonorable discharge, before I would allow anyone to blackmail me. It was, for me and many of my gay and lesbian friends, a topic of discussion. We wanted to serve for many reasons, and as odd as it might sound we were willing to betray an oath in so far as we had to swear we were not gay to enlist, but we would not betray that oath to serve our country otherwise, even if it meant imprisonment and shame. As far as this jackoff Manning goes, he's just a twit. His sexuality has nothing to do with it. Owned by Remi #? -

Before I Pay for Geeks On Call--Can Anyone Help?
labrys replied to CarrieByTheSea's topic in The Bonfire
A good start would be to go to McAffee's website, look for their support section, and try to find the specific trojan that McAffee reported was removed. See if they have any recommendations for follow-up actions you might need to take. Do you have system restore turned on? Owned by Remi #? -
How the hell is anyone suppose to know if they like it or not until they open it? Ummm.... Ahhhhh.... I get it now. Note to self: Don't open any of petejones45's threads. Owned by Remi #?

I have video of a couple of 11y/o kids having a blast. Is that too old? Owned by Remi #?

Nope. And since you probably can't be bothered to do research any better than FOX does, here's the full C-SPAN version : http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/196849-1 But then again, maybe Bush saluted while he was off camera and Lt. Colonel Crandall didn't bother to return the salute, or maybe after the ceremony, once they were off camera, Bush saluted. Owned by Remi #?

FOX proves once again that either its fact checking process reeks or they intentionally print this shit without even bothering to check it. It took me fewer that 10 minutes with Google video to find: Johnson not saluting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-MlPpZo0j8 And Bush not saluting: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=2516928n Unfortunately, all they have to do is run the story, participate in spreading the rumor, and then quietly retract after the damage is done. http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/faa_regulations/ Part 105 covers parachute operations. There isn't much there, including nothing about dropzones being required to follow USPA rules and nothing about student age limits and nothing about dropzones being required to use waivers. That's all for me in this thread. No need to ask follow-ups unless you're hoping someone else will answer. Owned by Remi #?

Minors are able to jump and they do. Why is that so hard for you to understand? It's also legal in the US for a parent to sign a waiver for a child. The parent assumes the contract's obligations, ie, waiving the right to sue, but they can't waive the child's right to sue. That's also common in other countries.... And yet there are, regardless of the potential legal issues, places that allow minors to jump. Those that are USPA members usually stick to the BSRs and keep the minimum age at 16. Some that are not USPA members will take minors much younger than 16. And it's perfectly legal. Is that clear enough? Owned by Remi #?

Maybe you should read more of the thread. The 50% / 50% model isn't locked in. Owned by Remi #?

I think you're misunderstanding the thread. This is a conversation about a non-rigger installing a CYPRES and has nothing to do with having to have a cutaway to pack your own reserve under supervision. You're about 180 off topic. Owned by Remi #?

No one said you can't get maintenance on the Vigil. The point of discussion was that scheduled maintenance is required for the CYPRES but not the Vigil. Owned by Remi #?

it's pointless to even try to talk to you. it does matter. you can "throw that puppy in there" if you like, but you'll be violating part 105 if you jump it. this is the part where where you make a smart assed reply like "i wan't going to jump it" or "i was really, actually just going to open my container and put a cute little puppy in there" go ahead: Owned by Remi #?

Such a DZ is not required to participate and is well within their rights to include the requirement that an appointment be scheduled no sooner than x weeks after purchase.. as already suggested in this thread. Owned by Remi #?
