VIBES!!!!! I have a gut feeling that things will all turn out ok Chris. Keeping you in my good thoughts! Jennifer Arianna Frances

Why would I want to do that when lawyers can and do charge you by the hour even to just ask a question... There is no harm in asking. But seeing as I've gotten two totally rotten responses from this - I can tell this isn't the place to ask anything non-skydiving related. WTF?? I thought this was Talk Back Jennifer Arianna Frances

hmmm Lemon law... THe car was purchased in Massachusetts, and I now reside in RI - where should it be filed? THe mechanic that has fixed the car is also in MA. I don't care too much about the money - I just want KIA to fess up and offer to fix the brakes at their cost. Jennifer Arianna Frances
-
Seems to me like they're filed according to state you reside in. I'm hoping to get more information if anyone knows. Thanks in advance, Jennifer Arianna Frances

Excuse me?? You have no clue as to why I would want to file this!! I paid $8000 for this car, and not 7 months later had to shovel out $900 for BRAND NEW BRAKES!!! The car only had 12,000 miles on it!?? Sound fair that KIA refused to cover it??? Then get this - I had to replace them again at 23,000 miles!!!! I have never heard of a car, under warranty, where you had to get COMPLETELY new brakes twice before 25,000. Think I'm pissed off?? hell ya - I just replaced the brakes, for the 3rd time (yes, another $1100) and I'm sick and tired of it. I want KIA to announce that they new about the problem but still sold the cars with a bad design - AND EXPECT THE CUSTOMER TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES! So, frankly... shut up. I'm the last person to file frivilolus lawsuits. But I've paid out $3,000 on brakes and I'm tired of it. The car isn't even paid off yet!! Jennifer Arianna Frances

Anybody know how to go about filing a class action law suit? After being tipped off about a class action lawsuit against KIA Motors in CA, FL, NJ and PA for defective brakes, I'd be interested in doing the same in RI. I've replaced the brakes in my 99 KIA Sephia 3 times in the time I've owned it due to a faulty design in the brakes. I see now that other people in those states have filed a suit against them - when I previously tried to seek legal action I was told by a lawyer that there was slim chance of anything happening. I see that that is not the case any longer and would like to know how to go about filing one. Anybody know? Jennifer Arianna Frances

Front rotors, Front pads, back shoes + labor. Keep in mind that its a Kia - a korean car, so the parts are much too much money. I have a mechanic at a local junkyard do the work on all mine and my husbands cars (now 5 cars total), and he's been great. Jennifer Arianna Frances

Hehe - glad I'm not the only one! haha I spent close to $900 on scrapbooking stuff this year - am I nuts?? oh yes, yes, I am. When I start AFF in the spring I plan on scrapping all of it - it'll be great! Jennifer Arianna Frances

Totally serious about the brakes. Its a design flaw that was fixed post 99 design year. I even got a lawyer and tried litigation to get them to pay for the second brake job - but no. NOt a recall, not nothing. I was not pleased. But now I get the pads rotated every 9,000 miles and they are last longer - my previous stint was every 23,000 replace the brakes. THe car now has 83,000 on it. As far as trade in - I was only offered $1,000 on it. If you're really strapped for cash I only paid $8,000 brand new for it. GOod luck! Jennifer Arianna Frances

OMG - thats a great idea!! Might spur a skydiving related reality show too! How cool would that be?? Jennifer Arianna Frances

Both my husband and I have Sephias - him a 98 (purchased used) and myself a 99 (purchased new). HIs car has had alot of problems with a chasis sensor that causes it to die at stop lights all the time. My car (which is paid off in May) has had the brakes replaced 3 times - just spent $1100 to do the front and bake AGAIN. Other than that they are good cars - the warranty is not going to do much for you as the cars are designed well. If I had to do it over again I would have purchased a Dodge Neon - which is a much more solid car. The Sephias felt like they would blow off the road in a good wind, they EAT gas over 75 and they are VERY noisy - I've had to replace my speakers as I have to constantly have the music loud to drown out car noise. They handle really well due to their size. THey look cute, but have no resale value. I was looking into getting a saturn last year and still owned $2800 on my kia and the dealership said they would only give me $1000 for it and its in great shape with 50,000 miles. I'm glad I purchased it as I really needed a reliable car at the time, but if the situation had allowed I would have gotten a dodge neon or saturn (both comparable in price). Good luck to you - and I agree, stay away from the Rio's. The Spectre is a really nice car though - above and beyond the Sephia (both car and $$ wise) Jennifer Arianna Frances

I felt really special this year. This is the first Christmas in 12 years that my mom was actually there. She is bipolar and has sesonal defective disorder and like clockwork goes into a mental hospital around my birthday (Nov. 21) and returns in February - always missing my very favorite holiday (christmas) - but not this year!!! I was able to get her a nice gift basket with lots of lotions and a 6 pack of unreleased barbara streisand CDs (her fav., and now my dad and brother hate me as they live with her). Got my dad a bunch of omaha steaks, which he was loving! Got my brother a GC for a tandem jump at my DZ - now he has no excuse to not go with me next year! LOL I got my hubby a ham radio and some wireless headphones, gamecube games, clothes and some other small stuff. My folks got me a brand spank new sewing machine (about $300!!) which I was so surprised to get. I also got a nice suit for work, a really nice perfume set, swarovski crystal from hubby (xmas tradition), some scrapbooking stuff (I'm addicted), a wicked kewl MP3 palyer, lots of lotions etc. and money. Then I spent Christmas day with my family - dinner with my Nana and great aunt and her son (dads cousin) whom I hadn't seen since my wedding. Then over to my great aunt and uncles house. They're getting on in years, but it was so great to see them. They're really special people to us. Then it was home, to sit in our lonely house with our cats and wonder if we should clean up or not Hope everyone has a really great new year! Jennifer Arianna Frances

woah.... really?? Even if its not in a tandem progression program? The only problem is that I've jumped at 3 different locations... I have those cheesy certificates (signed by the TMs) but thats it - anybody know if that would count? Jennifer Arianna Frances
