  1. http://climatelab.com.au/publications/ So she would be the Jezebel of the United Church of AGW?
  2. That's like saying someone's cause of death isn't all that important. They were going to die anyways. So we know that some of the fires were set intentionally, some accidentally. I'd be interested to know if the people who intentionally set their fires were working in concert.
  3. Is this the “Positive side to organized religion” thread?
  4. 24 Australians arrested for deliberately setting fires this season
  5. hec·tare /ˈhekˌter/ Learn to pronounce noun a metric unit of square measure, equal to 100 ares (2.471 acres or 10,000 square meters).
  6. I have a serious question...if the fires in OZ are climate related why isn't New Zealand on fire as well?
  7. Open your own business...you'll get a belly full.
  8. Yes I have been to a house with kids. Seen any kids with smartphones lately? I don't proclaim to know all there is to know about the media but it's far more pervasive today than ever before, and in ways I'm just now becoming aware of. Example; we were gifted Echo for the holidays. Set it up and immediately I notice the channels on my FireTV stick are showing 100% Amazon and Amazon related commercials. I think it's stopped and might have just been a coincidence but I can't see the screen until Mr. Scott invents transparent aluminum...foil.
  9. I'm 61 and while I agree they are more intelligent and have better tools I also feel bad for them. They've been the guinea pigs for media saturation and from my vantage point it's not good. That many are unable to differentiate threats is more an indictment of their situation and that they seem to be afraid of everything.
  10. Everybody whines about something. I'm not yearning for the America of my youth. My life is so much better now than it was then.
  11. Somehow I doubt it was uneducated young conservatives attempting to figure out how to avoid a draft that hasn't been used since 1973.
  12. Unfortunately the MSM has created generations of people who don't have a clue about what a real threat vs. perceived threat looks like. Draft website crashes after Soleimani's death, Selective Service says 'business as usual'
  13. I'm done. You guys want to go that route fine. I'll never convince you and vice versa.
  14. That is the very type of thinking that the ME has used for centuries to justify their clan wars. Your great grandfather offended my great grandfather ad nauseum
  15. Please...more of the old "its our fault" bullshit. You forget...Clinton was given a chance to take out OBL but didn't have the balls. How that would have changed history. I'm glad this guy is pink spray. You think you can have a discussion with these folks? Ask Jimmy Carter how well his Camp David accord worked. Three years after Sadat was dead. There will never be peace in the ME. Anyone who says it can happen is delusional.
  16. Progressives always try to take a rational approach to the ME. You just forget that you aren't dealing with rational folks over there. What do you think we should do about a "government official" (I use that term lightly) like this guy? We know he's directly responsible for hundreds of killings, and indirectly for thousands. Ask him to sit down for tea. FFS
  17. You don't thinks some of the 473 drone strikes splattered some government officials? Just remember the 3 US citizens he killed in Yemen. Is that where you draw the line? The Pentagon says Soleimani and his troops were "responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American and coalition service members and the wounding of thousands more." Known as Iran's "shadow commander," Soleimani -- who had led the Quds Force since 1998 -- was the mastermind of Iranian military operations in Iraq and Syria. US officials believe that during the Iraq war, it was Soleimani's units that provided Iraqi insurgents with specially made bombs that could penetrate armor, a deadly weapon against American forces -- a claim Iran denied. During the war against ISIS, Soleimani was also often reported to be on the battlefields in Iraq, slipping in and out of the country to help Shia Iraqi forces battle extremist militants. Soleimani's Quds Force also wreaked havoc far beyond the Middle East. US Treasury officials say Soleimani was involved in a notorious plot on American soil, overseeing Quds Force officers who in 2011 tried and failed to assassinate Saudi Arabia's ambassador to the United States Adel Al-Jubeir at Washington's upscale Cafe Milano. In a statement on Friday, the Defense Department said Soleimani was "actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region." It blamed the Iranian general for orchestrating attacks on coalition bases in Iraq in recent months, including an attack on December 27 that culminated in the deaths of an American contractor and Iraqi personnel. https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/03/asia/soleimani-profile-intl-hnk/index.html I'm quite glad he's gone. He was a General and fair prey.
