I get what you're saying...but being a functioning member of society and contributing means you're not on the government tit. Nor does being on Social Security. I know some of you will dispute the SS claim, but it's an agreement between the government and the people to pay in to a system that was supposed to take care of you when you retire. Retiring on SS is not being on the tit.

Government doesn't pay for anything. They simply redistribute our money. You're only on the tit if you aren't a functioning member of the society that produces the money the government redistributes. Something liberals seem to have a difficult time understanding.

When it's all said and done the D nominee will be Bloomberg. It's so plainly obvious the DNC wants him as their candidate. It will be interesting to see if the D strategy of nominating a progressive from New York will work this time.

And you expect me to believe that a 4 inch rise in sea level is causing flooding in the Keys? Looks like it's not the same everywhere in the world. Global sea level trends and relative sea level trends are different measurements. Just as the surface of the Earth is not flat, the surface of the ocean is also not flat—in other words, the sea surface is not changing at the same rate globally. Sea level rise at specific locations may be more or less than the global average due to many local factors: subsidence, upstream flood control, erosion, regional ocean currents, variations in land height, and whether the land is still rebounding from the compressive weight of Ice Age glaciers. Looks like it can get higher and lower depending on many things. Let's take Key West. Oh look! Between 1945 and 1950 it was as high as it is now. What happened then? Oh look again! From 1990 to 2010 it was lower than average. I guess global warming started after that.
