Election year theatrics. Just about every POTUS has tried this one during an election cycle in the last 20 years.

On an EV road trip to promote green tech, the US Energy Secretary and her entourage couldn't find enough electric vehicle chargers Seriously? What a maroon.

They're all bought and paid for so the handlers are trying to eke out the remaining votes before time expires.

Near as I can tell we aren’t talking about wheelchairs. You want to make lite of it? Fine by me.

How is that not "white privilege"? That is most definitely white privilege. Is Harvard the only school one can attend? Had I wanted to go to Harvard I would not have been accepted either.

Don't confuse what I'm saying. Tell me what you think the government should do to help.

https://engagedscholarship.csuohio.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1090&context=cecr I've given my thoughts. Let me leave you with one final thought. When people lay blame for their problems on others they surrender the ability to solve them for themselves. Government cannot, has not, and will not solve this problem. The only people who can are the individuals.

Way to mail it in Bill. I was speaking to the state of race relations. While I agree all are good things only the first 4 are relevant and all of those happened more than 50 years ago. Do you believe the state of the black person in American is better now than it was in the 1970's? Federal government policies, while benefitting some urban areas, have historically been detrimental to African-American people. Years of welfare and housing policies have placed central city residents, especially African-Americans, at a disadvantage which they have not overcome. Policies that once denied benefits to Black people, such as public welfare and federally-insured mortgages, morphed into stigmatized policies which, when available to Blacks, became obstacles to their advancement. These same policies enabled the majority White population to do what they were initially designed to do – provide a toehold during a period of temporary economic decline after which personal advancement was possible. The effects of public welfare and housing policies may help to explain the vast differences in the economic status of Blacks as compared to Whites reported in recent research. The current wage BlackWhite gap is wide, but more telling is the enormous wealth gap between the two groups historically and currently. The Black-White wage gap increased between 2000 and 2018 while the Black-White wealth gap was the same in 2016 as it was in 1962. This paper explores how changes in the objectives, design, implementation of welfare and housing assistance have contributed to the wealth disparity and accumulation of assets. Intentionally antiracist policies are needed to counter the racist impacts of past and present policies. chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://engagedscholarship.csuohio.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1090&context=cecr

So now he’s your hero? My point is the vast majority of the government’s attempts to fix the problem have only succeeded in making it worse

Not a very good example...how about one business charges blacks less than all others. And you somehow think that's making the situation better? Hell even California recognized it was a bad idea. Something about content of their character and all. I

If your goal is improving race relations then we must stop differentiating by race. Any policy that gives preference by race is inherently racist.

None Jerry. Just my observation.

My mother lived to 93. Her last 5 years were dementia filled. My father also lived to 93. He was vital, active, and aware. I suppose it's possible but I see signs of dementia in Biden that more closely resemble my mother than my father.

I thought McCain's use of Palin was a clever political move. Like all candidates she had some things I agreed with and some I didn't. Never considered her a serious POTUS possibility.
-
I'm well aware of the coming commercial crash. I'm not saying I don't like Harris. I don't know enough about her to say one way or the other. My point was simply Biden probably won't make it another 6 years.

In reality a vote for Biden will most likely be a vote for Kamala. So you should probably include some assessment of her qualifications as well.

Trump Bucks scam - just how stupid are these people??
airdvr replied to Erroll's topic in Speakers Corner
One of Adolf Hitler’s watches has just fetched over a million dollars in a private auction. The watch was sold by Alexander Historical Auctions in Maryland for $1.1 million (€1.07 million) to an anonymous bidder, and is believed to be a gift, given to Hitler for his 44th birthday on 20 April 1933. The Andreas Huber reversible watch is engraved with three dates around a Swastika - Hitler’s birth date, the date he became Chancellor and the day the Nazi party won the election in March 1933. -

I'm thinking it might have some value as a collectible down the road. -

I think Bruce realizes this is a huge problem for the trans community. I haven;t seen any polls but I'm guessing 70% or better support for banning trans athletes from competing against women.

2nd is just the first loser.

I have a problem with trans women competing against biological women.
