Racism: Democrats are just as racist as any other party
airdvr replied to regulator's topic in Speakers Corner
That depends on how you define discrimination. I think telling some poor SOB that he isn't good enough and has no hope so we'll supplement his existence is a particularly cruel form of discrimination. Instead of addressing the problem you put a band-aid on it and hope it goes away. Now the problem has become permanent because we aren't allowed to have this discussion unless we hide behind screen names. "Let me put it this way: when you rob someone of their incentive to go out there and improve themselves, you are not doing them any favors. When you take someone and pat them on the head and say, 'There there you poor little thing,' I'm gonna give you food stamps, I'm gonna give you housing subsidies, I'm gonna give you free health care.'"..."What would be much more empowering, is to use our intellect and our resources to give those people a way up and out." The Tea Party IS the fringe. The loony fringe of the GOP. That's why the GOP leadership is trying really hard to avoid having the "morans" (sic) on the November ballot. www.bostonglobe.com/news/politics/2014/05/06/tea-party-gop-establishment-elsewhere/2Gszt7jzv41iOrHR5uFNZL/story.html So it's your contention that some people are too loony to run for election? A very simple answer is to tell the morons sitting in the house to get down to business.. and do the countries business instead of rehashing the same stupid crap over and over again in hopes that some of their bullshit might actually stick. They have blocked more of this presidents appointees than ALL other presidents in the history of the country. Get over it, learn what most people learned to do in grade school, compromise and GOVERN for fucks sake. But I will not hold my breath, the GOP from day one with the revelation of what they were going to do to block the black guys every move, like a bunch of fucking spoiled brats, has shown they are incapable of running the country, they only seek to run the country into the ground and to harm millions of Americans in the process. That works for the idiots who expect to be MIRACLED OUT of here any day now so no need to do anything for future generations crowd, but for all of the rest of us, this shit got old back in 2009. The GOP did not get the message in 2012 and only have the morons in congress that you do by virtue of BAD POLITICS, voter suppression, voter nullification ( think of what the Diebold CEO said) gerrymandering comes to mind. The GOP has no ideas other than block Obama... if he is for it.. they are against it. The only ones who win with this bullshit are the Oligarchs who have the best politicians their money could buy. For 40 years the Dems had control of the house before Newt wrestled it away, and it was pretty much a big FU to republicans during those times as well. Elections have consequences...lol. I would think you'd be outraged that the left didn't pursue W more vigorously. Problem is there was no way to prove he lied. This time we've got e-mails and enough information is being withheld and manipulated that it starts to take on a certain odor. Is it political grandstanding? OK...this is DC. It's what they do. Where was your hero when all of these attacks occured??? Was he on vacation??? He did spend an inordinate amount of time doing other things. That cat was out cuttin brush on the ranch.. not in his ready room. Hell these were REAL embassies.. with security in place not some little consular office in Bum-fuck Libya. http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/13333916-number-of-embassies-attacked-during-the-bush-years-before-benghazi-many Give me a break. The only conscientious concern here is self-serving partisan BS. Where was all that concern for our men and women serving in embassies and consulates across the globe when all the other attacks and killings occurred? Like in 2002 when the US Consulate in the Karachi, Pakistan, was attacked and 10 were killed? Or in 2004 when the US embassy in Uzbekistan was attacked and two were killed and another nine injured? How about in 2004, when the US Consulate in Saudi Arabia was stormed and 8 lost their lives? There is more: In 2006, armed men attacked the US Embassy in Syria and one was murdered. Then in 2007 a grenade was thrown at the US Embassy in Athens. In 2008, the US Embassy in Serbia was set on fire. In 2008, bombings in the US Embassy in Yemen killed 10. Notice the dates, all before the Obama administration. Once again everyone misses the point. Was it bad that our consulate was attacked on 9/11? Terrible. Did things like this happen under W? Absolutely. Did Obama and Co. attempt to cover-up the fact that it was a planned terror attack just 2 months before the election? Combine that with an unbelievable jobs report and you might have something. We may never know. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

My thinking on this subject has changed recently. I see business owners who are flush with dollars and not paying their employees very well. I understand that it will probably raise prices and may cost some folks their jobs when the businesses figure out that robots can do the job better, but robots aren't cheap and many owners will suck it up and pay a living wage. Henry Ford understood this and was roundly criticized for paying his autoworkers more than what the other auto makers were paying. We are stuck in some kind of wage/price timewarp, a wormhole if you will that goes back to the mid 80's. People still want to lease a car for $199 month. We have low/no interest rates even though we print money like confetti. Time for a change. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Whom was he saluting as he was just entering the fuselage? My take on it is this; he gave a half-assed salute upon entering the helo, then thought better of it. If that's the only thing he fucks up today then it was a good day. And no, I don't think it was classy. How many times a week does he board that mixmaster? Please don't dent the planet. Guess what is coming your way: - You need glasses or a stronger prescription - One knee goes bad & has to be replaced - Then the other one - Your hair start to get a little thinner - Your hair starts to go gray ( or vice versa with the above ) And the worst of it all: - You can no longer see your belt buckle. It's all out there, pal. JerryBaumchen PS) And that list is just the beginning. This gettin' old ain't for pussies Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

What's the weirdest phobia you have? Or maybe the weirdest superstition ?

I didn't have this one growing up but I sure have it now...fear of being trapped in a tight space...so tight that you can't turn your head. Maybe it was all those 45 minute rides to altitude in Cessnas... Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne -
I've had an epiphany reading this thread. I've decided I don't care if it's real or not. AGW believers, do your worst. In 20 years this will be forgotten much the same as Sarajevo, Rwanda, Nancy Kerrigan, O.J., and the baseball players strike, and Newt Gigrich as the Speaker of the House. (Yes, I had to look them up) Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

Should I continue? I'll ask again...this time to you Bill; what do we need to do about it and what can guarantee the results we desire? BTW this is a clever political move by Obama. It pits conservatives against liberals and is designed to make anyone who won't drink the kool-aid look bad. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

I'm not seeing too much in here that refers to the 'potential' risks of AGW. In this quote its a foregone conclusion. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne

OK...once again we'll go thru this again; even if we all agreed this problem is real we would NEVER do the things that are necessary to solve the problem, and even if we did it wouldn't matter in comparison to India and China's rate of pollution. So . . . fuck it? Let's ignore the entire issue? THAT's your answer? Really? Well Paul, tell us what is required to end this 'looming' threat. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
